Wonderful mall to go shop at and find stores with great discounts. There's also your typical up and coming fashion stores and stores you may never even heard of. Went here yesterday with my kids. OMG! What happened....I heard on the news malls were doing poorly but it was still serial. I first noticed it when I parked. There was no one, ample places to park in the shade. :/ We went in through the main entrance near Macy's. All the rides were gone. So many stores empty or missing. The biggest shock was the food court. Where was McDonald's or the pizza place!? The only one I recognized was Panda Express. Where did Mrs. Fields Cookies go? Maybe they went out of buisness. But it was sad. My kids still had fun though. It was clean and open. The staff at the stores were nice. We went to Shoe Palace, Footlocker, Japanese Lifestyle, Hot Topic, Candy Store, and F.Y.I. I really enjoyed the Japanese Lifestyle store my son got a stuffed animal. I really wanted all the Fairy Tail and One Punch man stuff. :) F.Y.I was just sad compared to what it used to be. But I did notice you could still make your own cds. So that was cool. read more

Montclair Place - Shopping Centers Near Me - Montclair, California

This mall satisfies my shopping urges that I have once in awhile. It has the main stores that I go to such as Forever21, H&M, Cotton On, Nordstrom, Sephora, and Victoria's Secrets. There is not much to complement or complain about this mall. They remodeled this mall so it looks a lot nicer now. This mall is also not too huge that you will get lost in, which I like about. It has all the essential stores. So come check it out! read more

I used to come here ALL THE TIME growing up.. this was THE mall to go to.. because we didnt' wanna get shot at the Carousel Mall or the Inland Center Mall in San Bernardino! But alas.. no matter how many renovations this mall wants to do.. it will never live up to the current malls and shopping areas of today.. The stores are standard.. nothing that stands out.. The food court is just sad.. half of the area is boarded up because those don't have anything in them.. even though the food court sitting area is rather nice.. there's hardly any food to choose from! I'll have to be honest and say that the remodel did make this place look better.. the stores didn't change and there's nothing that makes it more appealing than Victoria Gardens.. I purchased a video game system, from a mall kiosk. The game system was sold to me broke. The game was not able to be used at all. I returned to the mall in to look for the business and they were gone. I contacted the mall to request contact information for the company that sold me the game. I received a couple of phone calls from the mall but they never gave me the contact information. Allowing kiosks to operate for a short-time is inviting businesses to take advantage of the people that shop at the mall. These businesses know they can sell an inferior or defective product and then disappear before the customers notices there is a problem. read more

I really don't like that place in the mall....the mall is a family with kids shopping area not a bar drinking area that should be outside the mall...plus all the customers over there smoke their cigarettes right in front of the mall entrance and throw the cigarette buds in front of the mall entrance that is very bad for the mall the smell and the look read more

I really want to give this place 4.5 stars because it was okay. We arrived around 5 PM on a Sunday and it was packed. The great thing was that the lines moved pretty quickly. We went for my friends daughters birthday and got fun cards for both of my boys. The games were cool to play but they kepts messing up so we kept getting refunds. There was one employee named Justin who always took care of us and didnt hesitate to help. The place was really busy so I expect a mess but it could have been better. I know this mall has been around for ages, but I have yet to really walk through the entire place. This mall isn't a busy place. I mainly come here for the mobile store or if I need to go to one of the department stores on the outside. While coming here recently, I did notice that there are a lot more empty stores than there had been before. It's a decent local mall to go to if you don't want to be in your typic mall crowd that you get at other large malls. I like this mall. Good chain stores like macys, sears, jcpenny, nordsrom rack. Please BEWARE of those israelis working at the kiosk angels spa. They sell dead sea lotions and cosmetics that it is a total fraud and scam. I was robbed and scammed from one of the workers there. They harass you all the time. They are an ilicit organization. I've been shopping here since I was a kid, and on a rainy day when I don't want to deal with the weather at VG or the crowd at Ontario Mills, I hit up old reliable Montclair Plaza. The "renovations" just included adding some nicer stores. Sephora, Coach, H&M and a MAC store are all I have noticed. The bathrooms are still just old and going into Sears takes me straight back to 1987, fashion included! Still, I like the lay out and the selection of stores is acceptable. read more

This mall is like any other mall that has the common stores you would see. I do like that there is some non-chain stores that you will not find at other malls and I don't live near here but I have seen improvements of this mall over the years. The layout and structure of this mall is different and almost similar to Glendale mall but just in a smaller scale. If you are bored and have some time to clean they have a research location where you can go conduct research and get paid for it. read more

I was spoiled growing up by some incredible malls, so early on I was a little skeptical of Montclair Plaza when I saw how run down it appeared. Despite the fact that it's not very impressive looking, Montclair Plaza turned out to be a perfectly ok spot for basic shopping. I wouldn't call it am impressive or exciting mall by any means (I can't imagine hanging out here), but it has all of the basic stores and was perfectly fine for meeting my basic needs as the mall nearest to my college. It had ample parking, and I was usually able to find what I needed. Do I look back on my shopping trips to Montclair Plaza with any sort of nostalgia? Not a chance! However, my experience was perfectly unenthusiastically acceptable. read more

