Absolutely amazing. Oh the Boston Cream Pie is to die for and they have a extreme chocolate cake that is well no words describe how wonderful it is. They are so reasonably priced. Now whenever I have an event where I have to get dessert for, I just call them a day before or two days and go pick it up. I love the old retro style building. They are very nice and sweet. Great customer service read more

I haven't been here but received a Christmas gift at work that was the BEST lemon iced Bundt cake I've ever had in my life from the establishment. When I get back in town I will definitely be scoping the place out to purchase other fare. read more

Texas Torando cookies? Really good. Eclairs - a bit on the small side but delicious. German chocolate cupcakes - my favorite! and they are authentic! I've tried a couple of the pies, and they are good, not great. read more

We have ordered 2 birthday cakes from them and both were amazing. The staff is always extremely polite and courteous. read more

Montgomery Bakehouse - Bakeries Near Me - Conroe, Texas

The baked good are fairly good, but the review is mostly about the lack of public safety and hygiene during COVID-19.  Short story... there isn't any concern for safety!  None of the workers preparing food were wearing masks and none of the people inside were wearing masks.  Had I not have already ordered my cake days ahead, and been vaccinated, I would have walker right out the door.  Very unprofessional behavior in a time of a global pandemic and I will not be back! read more

Avoid the COVID cake. It's a little dry and virus-y. Not one employee had a mask or gloves on. The selfish ignorance is astounding. Makes you wonder if they even wash their hands. I just turned around and walked out. No thanks!! read more

Very disappointed with a cake we ordered this past Monday for pickup today (Friday). Requested a cake for grandsons birthday celebration on Sunday. Wanted a cake decorated with a cow patty on it. Was assured they could do it as they had done it before. Picked it up got it home and there was nothing like a cow patty on it, all I got was a amateur attempt of thin icing swirled around on top of the cake. The wife hit the ceiling called and complained. We were charged $40 for something a four year old could have done better. Returned the cake for a refund (plus the did give us an additional $5). Now we are in a major bind to find a replacement cake. Will not be doing business here again. PS, the 'owner' didnt seem to concerned or even offer an apology. read more

Montgomery Bakehouse - This was what they considered a cow patty - Bakeries Near Me - Conroe, Texas

Not sure why this place gets so many great reviews. I tried the red velvet cake balls, a mini coconut pie, a couple of cookies and a few other items and was not impressed by any of it. Doubt I'll be back. read more

This bakery makes the BEST carrot cake cupcakes! I have tried Frost and those cupcakes are disgraceful in comparison to Montgomery Bakehouse! I'm so excited to have found such an amazing bakery to visit when in Conroe. I can't wait to try a few more items! read more

Great tasting pastries. I love coming here. It's such home cooking pasties and makes you want to keep coming back. I don't live in this area but I come to Conroe just to eat BBQ and eat dessert here. read more

Ordered from them using door dash, the lemon sponge was dry, the cream puff pastry tasted frozen and was dry but the cream was outstanding. The boxes smelled overly much of whatever air freshner they use in the store instead of bakery yumminess. read more

I love the delicious treats from Montgomery Bakehouse but was taken aback when I walked into the bakery today (July 21st) to pick up a cake and none of the employees were wearing masks. Such a surprise given the current state mandates in Texas. read more

I ordered 2 King Cakes from Mongtomery Bakehouse and picked them up Friday evening. The cakes were ready right on time, boxed up and ready to go. I didn't have to wait long to ring up, but during the couple of minutes I did wait I got to look at all the tasty little goodies in the cases - petit fours, cookies galore, cakes, breads, muffins, all kinds of stuff! I will definitely stop by Montgomery Bakehouse regularly and recommend them to others. The employees were very pleasant and thanked me for my business. Also, my King Cakes were VERY TASTY!! read more

I read the reviews concerning staff not wearing mask. I called to ask policy. I was told we don't wear mask by the worker who answered the phone. I said I will no longer be ordering from your store.... good luck. read more

