    The course

I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was super crowded. I felt squished between the slow people ahead of us and the impatient people behind us. The course itself wasn't that exciting either. It's personal preference, but I prefer the kitsch of other mini golf places.

Probably had been 20 some years since I went mini golfing. Mulligans island is ok. Not much on the way of obstacles like windmills, the holes are pretty basic. From what I remember most places usually have a whole in one type gimmic on the last hole to win something, but not here. Friendly people.

The place doesn't allow driving range ball purchases after 5:30pm. It's the end of April. Absolutely insane.

I seem to only come here in extreme weather - on a freezing day on January, we were able to stay warm from the heaters that blast from the ceiling, even though you're 60% outdoors. However, when I went in the heat wave last week thinking they'd surely have just as strong air conditioning, I was sweating like crazy. There doesn't seem to be any air conditioning in the bays, and the fans rotated and only hit you briefly before moving on - not super helpful. I wish there was a better way to regulate the temperature in the heat. The appetizers are amazing here despite my incorrect assumption that it'd be mid bar food. I, unprompted, will rave about the queso here to anyone who even so much as whispers the word "Topgolf". The pizza was kind of meh, it reminded me of middle school cafeteria pizza (which hey, sometimes I'm in the mood for that, but it was not super fresh seeming?) We got a big assorted platter and the Mac n cheese bites were yummy, although I wish they didn't have a bit of kick to them. They really need a marinara sauce to come on the platter to dip them in though- the salsa it came with wouldn't go (and wasn't amazing), and the ranch also on the platter felt like creamy overkill to pair with them. The pretzel bites with cheese dip are the perfect size, never too dry or salty, and the dip is incredible, just make sure you eat it before it cools and gets harder because it's significantly less yummy that way. The donut bites with syringes of different fillings (what a fun format!) are a MUST, my coworkers and I have almost gotten into fights over the last shot of creme filling LOL I got the Tito's Mango Frozen Lemonade and it was fantastic, not too boozy (which was perfect for my needs) and helped cool me down. I always want a Jack and Coke when I'm here for some reason, but they only have Pepsi, and it's just not the same (and far inferior, let's be honest). The games are fun, although the instructions on the new soccer game they added for the World Cup and the Angry Birds games are not very clear and left our party confused. I've never handled the booking process, but it seems the standard time slot is 2 hours, after which the screens promptly boot you off. This never feels like quite enough time and I always wish we could stay for 2.5 or 3 hours! The parking lot is spacious and bathrooms are always clean. It can be a little pricy but they run promos. This would be a great spot for a birthday party, friend reunion, or I've been on multiple work team bonding trips.

Naturally, she is very self conscious about her play and is intimidated by the golfers just behind us. Well, that is not the feeling you get at Buttonhole. The employees are very friendly. Our fellow golfers were not in a rush, were very friendly and accepting. The course is very well maintained with well groomed greens. It's a great par 3, 9 hole course! Many of the holes are challenging due to pin placement, sand, and water traps. There are no golf carts, you walk the course, which is very scenic and relaxing! A couple can play 9 holes, and rent a pull or push cart for your clubs, for a total of about $40.00 dollars! There are vending machines, but not a legitimate 19th hole. . You will have to hit one of the many nearby restaurants for a cocktail and bite to eat when you finish playing. Great bargain, beautiful setting to enjoy a nice day of nature and golf!

Sometimes it's hard to find out what part of the park you're meant to meet someone in since there are so many sections. You can walk along the long beach or try a woodsy hiking trail. The trails on the right of the beach have either steps or a gradual slope to get up to the top of them, and you can look down over a small cliff to see the water below. The trails on the left of the gazebo are beautiful and give you many options, but people ride horses here, so be mindful of the droppings! This park has fantastic sunsets and multiple picnic areas, plus multi Porta potties that are usually in decent condition to use if needed. The bridge is great to look at, but can get crowded with families doing holiday photo shoots in the fall, so I've become wary of coming here since being stuck on one side of the bridge while a family made us wait to cross until they were done with pictures (ugh). I've come here for walks/hikes and even to wade at multiple times of year and always enjoy a beautiful day and peaceful experience here.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the way my friends and I were treated by the course…read moremarshal, Charlie, during our round of golf on Saturday. From the beginning, Charlie made several comments that made us uncomfortable. One of my friends had a large water bottle, and Charlie rudely asked him if it contained vodka, even though the bottle was clearly labeled. He also asked another friend, who has only been golfing a handful of times, whether he even knew how to play golf. We found these comments unnecessary and disrespectful, but we decided to let them go and continue enjoying our round. Later, Charlie approached us again and told us that we needed to play faster. We tried to explain that part of the reason we were moving slowly was because he had stopped us for an unnecessary conversation that lasted close to 10 minutes. More importantly, there was nobody behind us waiting to play at the time, so we were not holding anyone up. Despite this, Charlie continued arguing with us and repeatedly told us that the fact we had paid to play "didn't matter" because of golf etiquette. We understand that golf courses have rules regarding pace of play, and we respect those rules. However, there is a professional and respectful way to communicate with paying customers. His concern about our pace was also confusing considering that we ultimately finished two full holes ahead of the group that had been behind us. This made us feel that the repeated confrontation over our pace was unnecessary. The situation became even more disappointing when we reached hole nine and noticed two kids who appeared to have snuck onto the course to fish in the pond. I had a picture of them and attempted to show it to Charlie. He refused to even look at the picture and instead told us, "Your golf etiquette sucks. Learn how to play the game." That comment was completely unnecessary and unprofessional. We paid the required rate and were simply trying to enjoy a Saturday afternoon playing golf together. We were not looking for any problems, and we continued playing even after the earlier uncomfortable interactions. Unfortunately, Charlie's repeated comments and the way he spoke to us negatively affected our entire experience. I believe golf should be welcoming to everyone, including people who may be newer to the game. Nobody should be made to feel like they do not belong on a golf course simply because they are less experienced. Given that nobody was being held up and we ultimately finished two holes ahead of the group behind us, I do not believe the way Charlie treated us was justified. I hope management takes this complaint seriously and addresses the way we were treated so that other customers do not have a similar experience.
