When we arrived we waited a little bit even though we have reservation but its fine. Someone assist us to our table , she told us to wait for our server. When the server came she asked us what to drink, and serve it to us that time we our ready to order when she gave us the drink but when she put the drink in the table she left right away without asking us if we're ready, we let that passed and then when they serve our food they gave us our order without the cajun onion and told us they run out, that is still acceptable but the fact that she is very disrespectful in bussing our table she is rude, she also just throw the candies in the table when we are going to pay, and when we already paid she asked for receipt in a rude tone and throw the receipt in our table! I'm so disappointed and I'm not gonna recommend this place to my friends.

Beer & Bloody Mary yum!
Mary S.

Came here randomly before AND after a movie with my fiance and surprisingly enjoyed it! We always drive by Montana's but I don't think I have gone in the past 10 years or so. He was craving ribs so it worked out great. They make a great bloody mary (check out pics) in a cute little mason jar. My fiance had the large pork baby back ribs w/mashed potato, corn bread & side of corn. I had the harvest salad which was really yummy and a good portion. We split the skillet of mushrooms...these were YUMMY! They were button mushrooms and were sizzling for a while after they were brought to the table. Yum! So before the movie we just had drinks and on the bottom of the bill it said that if you fill out a survey online they will give you a free appetizer $9.99 or less when you spend $25+ on your next meal. So I completed that after our drinks and for dinner when we came after the movie used it for a free calamari appetizer! Great deal! You have to use it within 21 days from your visit. We got another one with the dinner receipt as well. If you're around a Montana's I would def suggest giving it a try, you may be surprised :)

went there with my son for lunch on the off time. The hostess was great and knew what the specials were without reading it.

Shame on me really, this place sucked before it closed down, they reopened a few years ago and that…read morewas terrible, and it still is. I'll give them that there was a brief window in the middle there where they were lovely. We ordered for the food to be picked up at 6:15, arrived and paid at 6:12, they said 5 min. Well then we watched 8 other families, leave with giant bags of food. People who came after us etc. of course they could have ordered ahead too, so the first few didn't occur that maybe we have a problem. We went back to check and a look of horror crossed the kids face, and I knew they'd given it away to others. Everyone then disappeared and went to the kitchen in a mad dash to make our food. When we got it they shoved it at us and I said I wanted to check it for accuracy. It had been wrong the last time , and when I had arrived I mentioned to the person that it had been wrong and if they could please make sure that the hot chicken sandwich gravy was included. He told me that the gravy covered sandwich in the menu didn't come with gravy - untrue , went to "verify" and found out he was wrong. Anyways, I digress, I began checking my order and sure enough missing my 12oz of chalet sauce we paid extra for. They want to give me free dessert. Yes because I want to spend another 20 min with you. No thanks. I said no thank you I don't want anything from you but a refund for my missing item - to which the manager said I was "ridiculous" his words, he couldn't refund me. Cool thanks so you're straight up stealing now. Anyway I have learned my lesson and hopefully this helps you too. The restaurant is dirty, every table had garbage on it, and the staff are rude.

The food here is the same, normal, swiss chalet we all grew up with. So delicious!…read more Service was wonderful, our server was so kind, efficient and polite. The restaurant was very quiet, but well maintained!

I had always wanted to visit here and heard good things, so I'm glad we came and experienced it, but wouldn't ever come back. It did take a few minutes for our server to come over and take our drink orders. I asked him a couple of questions about the menu, and he seemed like he really didn't want to be there. We ordered the grilled cheese sandwich with fries and a hot hamburger sandwich with onion rings. To drink, we just had a coke/pepsi and a water. It took a good 20 mins to get our food (again, it was steady, but not crazy busy) and as soon as I saw my meal, I was disappointed. The gravy on my burger was this dark brown, not appealing look or flavor to it. You could tell it was just a bad powder mix and it really did not taste good at all. The burger patty itself was fine. The bread that came with it, was just a white piece of bread and if it was toasted that would have made a bit of a difference. The one thing I did like about my meal were the onion rings. At least they were good. My spouse's grilled cheese and fries were decent. Nothing special. Just a regular grilled cheese. That's kind of his go to when nothing else looks great on the menu (and we just had a good burger the night before). While we were eating, I was watching the staff and the incoming clients. The diner's computer system went down, so they weren't able to put in orders or calculate a bill. They were telling clients that orders wouldn't be submitted for at least a half hour or 45 mins. The system was definitely down at least 40 mins (while we ate and waited for our bill). We asked for our bill, and our server said they wouldn't be able to give it to us for another half hour. I said, no, you should be able to calculate it manually. Especially that their debit card system was still able to process payments. So this wasn't payment issue where they couldn't accept anything. This also doesn't make sense that they couldn't take people's orders and just write it down to give it to the kitchen. I understand that an online system may calculate inventory and orders, but as a temporary solution, just give the kitchen a hand written order and then enter it into the system later. Like how did they do it before the system was installed? We ended up paying cash and left. A couple of things to note, I wish I would have ordered breakfast. The menu says it's only available until 11:30am, but another couple came in and ordered some breakfast items. I wish I would have asked if there was all day breakfast. Overall, I'm glad we visited the diner, but we wouldn't go back. The food was not good at all and it was pretty disappointing. (I don't give 1 or 2 stars very often, but this definitely was a 1 star review).

On my way to be seated, I walked past the lunch buffet which looked liked there were plenty of tasty offerings. However, I went with a recommendation of the steak sandwich. First of all, it's not a sandwich. It actually is a steak with two half pieces of garlic Texas toast that comes with Cole slaw and a side. For my side, I opted for a tossed green salad. The quality of the meal was just so so, but my experience of a nice wait staff and the price ($11.95) elevated the rating to 4 stars.

After ~3 years & trying several things on the menu, I've learned to stick to 1 thing. The chef's salad, but even then you're not guaranteed to receive the same sized plate/bowl or that it will contain the same ingredients from visit to visit. I've tried sandwiches, wraps, potato skins, burgers, desserts, soups, etc. Many times the dishes are overcooked, so they're dry, dark in colour, & sometimes a husk of their former selves. If they're not overcooked, some are just not particularly tasty. Asparagus soup. A "chocolate" dessert that tasted very un-chocolate-like. Etc. The dining area has quiet corners which makes it an ideal restaurant for conversation. Something not easy to come by, these days. So, I enjoy the quiet, dimly lit corners, the pleasant staff, and try to eat before meeting friends. Or I order the salad...