Red Velvet cake balls are addictive in the best of ways( see photo) . Absolutely AMAZINg cake balls !! This is a MUST STOP for anybody living or passing through the region. Great deli and restaurant that serves up some seriously down home cooking .100 stars if yelp allowed it . read more

This Bakery is just plain huge for me anyway. They have all kinds of things that are baked goods for your selection to go with your coffee. They have real nice comfortable rockers, and quite a selection of Breads and cakes. I think it's best to order ahead if you need something and they'll have it boxed up and ready. When I look at what they're doing here it seems that they might actually have quite a business shipping things out so hey you can probably order up. We found our lemon meringue pie to be nice crust was a little stiff, but the lemony flavor came through. Nice little store to stop and get a loaf of bread and get a pie for those who do not bake. Thank you for baking for us we appreciate your hard work read more

I ordered what I thought would be a traditional Carrot Cake. This could not have been anything other than a mix cake. There was no fresh fruit or nuts in the cake and no cream cheese icing. Needless to say I was extremely disappointed. I could have made a box cake just as good for one tenth the price. I called and spoke to a manager, Julie, who laughed during our conversation. She stated that the baker makes big batches at a time. That may be true, however, I still hold that this could have come out of a box. She stated that they do not put fruit or nuts in their carrot cake. I will never again order anything from this bakery. Make sure you understand how the product will be made and what will be in it before you decide to buy. read more

I got alot of treats for Christmas from this bakery. Everything was Great. Right Next door to McKenzie's BBQ and Burger read more

Great cookies, excellent idea to attach it to a BBQ place! I was going to the bathroom and down the hall I got the aroma of baked goods! So after my wife and I finished our meal we paid a visit, got myself a homemade-style sugar cookie, she got a peanut butter cookie. One of the best sugar cookies I've had, it was almost like a cake more than a cookie, similar to old Southern style cookie recipes. Definitely worth a stop. read more

I really enjoy this bakery. Everything is fresh and the staff is super friendly. The treats are always awesome.

We came here once for treats on our vacation, and ordered several things (baklava, cookies, sticky bun, whoopee pie, turtle cake) and everything was SO good that we had to come back a couple of days later! The second trip we got more cookies, a mini lemon pie, a homemade ding-dong, another whoopee pie, and a cupcake to go. My husband got coffee both times and said it was fantastic also. Great service, cute building, fantastic desserts... we LOVED it! read more

Great cake. No problem getting me in during a very busy week. The only issue we had was that it was supposed to be butter cream and the frosting wasn't very buttery. But that's ok! It was still delicious! And the fact they made it the week of graduation when most other bakeries were rude just being asked to make a simple birthday cake in a week, really made my day! Thank you Montgomery! read more

Rude and bland tasting pastries. Twice I've came here and the employees continue talking And don't seem to care about your business. Cakes are average- was not impressed. read more

Everyone was so friendly and helpful! I ordered a full sheet cake for my grandmas birthday; they asked several question to make sure and not miss anything on flavor or decoration. Ordered a carrot cake with cream cheese icing for a Birthday. It was wonderful - all guests said it was the best they had eaten. Also ordered jalepeno cheese rolls and they were a hit also. Employees are friendly and have never had to wait. We are fans of Montgomery Bakehouse. read more

Got a Italian cream cake today... it is not an Italian cream cake, it is a carrot cake without the carrots. Cinnamon is not a ingredient in a Italian cream cake.. they need to learn how to make it correctly. read more

I keep giving this place a chance, and tried it again today. No precautions during the pandemic, and the baked items are not good. Grocery store baked items are cheaper and taste better. Sorry Bakehouse, I'm done. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Wow. Easily best bakery in Woodlands/Conroe area. Moved from northeast back in 1990 and this is FIRST Texas bakery that reminds me of what every little factory town in the north has. FINALLY something more that just do nuts cupcakes and fake kolaches. Loved the sticky buns coffee cake and Danish pastry. Apple strudel crust thin NOT flaky but filling excellent. Raisin bread very good too. Next time I'll try the cream puffs and lady fingers and a loaf of either rye bread or challah. Maybe even take home a pie. For you boring people yes they have cupcakes and their cookies are their best sellers. (What is wrong with Texans. Cookies??? In a place that offers so much more). They should market themselves to all of the Corp offices in the Woodlands and offer free delivery for larger orders I'd be a lot of people would order a mixed tray for morning meetings!!!! Once people try the goods they'll gladly drive the 5-10 miles up to Conroe on off days to satisfy their sweet tooth craving. read more

