Overpriced glasses. Even with insurance I walked out paying them $1,000 for two pair of glasses. One for everyday use and another one for computer use. I tried to cancel one of them and the optician/receptionist freaked out as if her boss would reprimand her for giving me a refund. I ended up paying for the two pairs and I checked online to see the price of them and would have only paid $350 for both of them had I bought them online and just used the prescription. In essence, after insurance, I walked out paying $1,300 total. read more

Place is clean and very knowledgeable. Good selection on frames as well. However after my vision check up, I was surprised to hear the glasses I wanted were almost 1000 bucks. Even the china version glasses were well over 600 bucks. I will say my insurance is through the state but after leaving Montebello Optometry, I ended up buying some brand name glasses with all the bells and whistles for roughly 300 bucks. I just don't understand how anyone can charge 1000 bucks for a pair of glasses. This madness needs to stop. I scheduled an appointment for an annual exam and they made sure to send remainder texts and called to confirm my appointment. I was greeted at reception with professionalism and everyone explained everything clearly. They made sure I felt comfortable during the whole process. I'm glad I found Dr Zamora, my mom and dad had never had such an in depth eye exam. My mother is diabetic and needs yearly exams and my dad has used glasses almost all his life. The fact that both of my parents had never been explained by past Optometrist about an anti-glare coating, blue light blocker, and UV protection to protect their eyes from further damage is baffling to me. Going to a franchise Optometrist like Costco, Walmart etc.... is definitely not an option if you want good quality service. Dr Zamora is the only Dr at this office and she personally examines each patient and does not rush the exam and answers every question fully. I have 4 stars because the glasses are a bit pricey, but I was willing to pay the full amount for both of my parents because I want them to have the best and do not want to deal with an outside company. The delivery did take almost 3 weeks because of covid19 delays and it's understandable, But if you want your prescription they will gladly give it to you. Overall I'm very happy with Dr Zamora, she also discovered my mom has mild bleeding in one eye and we quickly contacted my moms ophthalmologist. Thank you Dr Zamora, my sister will be coming in next and I'm certain she will also have an amazing experience. FYI: You definitely get what you pay for at this office, awesome service. read more

This is my first time coming to Montebello optometry and right away my experience has been great and has exceeded my expectations. You come in and everything looks nice, bright and clean. I didn't have to wait long before being called in. I have horrible anxiety because of covid so I'm the type to cancel because of that and I'm just glad I didn't cancel because right away Judith, jessenia and Dr. Zamora made me feel comfortable. Their voice is very calming and that's something we need when we're prone to anxiety attacks when going to new places. They each took time to explain what each procedure was for and to let me know if my insurance covered or if there would be a copayment which I really appreciated. I bought a package through Groupon to get an eye exam. The optometrist gave me what felt like a rushed eye exam and added extras to my prescription glasses to nearly double of what I have paid in the past. To make matters worse, they withhold your prescription until you pay what they claim is a difference from the package bought through their deals. On top of all that, all glasses are from high end brands that begin at 150 dollars and up. So, bottom line: if you're rich, you'll love this place. If you actually work for a living, go somewhere else. read more

I totally ignored the few negative Yelp reviews and I'm glad I did. First of all, I'd like to say...that the only thing that made me hesitant about my appt. was when they told me that if I didn't cancel 24 hours prior, I'd be charged $40. But......they reminded me a week before, (through text) and for 3 days prior to my appt. even the morning of my appt. soooo theres really no reason to miss your appt. unless you're in a car accident or something really unexpected happens last minute (hopefully not). But anyhow....office is clean, staff is friendly, nice, & welcoming! Dr. Zamora explains everything well. I absolutely loved the experience and will be sending the rest of family here! I wrote most of this review with dilated eyes because I was THAT happy to write this review!! A blind spot appeared in my vision over 3 weeks ago, immediately I go to see an ophthalmologist to get my eyes checked and see what's going on. The DR completely lacked communication! Desperately scared for my vision, he sent me home saying he couldn't see anything and practically left it at that. I had to communicate and ask question and was told if it got any bigger to call. I started experiencing more problems with my eye, specks of lights, eye pressure etc. a week late, so i returned and again could not see anything with my eye so then I was referred to a retinal specialist. When I left the office I asked if he suggested I take on a certain diet/supplements and he literally wooshed me away with his hand saying "no just wait for the retinal specialist"... he didn't care at all about my situation. A week later I seen the retinal specialist where I was misdiagnosed with uveitis, AN EYE BLINDING DISEASE and the DR told me "I'm certain that this is what you have" told me there was" nothing I can do, this is something that would go away on its own" I was given a print out of my visit and diagnoses with a description of Uveitis which stated this eye blinding condition MUST be treated RIGHT AWAY TO PREVENT GOING BLIND!! I immediately called after leaving their office and asked why I wasn't given any medication and was told I didn't have active symptoms and that's the reason why. I left worse than ever feeling no one was taking my vision seriously and all DR are just after the money. My stress and fear for my vision skyrocketed from there. My lovely therapist referred me to Dr. Zamora after I explained to her what I had been experiencing with my eye and terrible experiences. Dr. Zamora was beyond expectations and was SO caring and sensitive towards my situation. She truly listened and answered any and every question I had until my mind was at peace. She thoroughly examined my eyes at each and every angle, even flipped my eye lids back wards! She did things that both the ophthalmologist and retinal specialist didn't even come close to doing! I came across Montebello Optometry Eye Clinic and Dry Eye Center and this place had amazing reviews. I called to set up an appointment and this has been my Optometry of choice for a while now. Appointment times are accurate at every visit and Dr. Zamora is amazing. She genuinely cares about her patients and always answers my questions or concerns I have at my visits.
