My husband had the day off from work so I figured we should try something new. My dad used to take my brother and I mini golfing all over New England when we were kids so when I discovered one in Cranston, I was pretty excited! The website offered a great time! It was pretty easy to get to although I was shocked it was right next to the state prison. Good place to bring your kids! The parking was nice and easy too and it was not very busy when we were there. The service was not very personable. I was shocked that for two adults it cost $20! That's a lot for mini golf! I'm used to $7 per person! Anyways, I was also disappointed that we could not choose our own putter! By the time I was handed by putter and checked to see if it was the right length, the lady was already gone. So, I was stuck with a putter that was too short. Then, they have two courses! Sounds great right? Well, it's not because there is nothing to indicate which course has what and I really wanted to mini golf through the volcano. Of course, there are no signs with any explanation and no one around to help. We chose the blue course and it really sucked! The mats were uneven, there was debris all over the place and the water was nasty! Although I had fun kicking my husband's butt, I did not find Mulligan's Island to be that big of a deal. They have a lot of different things to offer people. You like golf? Check. You like batting cages? Check. You like prison? The ACI isn't too far away from their grounds. This place gets 2.5-3 stars mainly because it is expensive for what you get. The mini golf course is nothing to write home about although it is fun for a half hour of enjoyment. The problem is the price is way too high for what they give you. The range is basically average to slightly below average in terms of amenities (mats, tees, yardage parkers), but they charge you 5 star prices. I just went last week and a large bucket has gone to $12 for 105 balls. For that price, the mats should be nicer and the yardage markers more plentiful. I love Mulligans. Growing up in Southern RI, where Mini Golf places are sparse and after the removal of Fiddlesticks were basically non-existant. I have frequented Mulligans at least twice a summer for the past 10 years. Now that I live minutes away its fantastic. The husband loves the driving range and pitch and put and I love the mini golf. They also have batting cages for those that are into that. I would say price is average, you won't find anywhere else where you can play a round for less than $10. I like the fact there are 2 courses to choose from and I find the holes challenging and fun. We always have a great time. One thing I wish they did provide were nets to rescue lost balls from the water. The water is pretty disgusting and stagnant, having to reach in is less than desirable. The icing is the fact you can try to win a free game at the end by dropping your ball into a plinko type box. I used to be pretty lucky at this and would score a free game at least once a season. Great thought on their part, brings people back. Honestly if you are looking for a nice date night or family night it is worth a stop. read more

Whilst smacking one of many golf balls over the back of the driving range net i thought... "Why is their pitch n putt so similiar to their 3 par course?" "Why not make it an 18 hole par three? One where i could wink at the lady prisoners on Rec break while teeing off" I know, right!? Well after nailing the Side of the range cart whilst picking up balls, the Jamaican man inside winked at me with a jaded stare. As if to say... "Give me a medical reason to not have to continue in this line of work... Even if for a week." JK i knew the jamaican man that actually used to do that job. I miss dat boi, che mon! Did not partake of the Par 3, or driving range. $10 per adult=$20 game. Bitchy teenage cashiers. Approacheth the beginning of the course=total confusion. There is a Blue course, and a Red course, neither is explained. After asking bitchy teen #2 we are told Blue couse is the harder of the 2, so commenseth the game. 18 mini holes of frustration. Totally uneven and threadbare astroturf + polluted stanky water runoff from the waterfall feature(which we had to fish balls from several times)=suck. Many insects. In October in NE. Fiberglass decor literally coming apart-we kicked some of it around. I'd say skip it. read more

I saw the reviews about the teenage workers - I see most of these criticisms are either by annoying teenagers or parents who will get a wake up call when their kids become teenagers . . . My boyfriend loves the driving range because you can get a jumbo-sized bucket of balls for what he says is a reasonable price. Plus there's covered space to keep you out of a blazing sun or to keep you dry in a drizzle. The mini-golf was okay. We had fun because our surroundings didn't really matter, but the course was sparsely decorated and super-compact. Don't really need to go again. There's little waterfalls and a mountain, but make sure you don't hit your ball into the water...I actually did that and had to take the walk of shame back through the course to get myself another ball. As a new golfer, I've grown to love this place. I won't pretend it's the most lush course in the area, nor the most challenging, but if you're like me (obsessing over my grip, how far my pitching wedge can hit and why I can't one or two putt every time) - this is the place. It's convenient - right off the highway in Cranston. You can use the driving range, practice your short game at the pitch and putt, or play nine holes. I work for a small business in RI and am part of the committee that plans events for our employees. Every year we host a summer outing for our employees. We always try to think outside of the box [last year we did an event with The Riddle Room & it was great]. The committee ultimately decided on hosting this years summer party at Mulligan's Island because of their extensive activities and the fact that you can have the event catered by food trucks. My colleague put in a request on the Mulligan's Island website, and received a response back. However, he was unable to reply back because the email address was automated. I called and left two messages for their event coordinator, Sue Stenhouse. After my second voicemail I received a voicemail from Ms. Stenhouse indicating that I can return her call or send her an email. Unfortunately, my calls & emails have gone unanswered for over 2 weeks. Needless to say Mulligan's lost out on our business. Super disappointed in the customer service and the lack of response on our inquiry. read more

