Took my mom out for dinner on Saturday. She wanted to try kbbq in the local South Bay area. I told her moon bbq is the best.. luckily, we didn't have to wait though the parking in the lot was full. We parked in the streets which says 2 hour parking but I don't think they care. At first glance, my mom was surprised if the choice of meets she could choose from. From the start, my mom started to order 3 meats and she kept ordering more and more. I had to tell my mom to slow down, because our plate and grill was still full of meat. Very small. It's uncomfortable, the round low table design, needs to be reimagined. Seating area was small and squished. Table was low so seating down was a little uncomfortable not much room to move. The smoke while cooking was all over our face so we didn't really enjoy cooking let alone eating but we were already cooking. Moom BBQ is an all-you-can-eat (AYCE) Korean barbecue place! My favorite cut of meat was the spicy pork belly, and my friends favorite was the marinated beef short ribs. The spicy pork belly was tender, sweet, slightly savory, and covered with a spiciness that was perfect with their jiggly, airy, honestly one of the best AYCE steamed eggs I've tried. The short ribs were marinated perfectly and even if slightly overcooked it was extremely tender, smokey, sweet and delicious, my friends absolutely loved this cut of meat and it's no wonder that it is limited to one per person. And I rarely compliment service like this but Moon BBQ had the most attentive and frequent service I've ever had, we probably had around 25 grill changes without asking, and our rotation of waiters would always unexpectedly come to help cut and cook our meats! (Truly thank you so much! We three boys were too scared of the barbeque fires ) Overall Moon BBQ's service was unexpectedly amazing, their marinades are super delicious, and the next time I come I will certainly eat to my heart's desire! read more

It was my first time there. I came in with my two boys. They gave us a table and 2 min after, two caucasian gentlemen came in a they gave them the table next to us. You could tell the difference of service right away! They never ask us what we wanted to drink, the waitress seem rush every time she will ask us what meet we wanted. We ask for water several times and they never brought it. Meanwhile all the waitresses were so nice to the other two guys. Nothing against them, they were really nice. I wanted to say something but my boys didn't let me. Food was amazing I'm not going to lie. But service, they sucked!!! As much as we love the food we are never coming back. My money is as valuable as any other person's money. Just because me and my boys are Mexicans that doesn't mean we don't deserve the same service as any other Caucasian person. Overall: Had a great first time experience! Would definitely go back and highly recommended! Food: Food was delicious. The marinated beef short ribs were specially good and had so much flavor. This place has a lot less meat options than most KBBQ I've been to but I don't think that's an issue at all. Service: The staff were super friendly and really attentive. Very different from some KBBQ places. It made my first visit at this place very pleasant and enjoyable! Ambience: It's the first time I've seen a round table at a KBBQ place, apparently they have these tables in Korea. Very interesting and a fun experience. Everytime I come here I truly enjoy my experience. The staff is very friendly and on top of keeping your needs met. The food is good. It's also a very reasonable price and you have 2 all you can eat options. It is not a large establishment. Space is a tad tight. But being in a manual wheelchair I have been able to get through to my seating area when it is not too busy. The fact that when it is busy its very crowded is its only personal pitfall to me. But not every great spot requires a ton of space. I appreciate this place for what it is. Nice Korean bbq spot that doesn't break the bank in the process. I've also never had an empty drink or side I wanted here even when they are slammed busy. Lots of sides brought to the table upon seating. Kimchi, big salad, pciked goodies. Ordering is swift. Bbq portions are large. The brisket was my personal favorite. If your intent is to go with a large group I would highly suggest you coordinate that with the staff as there is a side room that would likely accomodate this. read more

Delicious small kbbq spot in Gardena- a favorite of most locals. High points are the service, quality of sides, and wide meat variety. The small seating space can be uncomfortable for larger patrons (im 6'5 and could barely fit under the grill table). This could be my imagination, but I believe the seating capacity was reduced during the Covid pandemic. Would highly recommend the bulgogi beef and fiery chicken- both are great quality meat cuts and are deliciously unique. This is coming from someone who normally doesn't bother with chicken at Korean barbecue due to the long cook time. I can't count how many times I've driven past here on my way to work and thought I need to try them out. Recently stopped in to celebrate a friend's birthday and this place was super cute, the service was incredible and super friendly. I have been places where you bbq at the table like this and the servers rush you and are very cold towards you. Here they clearly are very attentive and super nice. The food was very tasty and we ate everything they had to offer. Would have kept going too but 5 out of the 7 of us tapped out so we wrapped it up for the night. Definitely will be back. read more

Great BBQ experience. Boyfriend and I are the first ones in for the day on Sunday. The place got full right after with a steady flow. Opted for option A. The sirloin was yummy. Noodle soup was comforting. Banchan was tasty. The kimchee was sooo good. Pork belly and brisket were good. Everything was really delicious. The dipping sauce were aok. I was curious if they had the spicy kimchee tofu like soup because I love spicy broth with the bbq! I will find out next time. Good place for Korean bbq in the Gardena area if you don't want to drive all the way to K-town.

