When my meal arrived I tried a scallop and it was awful. Cut another one in half and tried it...still terrible. Ate a few of the fried shrimp which were lukewarm warm at best and decided...wow, this meal sucks. The potato was fair. A server came and asked if I was done and I said yes...it wasn't very good at all and he could certainly see that I didn't even eat a 1/4 of my food. When my partner was done with his meal, which he enjoyed, the female bartender took his plate away and I said his meal was good, mine was awful. Both of the workers that I spoke with about my meal couldn't care less. I suppose it was my fault for not asking for a manager, but as someone who has worked in restaurants, one of the employees should have done something...anything to show they cared and tried to make things right. Left a $7 tip on a $70 bill (which was generous, considering my bad meal) This place has been hit or miss and this night was a huge MISS. Definitely won't ever come back to this location. We will drive the extra 20 minutes and go to the Abingdon location. Never had a bad meal there and the service has always been top notch.

I ordered a burrito with shrimp, octopus, a whole poblano, avocado, shredded cheese all inside the burrito. I also asked for a lot of limes on the side. They came out after we took our order to go so he could check on it because he asked me numerous times about the cheese I wanted. I had said I do not want anything on top of my burrito and hate the liquid cheese. The person who made my burrito used the liquid cheese, similar to nacho cheese consistency on top. No shredded cheese inside. So they didn't give my bf his cheese sauce he paid for. My burrito was nasty. They didn't put a whole poblano, the first half of the burrito had a few small pieces of poblano, barely any octopus, no shredded cheese inside, they didn't give me any limes. I HATE this crap cheese sauce that "mexican" food places use in Tennessee. Legit Mexican food places don't use this fake liquid cheese. My bf said his nachos were good. Problem is.. I was on the toilet all night because of this cheese. I say this because it was the same cheese they put on his nachos and... he was sick to his stomach for the rest of the night and then he had his turn on the toilet.

**April 2025: Wednesday Late Afternoon Visit**…read more My friend and I were driving from Charleston, West Virginia to Pigeon Forge, Tenneesee and needed to rest and eat before heading to our destination. We're both from southern California so we have high expectations for Mexican food. When we entered we were plesantly surprised by the warm and colorful atmosphere. The chairs and tables had beautiful carvings and it just put a smile across my face. My friend and I each ordered a dish and honestly we probably could have shared one entree since the portion was enormous. Flavors tasted authentic and it was very filling. We had a ton of leftovers. Overall, a solid spot to enjoy some ethnic noms.

What really annoys me is all the upcharges and "service" fees and card fees. They add them to your bill before even knowing if you are using a card. And most of the time I use cash. Also it is against the CC laws to charge fees on a debit card, but they get by with it. I have had $5-6 extra fees on meals, so I quit going.

The sausage tasted like burnt beef with chorizo grease to me. The tacos de carne asada were completely flavorless. The meat was browned and it tasted like that's it, not even browned in its own fat. It reminded of eating at your dreaded aunts house who don't even know what salt and pepper is. Then they tossed some onions and cilantro on it and called it a taco. I wasn't a fan, husband said it was tolerable when you added the red salsa they served it with. However the rice and beans again flavorless, so much so my husband didn't finish the side dish and that NEVER happens. For a small town with not much else to offer they had food and it was semi edible. Personally I wouldn't return but husband said he would give it another chance. That's why we are at three stars.