This mall has been my go to mall for quite a while but not my favorite. It is getting new stores in and more fast food/ small restaurants so the place is improving. They are expanding a bit with adding a AMC Theater. read more

Overall this mall is only decent, nothing spectacular. I go to the Montclair Plaza sometimes because its convenient for me but I definitely would not go out of my way to go here if I lived elsewhere. They've redone the inside so it looks nice and modern but a lot of the outside still looks really ugly and outdated. On the Macy's building, you can even see stains on the wall from where it used to say 'Robinsons May.' You would have thought that they could atleast paint over it or something but I guess not. A few years ago they added some stores but a lot of cool stores have also closed down. The main thing this mall really has going for it is the Nordstrom. Other than that the other relevent stores they have include Hollister, PacSun, Tilly's, Victoria's Secret, American Eagle, Zumiez, H&M, Forever 21, Vans, Sephora, etc., so there's actually a decent selection. The main downside about this mall though is that a lot of the people who come here are of the 'ghetto' variety. There has been a lot of car break-ins so in the parking lot there are these signs that tell you to 'Lock your car, Take your keys, Hide your belongings.' I think its pretty sketchy to see that. Its also pretty weird seeing a homeless person outside of the mall entrance asking for money. My sister has seen two guys start a fight randomly right inside of the mall one time that she came. Some days it isn't that bad but others all you'll run into is these weird people. So all in all, unless you live by this mall and its convenient for you, I'd just skip it. Its nothing special at all and I'd much rather go to the Victoria Gardens or the Brea Mall. read more

It's a very typical mall with most of the standard chain stores you'd expect. It's fairly small and really I mostly used to go here for the department stores. They renovated a bit since the last time I was in here and seem to be continuing that so it's good that they're trying to not let it fall behind the times. I've been here on several occasions to shop for all sorts of things, whether it was to make a stop at Penney's for clothing, get a watch battery replaced, purchase my wedding shoes, or even just to pick up some bridal party gifts (I won't mention which store I bought them just in case any of them check this review ;) ). Anyhow, this mall is in the process of a remodel. I like the multiple garages to park in, which is especially handy on those hot days. There are plenty of restaurants and other shops that are part of the complex too. So you can really get a lot of things accomplished here. I like how the mall isn't way too overpriced, yet not too bargain basement priced either. It fits my budget along with those who say want to make that shopping spree stop to Nordstroms (they even have the cafe). Now that I'm in the area, this will be my top mall shopping stop over the Westfield in West Covina anyday. read more

This mall is definitely beyond it's prime, but it still has quite a few stores to match the newer malls so it's not bad for some local shopping. Being an indoor mall it's nice when So Cal has rainy weather. Ever since Robinson's May went out of business, Macy's took over their old location (they moved from the East to the West side of the mall) and Macy's old location has been vacant ever since (for more than three years now). Overall, I really don't think of this mall first when I want to go shopping, especially with The Shoppes in Chino and Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga, but it's still there if I need it for anything. read more

Likes: Clean, airy and a seemingly large shopping mall. Maybe I just need to exercise more but walking from one end to the other takes forever. Then again, all the stores I pass by that serve as distractions might contribute to that feeling too ;) The mall includes a variety of stores like Macys, JC Penny, H&M, Forever 21, VS, Sidecca (yay!), candy store, pretzels and cinnabons, pricey jewelry stores I pass right by, etc. Parking also has never been an issue for me so that's a plus. Panda Express in the food court - zero stars if possible. Sent g-daughter in with my debit card & they demanded additional ID along with PIN. Because names didn't match, they refused to sell her food. I'm bedridden but Panda Express expects me to personally present ID - impossible. Complained to corporate and was told "they are allowed to do that". It's not mandatory, but based on a clerks feeling. It's DISCRIMINATION against disabled and anyone who just doesn't "look right". They will lose a lot of customers because of this. read more

The mall ain't that good. There's only a few good stores, Nordstrom, Barnes 'N' Nobles, and some others that I don't go to regularly. It's fairly clean and nice due to recent renovations but it really didn't add much to it. It's not horrible, good, or average. It's just bad. Also, it doesn't help that one of the most promenient stores seen from the I-10 has been empty for a few years now. When the family and I do not want to drive to Brea Mall, Ontario Mills or Victoria Gardens, we make the visit to Montclair Plaza. The make over has helped the mall and they have some good stores. This place is nothing spectacular but it is not the worst mall in the IE. 3 stars, A-OK! read more

