Monster Mini Golf Review: A Disappointing and Frustrating Experience
My recent visit to Monster Mini Golf was nothing short of infuriating, and I feel compelled to share the experience as a warning to others, especially families with special needs children or those expecting a fair and enjoyable outing. The management's arbitrary rules and lack of consideration for diverse needs turned what should have been a fun activity into a rushed, stressful ordeal.
Upon starting our game, we were informed that due to the course being "busy," we were limited to a maximum of five shots per hole. This rule was enforced without any prior warning or signage, and it immediately put us at a disadvantage. I was golfing with my special needs child, who naturally requires more time and attempts to navigate the course, and another mini-golfer who isn't as skilled. Certain holes, with their tricky layouts, clearly demand more than five shots for players who aren't seasoned golfers. This one-size-fits-all restriction felt discriminatory and completely disregarded the needs of players with varying abilities. To make matters worse, we received no discount or compensation for this imposed limitation, despite paying full price for what was essentially a restricted experience.
The situation was exacerbated by a group of nine players directly in front of us. This group was blatantly disregarding the pace of play, taking well over five shots per hole, texting on their phones, and engaging in lengthy conversations. They frequently stood on the opposite side of the holes, blocking our path and forcing us to wait 10 minutes or more to take our turn. Adding to the frustration, there was no one behind us, meaning the course wasn't nearly as "busy" as the staff claimed. The staff did nothing to address this group's behavior or enforce the supposed five-shot rule on them, leaving us feeling singled out and rushed while others were allowed to dawdle without consequence.
The inconsistency in rule enforcement, combined with the lack of accommodations for players with special needs, made us feel unwelcome and undervalued as customers. Monster Mini Golf's failure to manage the course effectively or communicate their policies upfront ruined what could have been a fun family outing. I strongly urge others, especially those with children who may need extra time or support, to reconsider visiting this location until they address these serious issues. Save your money and your patience for a venue that respects all its guests.
