This arcade blows the others out of the water. Seriously, the coolest place ever. I dump out my pocket books and the kids play for hours. Many of the games are circa mid 1900's and cost between 1 and 25 cents (really). Oldschool pinball machines, fortune teller, skeeball, shooting games, you name it, I love it! Also a photobooth that takes Susan B. Anthony coins (ask the front desk). There are other games as well that are newer and give tickets. There's a bunch of old kiddie rides for a quarter (horse, carousel, etc...). The beach itself is very clean and well maintained. There are water slides that the kids have a blast on. Paddleboats for $8/ 1/2 hour. Showers, bathrooms, giftshop that sells shovels, pails, etc, concession stand (that has the best hot dogs I might add.) Parking is good. Admission to beach is $3pp for non-burriville residents. Coinstar eat your heart out. A quarter in the swear jar? Absolutely not. My spare change goes to Spring Lake Arcade. read more

I have found my new summer oasis and its in Burrillville of all places. While Yelp! has the arcade listed, it is so much more than just an arcade- the arcade really is the cherry on top of a really enjoyable summer spot. This was the most meticulously maintained swimming area I have been to in my 26 almost 27 years of being a water baby. I do not discriminate and will swim in anything (see: Hope Pond) but Spring Lake will be getting my business from here on out. Its fresh water, and a large body of water at that- gentle little ripples striking the beach- no waves. Nothing to shock you as you get acclimated to the water, which has a warmer upper layer but a super chilled (and refreshing) underneath. The beach appears to be raked daily and was free of garbage, large rocks, etc. The water was fairly free of weeds and dead stuff too (believe me that much is ga-ross to step on). While hanging out plenty of fish swam on by and some minnows and tadpoles too. I take that as a sign the water isn't horribly dirty. The facilities are beautiful. The floors weren't even wet on a fairly busy Sunday when I went in to change. They also have a concession stand that had some decent priced snacks. IF you need to work yourself up to go into the water bring a bag of change and get that adrenaline running playing pinball and other vintage to current arcade games at the Spring Lake Arcade, machines run on their original coinage, starting at a penny up to a quarter + I played quite a bit of 10 cent pinball. It might cost a bit more to go to Spring Lake if you're in a big group as they charge per person, not by the car load, but for a solo trip or a weekend jaunt for 2 or 3, its still a steal or comparable in price, plus no traffic, no inane teens, no boomboxes or otherwise irritable and unsavory activities. read more

Every summer I look forward to going to Spring Lake for the Penny Arcade! I pull out all my loose change I've been saving up though the winter, and bring it here. The Arcade is a local RI gem with favorites like the dancing clown, baseball, and bowling. I've been coming here ever since I was little girl, and I still get giddy at the thought. I really can't say much more than to go experience it yourself! It's located inside the Spring Lake Beach. There's a nominal non-resident beach fee (a couple bucks). Best arcade in Rhode Island, so far! I cannot believe I've been living here for over 12 years and never paid it a visit. A lot of fun... Kind and personable staff, loads of people on the beach and everywhere else.. a few places where you can shower, change, people watch, buy food and drink. There are several modern pinball machines, and a handful of vintage ones. The great part about this arcade is that it feels like an authentic beach arcade (which it is), and it is all about the vintage game collection, many of which only cost a dime or a nickle to play, just like they did way back when. There is a photobooth, as well as plenty of interesting ticket-dispensing games for cashing in on your accumulated stash at the register. I forgot my swim trunks, so I didn't go in the water. lol read more

Spring Lake Arcade and Beach is a gem hidden within the State of Rhode Island. I was born and raised in RI and didn't 'find' this amazing place until I was in my 20's. I loved to take my kids every summer for fun in the arcade, a nice picnic, and a refreshing swim in Spring Lake! We have since moved to a different State but when we come to visit family in RI you can bet we'll make Spring Lake one of our stops. This time we'll have a new generation of grandchildren! read more

Went in a group of 9 on Wednesday around 10 or 11. I live in Providence called befor I came and the lady told us it was $3 to get in when we got there she told us $5 to get in good thing we had brought extra money with us and when my friend asked why the change the young girl said I tryed to call u back 3 times but that was not true I replied here is my phone I dont have ANY MISSED calls then my friend said I just dont understand why u said one price and then a different price when we get here the young girl agin replayed with im so sorry I missed up prices my friend aslo asked if there was anyone we could talk to or anything they could do and the part that got all of us UPSET was her reply this time was im sorry about that but no there is no one else you guys can talk to and no there is NOT ANYTHING I can do and I HAVE A JOB I NEED TO DO!!!!! After being on the beach with my son for 3 hours we decided to get food I ordered a cheese burger wirh cheese frys and I ask can I have the cheese sauce on the side and got charged a $1 extra my cheese burger was a medium burnt but I did not want to go complain about it because my 3 year old was hungry I called and put a complain in but they did not take it very seriously . Beside the bad experience with the people who work there with poor customer service... the beach is very nice well kept and the life guards was on top of ther jobs..... poorly to say I probably won't be returning unfortunately... sad to say because I think its a really nice beach..... read more

Love this place. I have been coming here since I was a kid. Clean water clean place and just overall a good time. The only complaint I have is the girls at the snack bar need a attitude adjustment and when you say you'll open at 11 and kept turning people away at 1120 because you have counted the draw yet Is't good. I have been planning to come to this arcade for awhile now and I finally had a free day, and it happened to be sunny out. I love old arcade games, so I was excited to check out this place. It lived to my expectations. Beach was pretty nice, clean water. But the arcade was the highlight of my trip. Half the arcade had new arcade games which was a bit of a disappointment but I can see why. The vintage games were awesome. Most cost between a penny and a quarter. A couple of the games are broken but that's to be expected. Killed a few hours in the arcade and spent only a few bucks. Will be back. read more

Went to the lake today it was cloudy and there was a,chance of rain the gate was opened a little bit so I walked in and asked if they were opening today ? The young girl at the counter wasn't sure said the mgr was going to make a decision well she did open the gate the (mgr) but not after being incredibly RUDE stateing that if it starts to rain it's our problem there will be no refund etc... Well we didn't ask anything about a refund there were also 10 in our party 4 which have never been there before! What a first impression. There was also an elderly women who she actually walked down on the beach to talk to about a problem this women had with being over charged Wow she was on a roll with being RUDE to people !! It's a business and I'm not saying the customer is always right but there is a way to talk to people and a way NOT to !! What it came down to is it was going to rain and she wanted the day off!! I've been living in Burrillville since 1997, and I can't believe I haven't been here until today. I was surprised how far my spare change got me in the arcade, where I got a 180 slugging average on an old baseball game for about a nickel. The nickel arcade games are way more fun, like an old pinball game from 1933. If you go for a swim, you have to dry off before going in the arcade, but that's just part of the fun. I hit the jackpot twice on Colorama, and had a minute of fun checking out the House Of Freaks for just a nickel. After that, it was off to the snack bar, where I had some tasty mozzarella sticks. You will not believe you're still in Burrillville - it is that beautiful. I will definitely be back to try my hand at winning that Ninja Turtles puzzle in the arcade. read more
