I have been here a few times now and every time the donuts are amazing! Maple bacon donut is my personal favorite. Their custard donut is great too as I do not believe it is overly sweet. The store is very compact so if you come at a busy time in the morning or on the weekend be prepared to line up outside, but they do a good job of keeping the line moving. If you arrive early in the morning - before 7:30am you should still have a full selection of donuts - any later you are risking some flavors of being sold out. While the donuts here are simply amazing, I can't recommend this place because the menu says half a dozen donuts are $10.50 or $11.50 for a mix and they charge you $13.50. Even with tax that would make no sense because tax doesn't come out to perfectly exact amounts. Be warned, the service seems good, but they overcharge you. If I hadn't had my SO with I would've made a fuss- because that's ridiculous!! I wouldn't recommend. read more

Have been here twice and so far these donuts have been the best donuts on the NW side of the outer edge of the Twin Cities. My husband told me a lady from work brought them in and that they were really good so we had to go there. Have only been to the Monticello store, there is a store in Buffalo as well. I like that this is a privately and locally owned business. They are open 7 days/week. Get there early for better selection. About the donuts: Blown away by their Peanut Btr /Jelly-filled, the Apple-filled donuts, their Maple-Bacon long John, and the Fruity Pebbles donuts... so incredibly good! What makes them so good is the donut dough... their raised donuts are so soft and fluffy, not greasy, quite exceptional. However, we're not fans of the Apple fritters but in talking w/owner it sounds like they are a bit tricky to make. I hope they keep trying! We've also tried the breakfast sandwiches, the ultimate burrito was quite delicious. Had ham/bacon/sausage, eggs, cheese and hash browns- yum! Didn't even need the salsa. They also have smoothies but we didn't try any. We brought extra donuts home. Usually it's best to eat same day, but we wanted to try an overnight challenge (if they can stick around that long!) Generally day old donuts taste stale with increased flavors of cold grease and soggy dough, if filled, or frosting/ glaze that doesn't hold up to the next day. After having 2 filled donuts and a long john on the counter (under cover with some airflow), the donuts were just as good as the previous day. No sogginess or greasy taste, frosting was just as fresh as the day before! Impressive. Highly recommend this place. One recent late morning I was in the area and was looking for a bite to eat before getting back on the interstate to points west. I went past it in search of another place, but in the end decided to check this place out. You walk in and I felt like I was back in Chicago as the place seems similar to many bakery/cafes there. After parousing the menu I decided on a breakfast sandwich and one of their pastries that was long with cream in the middle....along with coffee. Shortly after being seated they brought my order out. The sandwich was pretty good and was full of breakfast meats, eggs, and cheese (on an English Muffin) but the pastry was excellent. The coffee was rather tasty as well. I can't say I'll be in the area soon but if I am, I'll be sure to go back there! read more

We went in around 11 (you can tell from the 1/2 empty case, lol). Donuts are fresh and quite tasty. Loved the maple bacon. Thay also had cakes and cookies to chose from. They also offer breakfast and lunch options. I tried the pulled pork. It was just ok, so I'd stick with the bakery items. We are thrilled to have this local family-owned business. I don't often go to bakeries, but this one is worth repeating a visit. Besides, who doesn't want a maple-bacon donut again and again?