On a busy Saturday evening, we called around to check on the wait times, while we were already driving in the area on western. If we had to wait, we were gonna get takeout instead. The owner picked up at this restaurant and said "no wait, but people keep coming." We were only two blocks away so we were super happy and drove in. Turns out there were 3 parties waiting, and completely packed seating. There was definitely an ongoing wait from before. The guy clearly lied just to get more business, thinking we were further away. Then it turned out the inside was all "reserved" - he told the non Korean family next to ours that they had to reserve it over the phone. Weird right? Why can't you ask for it when you get there? Sounded like he was reserving it for friends or something. I think the family thought he was being racist because I heard them say something like that. But I think he was just unprofessional to everyone, based on what happened to us (we were speaking Korean). So people kept coming and going right to tables inside and even outside. Not sure if they were reservations but they need to account for that when telling people there's no wait. After waiting about 45 min with a toddler sitting down and touching everything in the dangerous parking lot, we got takeout in an adjacent restaurant and left. We've been here before and the food really wasn't worth a wait, especially with a toddler. I wish they would have given us an honest answer when we called so that we could have made an appropriate decision for our family's situation. Don't tell little white lies to get more customers. The staff is incredibly super duper nice, which stood out, as that's just not the norm for Asian eateries. I love Korean BBQ and as we were entering the place, it smelled tasty. However, we had to leave before we were seated. A few days before, I had made a reservation for a party of 8 over the phone. They assured me I would have my Saturday reservation at 7pm. When we went to check in for our reservation. They claimed they did not have a reservation for us. They gave us rude looks and while I was okay with waiting, they did not give us an estimated wait time. I like to put down reservations for places like this especially for a large party. I didn't appreciate being told that they never had a reservation or a phone call. My cousin ended up cancelling our names off the list because loosing our reservation and not even giving us a wait time was horrible service. When my cousin cancelled, the waiters gave him a nasty look. I wanted to give this place a chance, but I don't think I can give my business to people who are rude to customers. read more

The husband made a good point about not judging it until we actually tried it out but he ended up also regretting eating here. The sides are mediocre, meats were subpar and I was not a big fan of the grill and the seats. I understand that this setting is probably close to how it would be in Korea (don't quote me on this, I'm assuming) but I was just not feeling this place. My go-to for local kbbq. It never disappoints. Meat quality is pretty good for the price. Our fave is the beef bulgogi and short rib. The service is always great. This review is long overdue. I started going to this kbbq spot since 2017. I wasn't into writing reviews which is what took me awhile to write this but it's about time a give credit to where credit is due. First of, it may not be a big spot but I love it. The service is great and the owner at the time(not sure if it's still the same person), was very welcoming and kind. I love how the grills were the old school ones. They've got steamed egg and our fav beef tongue, brisket, and the large intestine. Their macaroni salad is really good too. U def gotta try this place out. Only thing is they don't open till about 4 or 5pm. I forget already. If I'm ever in that area, it's definitely a no brainer. It would be my first choice everytime. Food tasted about the same as every KBBQ place, but more expensive. Service was okay, they change our grill without asking but when I ordered the soup, our waiter offered to put it into our bowls for us, however she didn't seem like she wanted to do it because she was aggressive passing the bowl back to me. Some soup spilled onto my hand, and it hurt since the soup just came out. I also checked in on Yelp for my 2 free drinks and they didn't honor it, they still charged me for 2 drinks, and when I asked for money back they denied me. Moon BBQ! Go for an unforgettable experience! I always order the Option B menu. Two of the menu items are, beef tenderloin, one piece per couple or marinated beef short rib are one piece per person. There's usually no wait every time I have been there but the restaurant is packed. 1. Beef Rib Finger I would recommend for you to order the beef rib finger because it is the best quality meat out of all the other meats I have tried on their menu! 2. Beef Tongue Beef tongue is always one of my favorites but not at Moon BBQ! It was cut into very small pieces and was not appetizing at all. I could only force myself to eat one piece. To me, meat quality is below mediocre and has been going down. For me, service has been good the first few visits but it does take that one bad service experience to even make you reconsider coming back. The service I experienced last night made me very uncomfortable as I tried to use the check-in offer which the waitress said she would give me. However, she proceeded to demand a 'five-star review' and asked me to write it now. I did not comply with her request and it did make my dining experience last night a rocky start. Then, she proceeded to ask me, 'do you want any rice' and 'do you want any drinks,' in which I said no to both and she proceeded to glare at me and had an extremely unhappy expression.