This is the best bakery around! I live in Spring, but gladly drive up to Conroe for my kids' birthday cupcakes, king cakes, Christmas desserts, etc. Everyone there is very nice and is always willing to accommodate any special requests. I highly recommend Montgomery Bakehouse! read more

So glad this building has been put to good use! This little bakery is just what every town needs. I ordered my husband's birthday cake from here and he loved it! I think the price was reasonable for the sheer massive weight and size of the cake! While I was there to pick up the cake, I had some coffee (very good) and I picked up some doggie cookies for the pup! Their desserts look so good! I want to try them all! read more

Beware! Lost a customer in me and my family. I ordered two pies for thanksgiving and paid for them online. The store says online they close at 7PM but they called me at 4:45PM to tell them they were closing in 15 mins. I ended up going to Goode company and buying pies from them. We called Montgomery Bakehouse back several times but no one picked up, then I called them on Friday I called to see if maybe I could get a credit and get pies closer to Christmas Day and they said nope that this was my fault. I think this place is poorly owned/managed and lacks customer service. They have lost me and my family as customers! Nowhere online or on the phone recording does it notify customers of the time they closed for the holiday. Instead of giving me two fresh pies, they gave me the pies that sat in their fridge for two days. We verified that the owner made this decision, not the "team lead". This business does not care about their customers! Goode company pies are better anyway! read more

I ordered a cake for my daughter's birthday and it was OK at best. No one really liked it. The decor was tacky and looked like a kid did it. I didn't have time to get another so I had to use it. We were very disappointed. read more

Ugliest cake I've ever had from a bakery! It was clear no effort was put into this cake. A GROCERY STORE BAKERY HAD TO FIX IT so it would be even remotely worth putting out at the party for my daughters important day! Even the grocery store bakery manager shook her head when she saw it. On top of that it was dry and tasted refrigerated. Definitely not worth the drive to Conroe, but even if I did live near it I'd never be back. read more

My daughter was responsible for bringing dessert to Christmas dinner. She picked up a mixed berry cobbler from Montgomery Bakehouse and some Blue Bell ice cream. Let's just say the dessert was over the top! We really enjoyed the cobbler. Full of fruit and sweet, but not to sweet. Love the new location and the selections. We are regulars! read more

I came here for the first time last week. I was busy looking over all the sweets in the cases and the woman 'helping' me seem annoyed with her job and not the least bit happy that I didn't know immediately what I wanted. I explained it was my first time. She just stood there stone faced. She maintained with an attitude the entire time I was there up to the checkout process. I was initially excited to get some tasty sweets but the experience was so off-putting that I don't even know if the baked goods were good enough to go back. read more

Walk in and the smells are WONDERFUL! Great friendly service. Everything tastes AWESOME! My goal is to start with one of everything and start over. Definitely recommend! read more

Go ANYWHERE else for a wedding cake! Ordered cream cheese frosting, got gritty buttercream. Top tier was so lopsided, guests referred to it as the leaning tower of Pisa. I provided the banding, which was placed uneven. Paid over $200 for a cake that would have been prettier and tastier letting my 9 year old make it. Called over 6 times asking to speak with the manager. Was told 3 times he would call me back. Finally spoke with the "baker" of my cake, who was actually just an order taker, who offered me $25 in return. Please please please do not depend on Montgomery Bakehouse for any special occasion. We don't get a do-over for our wedding reception. Our cake was a joke. read more

This place is absolutely fantastic! they have some of the best Italian butter cookies that remind me of being with my family in New York. I will and have driven completely out of my way to stop here before road trips. The staff is friendly and helpful. Their deserts are adorable and festive. It is an all around amazing bakery!