Without clothes, there is the food court, and several other eateries. However, there is no cinema at this establishment. Despite that, there is also a book store. Wow! This mall has really perked up! I came here on President's Day and I was so glad I did! The Macy's was having a killer sale on their clothes so I made out like a bandit. The mall looks much nicer than I remember and there are a few new shops in there. Sadly, my brother said the food court disappeared so that's a bit of a bummer, but there are plenty of places to eat outside of the mall. I was so happy to see the Barnes and Noble there because they closed the location in Pasadena (my location); the closest location is in Glendale, which can be a bear to get to since it's in the American and the parking is outrageous there. Come here if you're looking for shoes!! There's a bunch of shoe stores located at the Montclair mall, for men and women. I feel like this place mainly caters to girls though as most of their clothing stores are for younger women/high school girls. They have a Rue21 also, which I had never seen before since they have so few storefronts. But they have cute clothes for girls. The worst part of this mall is their lacking food court! They used to have a Sbarros, Taco Bell and a McDonald's! I loved coming here. Now the food court is replaced with small no name places. Also, I'd say about 30% of the mall is empty spaces and another 30% of the remaining stores are stores that just don't belong in a mall. The only reason I come to this mall is for Papaya clothing since they closed their location in Ontario Mills. Or if I am looking for shoes since there are many places to choose from. Too bad they can't get this place up and running again. I like that it's never really packed like at Victoria gardens or Ontario mills. It would be a nice mall if they could remodel the place and add better stores. read more

This is a review solely based on our Santa picture experience. I have been going to the Montclair Plaza now Place for over 20 years now. I have almost always taken my kids for Santa pictures to this location. Even when my husband wanted other locations, I insisted on this one. It is a nice setup. More elegant looking. Out of the 16 years I have taken my kids for Santa pictures about 12 of them have been at this location. We have a new baby now so I have continued to go there despite our teenage boys being over the Santa pictures. We arrived last night 2 hours before closing for the Santa pictures, not the mall. Santa picture location closed earlier than the mall. We knew closing time because we checked the website. No one was there to greet us so we walked right in line as did maybe another 20 people after us. After we stood in line for over an hour a security guard walks by to inform guests in line that we might not be seen because they close down promptly at 8, no exceptions. We were rightfully upset that no one told us that before standing in line for over an hour. My husband was upset and had a discussion with the security guard over how that should have been mentioned long ago. Not to mention, that's when they decide to close the line and not let anymore guests in line. We continued to wait for the possibility to be seen because for our family it was almost an all day thing to get ready for these pictures and we had already stood in line for so long. When it came time for us to go up. A female employee with red hair, eagerly walks up to tell me that the group before us was the last group that would be seen, depending on the time. Never apologized, just walks up says that and leaves almost with a smug smirk. I knew at that point what was going on. My husband and I both looked at each other and knew. They had purposely and gladly made it to where our family would not take pictures last night. Based on the interaction with the security guard earlier. We spoke to the manager, he just argued his way through an explanation saying that all day long they had been telling guests. Well no, no one other than the security guard said something after we waited over an hour. They left so many families without Santa pictures and just close up. At 8 they relieved Santa of his shift. Stood there chatting with him and then walk over and say, we're closed for tonight. To the manager's point why would you even tell people all day long if it really only applies to closing time. He was busy taking the pictures, multi tasking while his employee kind of leisurely walked back and forth bringing guests up to Santa. He looked like he was doing too much while his employees were not doing enough. Families were allowed to literally do wardrobe changes and take a very long time taking pictures and then made the last few groups rush through their pictures. It was clear to me that we were purposely held from taking our pictures. The female, red head employee yelled at my husband that she was not going to give her name and that it was her right not to give her name. He asked her name because no one wears name tags. The manager argued until something clicked after minutes, then apologized. How do I break a long standing tradition with my kids because employees don't do their job right and then treat customers so poorly? That's completely disheartening. We don't even live close by. We drive out to keep our tradition going. There is no coming back from that. And it dampers our Christmas tradition. Montclair Place managment please ensure the people you contract for Santa Pictures do their job right. These aren't just Santa pictures to some of us. UPDATE: we returned 2 days later and arrived 3.5 hours before Santa left. Got to see him. Line was literally cut off after us and about 10 more parties were allowed to stay in a separate line and were told that they might not get to see Santa. The line was closed behind them. All others were turned away for over an hour. I saw a pregnant mom crying because her little ones weren't able to take Santa pics. Entire families dressed in their Christmas best were turned away. That is ok if you are going to be straight across the board. Then a very loud mom showed up and would not take no for an answer. It got very heated. They finally agreed to let her in line. Then another family that had been previously turned away, was let in line. Then all of a sudden the second line was opened again to let in many more that were told they might not get to see Santa. That is nice but it should have been done all along. I can't help but think of the families that were turned away, while those that came later were let in line. To those let in line. I used to live near this mall, so I came here a lot just because it was nearby and it's convenient just to make a quick stop to Hallmark or Nordstrom and I pretty much know where most of the stores are. I would only come to this mall if I am in the area, otherwise I would stay clear.
