Moved to Clearwater over a year ago. Did some research on the internet in my search for a really good, honest auto mechanic. Unfortunately, in the past the choice has always been based on trial and error. I ran across a review on Bob Lee's Garage, so I went to them for routine work, oil change, and a general checkup. My first impression: very professional, polite, up front, honest, no price bloating. I was very satisfied. Then, I made a mistake. My 2006 Hyundai started misbehaving at a little over 55,000 miles. I thought possibly electrical issues or the beginning of an engine problem. My 5 year warranty had run out and I only had 10 yrs on the transmission. I debated, Bob Lee's or a Hyundai dealer. I took it to Fitzgerald Hyundai. (Big mistake) Yes, they gave me a loaner car @$30 per day. I agreed to the $98 diagnostic charge which would be waived if I had work done. After a few hours I received a call that my Rt Front strut had fallen out when the car was lifted up, and that I should replace my left one. In addition to this, I was also told that I needed: a fuel pump, mass air flow sensor, a/c control head, rt turn signal bulb, brake switch, driver front door lock actuator. The total cost was about $3000. I had Fitzgerald do nothing else. I walked out of there with a $669.34 bill and another lesson learned. Diagnostics were not waived as I had not done any of the additional recommended work based on my reasons for bringing in the car. After all, repair-wise, I had only paid for the Rt front strut that fell off, labor for troubleshooting, misc service charges, and $30 rental charge for using the rental car half the day. My husband tried to convince them to give us a break on the diagnostic charge, but that was a negative. When we left that Hyundai dealership, the implication was that the left front strut might fall out too. I thought I needed a new car, an expense not in my budget. I then took the car to Bob Lee's, which is what I should have done in the first place. They examined and tested the car thoroughly. The only things replaced were a turn signal bulb and an AC relay switch, about a $25 item. It has been over 3 weeks now since that repair and the car is running great! The staff at Bob Lee's have never tried to force us into anything. You get ethical, quality work from hard-working mechanics who take pride in their work and in customer satisfaction. In October 2012, I needed repairs done on my modified mini-van and took it to Bob Lee's Garage. Since this was the first time visiting the garage and being a woman who has had very bad luck with other repair shops, I was a little reluctant to visit this one. Once there, I was greeted by a very nice, professionally dressed, gentlemen with red hair and his daughter. After that first initial greeting, I felt a warmth of friendliness. His 'first golden star'. Since my repairs were a little extensive, I made the decision to not judge the book by it's cover, but rather by how the mechanics handled my repairs. After my van was ready, the owner came into the waiting area and sit down to tell me exactly what the problems were and how they repaired them. That was his 'second golden star'. At last, a company who respects their women customers and shows compassion. I called Dennis two days ago and told him there was a knocking sound coming from the right passenger side of the van. He told me to bring it in and one of his team members would look at it. When you arrive at Bob Lees's Garage, you drive up inside the garage, park your vehicle, get out and someone greets you with a smile everytime. A 'third golden star'. A mechanic takes your vehicle and gives it an exam and comes back with a diagnosis. Just like a doctor. Too much fun! When Dennis gives you a quote, it is not one that you can't afford. It is really reasonable. A 'fourth golden star'. I took my van back today and received another wonderful repair job from one of his dedicated mechanics and my van never sounded better! I am from out of town (Western New York) and was on vacation in Clearwater with my Fiancée. My car started making a creaking sound in the front end and since I have none of my tools while on vacation, I needed the car looked at the see if I was good to drive back to NY with the creaking. I called Bob Lee's and I spoke with Wayne. He told me to bring the car right over and they would take a look at it. He passed the car onto one of his technicians and in about 5 minutes he found that the passenger front lower control arm bushing was worn out and bad. It was the end of the day on a Friday and he was not able to repair it in time for me to leave but as I was going to pay the charge for the diagnosis of the noise, Wayne told me I was all set to go. I was very pleased with how quickly it was diagnosed, the fact that Wayne waived the charge, and all of the staff was friendly. Would recommend. read more

We went to Clearwater for just two nights, unfortunately our bmw gave us problems. We searched for a repair station and took our chances with Bob Lee. We talked to Dennis. This is our first review ever, only because we were so satisfied with Dennis and his team. He went above and beyond. We were a little scared about the outcome. To make it short excellent work, price was great, and the best, they didn't rip us off. They could have told us everything what is broken or must be fixed, but they didn't. We are very pleased with it, too bad they are not close by this would be our station to go to forever. You guys really made our vacation. Thank you so much. The morning of my driving trip to Chattanooga, my low tire pressure gauge lit up. I went straight to Bob Lee's when they opened at 7:30 am. They immediately assessed the situation, determined that I needed a new tire, had one shipped from their distributor and replaced the tire by 10 am. My trip was saved. I brought my BMW X5 to be looked at and serviced. They repaired my front windows which weren't rolling up and down automatically, which I didn't even have to ask them to do. They checked my vehicle out and let me know about some things that were going on that need to be repaired. Wayne also showed me underneath the vehicle so that I could see what was needing to be done. I bought a used 2011 BMW 550i from a "third party" used car dealer from out of state. The vehicle was solid, but just didn't _sound_ as clean, tight and refined as my previous Bimmer.
