LOVE MOON NAILS!! They have scrubs for your legs and warm towels which is just the best touch to make it seem so nice! But also everyone is so good at doing nails. I have a messed up toe and I will literally fly in to get my nails done here because they are so attentive to detail and making your nails look nice. The queen of that is Kim! She is UNREAL!! As a guy it's weird leaving a review at a nail place but I get pedicures during the summer since I run around anytime not at work in flip flops. I've been here before years ago and it wasn't this bad. I have no words other than the woman (Dana) was bold enough to even ask for a tip. The prices are high as ever and I am more than happy paying the price when the work is done right. $50 for a full set & gel on top. Again, not upset at the prices going up as I understand the need to at this time, but also make sure your employees make it worth it. Arrived as a walk-in at 11:15, and did not leave until 2:30. They said they had room for me, but did not receive service for an hour. When I finally did get service, they would get up and help other clients intermittently in the middle of my service. While I understand they need to multitask, no one should be interrupted 10+ times while getting A FILL. this was a FILL that takes about a fourth of the time at any other salon. It was very clear I was not a priority. They switched nail techs in the middle of my fill, after I asked the first tech to fix the lumpiness and unevenness. When my nails were finally "completed", I was so disappointed and sad as I left when I just wanted to do something nice for myself. My nails were completely inconsistent with no nail looking the same, patchiness, lumpiness, and scratches in the chrome. Not to mention, they burnt my nail bed and cut me multiple times with the drill and file. I am not trying to be a Karen, but again am so so sad about the experience and the result when I just wanted to feel good about myself. read more

I came here on a recommendation. I was primarily interested in a good massage and relaxed experience. while in process, the salon received a call for mani-pedi for two in the next 5 minutes. As two of the three staff were working on my friend and me, and my pedicure hadn't reached the massage stage (my frien's massage was well in progress) I asked to make sure my experience would not be rushed. I was assured it would not be not be and that the salon cannot turn away customers which I completely understand. My friend got a lovely extended massage and great care during the nail painting. The person working on me rushed through everything so she could begin work on the newly arrived person. I am very disappointed and won't be back. read more

I walked in and it was pretty busy but the ladies were really helpful by getting me prepped by starting the process of taking my current gel off. I didn't mind the rush to help bc I was on my lunch break. I was able to get in as soon as Ann was finished with her client. Although Ann was quick, she was efficient, detailed and gentle. She got rid of all of my cuticles but did not hurt me in the process. Also, she painted the entire nail. This is especially important to me bc some salons tend to start the gel color far above the cuticles and miss the sides. I was relieved bc I don't like paying for a service that is partially complete. The tools were clean and bonus: my nails still looked amazing a week in! It's a nice salon because they accept walk in but I don't recommend it, I did powder nails which it's supposed to last 2-3 weeks without falling or breaking and less than a week it was all out, plus I don't think it was as good as other powder nails I've done before. Half way through painting the first coat on she told me to pick another color to complete the second coat because they were out of the polish I chose so she complete had to start over. Just moved to Encinitas and am so excited and happy to find have found this place. Before moving here, I would go to the Nail Lounge in La Jolla proper because the girls there did amazing work with gel manicures. I requested Ann after reading some of the reviews on Yelp and so glad I did. She really does an excellent job with gel manicures and nail art! I came in with a picture that I wanted for a trip to Chicago for the summer and she matched it perfectly. Prices for aren't bad either. I came in around 1130 and shortly thereafter place started picking up with frequent walk-ins (surprisingly several men! Yay for caring about your nails!) and serval regular customers. I can't speak for the other ladies there because I haven't seen their technique (although all were very friendly and hospitable), but Ann was amazing and I am so happy I found her and this place! read more

I've been coming here for years & really disappointed with this place lately. I came here today with my friend that flew in from NY, for a mani/pedi ~ girls day out. They started my friends acrylic nails, while another girl was doing pedicure. Then the gal walked away with only 1 hand having tips, to help a customer that walked in. They didn't say a word to her & when 10 minutes went by, we said something. They just said sorry that we'll have to wait for her to finish with this other customer! Awful customer service. They didn't even massage her feet & now has polish in it! I will not be back again.... Nail places are on every corner in Encinitas ~ it's customer service & quality of the paint job that superstars them, for repeat customers. Very disappointing. read more

She and I had made an appointment, just in case, but we arrived early and they fit us in right away. We were able to sit next to one another and they proceeded to pamper us with a pedicure. Their massage chairs were decent and had a good magazine selection to choose from. While my gf was getting her feet taken care of, another lady took care of her eyebrow wax. When she was done with her, then it was my turn for a wax. I got a french pedicure and my gf got one solid color, but added flowers on her two big toes. OMG, our polish lasted us over a month and remained in great condition! After I took off the polish, I realized that my toenails grew hella long, LOL. She executes every complicated nail art request I show her, even with gel polish. Great selection of quality gel colors! She really takes the time to ensure every nail is perfect. Ann is the best acrylic nail professional in San Diego, and LA!!! I am very picky!! I usually were my nails short I'm a Hair dresser "HAIR BY STACIE", but for4 months out of year I get PINK & WHITE and Ann is the best I have had in all the years getting mine done.