I went over the weekend with my nephew and a couple of his friends for the Carnival. We had a great time, the place was packed. The kids had cotton candy, candy apples, the works. They went on a bunch of rides there, they absolutely loved it, We pretty much spent half a day there. I would say I definitely got my exercise in for the day, from all the walking. I'd give it 0 stars if I could. RUDE employees, over priced mini golf $10 a person for ONE side of the course not both... Ridiculous. Takes less than 15 minutes to go through. The girl who gave my friend and I our putters did not say we would have to pay EXTRA to go on the second course, only when we walked over did we finally hear her speak " THATS AN EXTRA $5 A PERSON"... That's a joke. She never mentioned we couldn't go through both courses either, not did the person at the front window. Or how about the family behind us putting informing us that we were on the children's (not as hard) side of the course. The family told us that the girl who handed us the putters informed her of that... But then when we went to complain later ""both courses are the same"" oh really??? Then why tell another family a different story. Never will go back. That's what you get for a mini golf course located next to a prison. Next time I'll go somewhere cheaper where the staff is much friendlier. Mini golf is an awesome family activity! We needed a place to mix it up after dinner. So checking out Google then Yelp we found this place which was a 7 min drive from our hotel. Pretty impressive that the facility has two 18 hole mini golf courses plus batting cages and a par three golf course. The batting cages looked awesome. I will have to check me out next time we head down. As for the mini golf there are some very clever awesome holes and some holes that are very plain jane ordinary. There is a volcano/waterfall that spews fire (unfortunately it did just before we came) once every hour. The waterfall is cool and has some water that snakes it's way around a few holes. Turf was clean and in good condition. At the end of the round you drop your ball to try for a free round. It's the lowest priced round for a member of your group. So if you come with kids it will be a kids round. Still we won one and will use it up on next visit as the girl working there mentioned it never expires! Good times! read more

Mulligan's is a fun place for mini golf, driving range, pitch and put, and batting cages. I recently took my niece and nephew there for mini golf. They loved it! There's two 18 hole courses to choose from -- one with a volcano and one with a waterfall. We chose the waterfall one this time and it was challenging and fun. The course is clean and well kept. It's $10 for adults and $8 for kids which is reasonable. At the end of the game, you get a chance to drop your ball in a plinko like box to see if you can win a free game. Bonus: there's also a frozen lemonade stand available and it's delicious! read more

Prices are way too expensive for what you get. Every time I have gone the same rude cashier is there. The back nine golf course is fun because it's rarely crowded, however it's not nearly as well maintained as the other local par 3 courses. Par 3 course isn't in great shape, but it's a quick 9 holes and helps you sharpen your game on your 5 irons through wedges. The driving range is hitting off mats only (no grass area) and they have a practice putting green. I've never used the pitch & put or mini golf or cages. The greens are on the small side, even for a par 3, but this means you have to be precise. You can play it in about an hour if you're not stuck behind anybody. It's not my favorite place to play, but I like it there when I need to focus on my medium-short game. read more

They have two 18 hole mini golf courses. This way you can choose which one you want to do. Some of the holes were a lot of fun and others were just okay. Most of the mini golf course looks new! This is fun. Pitch and putt is awesome- I am an amateur golfer and so my dad was able to take me through the course with only a few embarassing moments. As Jeff J mentioned the close proximity of the ACI- I have to note- we were golfing in the early evening just as some prisoners were enjoying some yard time- it got fairly loud at times depending on where we were positioned. I wasn't fearful of my safety per say but it sure did add to the entertainment value of the golf experience. read more

Went here for a PTA event for my children. Paid $50 for mini golf, batting cages, pizza and ice cream -- what we actually received was 1 round of mini golf. We told the older man who was managing the place that we had to leave 15 mins early for my son's game and asked to use the batting cages (which were empty) and we were denied because we needed to wait until everyone was finished golfing! There was an entire school there at the time. He said we couldn't get pizza until the end of the event and then promised to get my kids their ice cream but when they asked for it, he blatantly ignored them and walked away! Spend your money at an establishment that is more courteous and family friendly, and skip the disrespect and greed at Mulligan's Island! read more

This complex has a great layout...mini-golf, par 3 course, pitch and putt, and driving range. Unfortunately, I have only had time for the mini-golf so far. It is a challenge with undulating greens and a volcano that actually shoots flames. This course has made me drop my club and walk away...I kind of love that. I threw my ball in the water once. I think it is best to play during the day to get good reads. I wanted to try the second course but my ball became lodged in a below ground pipe...I hope they have fixed that by now. You can play at a boring, flat course with lacy frills and unicorns while scoring a 38. I'd rather face a real challenge that causes beads of sweat, the smell of fear, and singed hair. I took my cousins from St Paul to play mini golf here last year; we had such a fun time. When they were back in town Tuesday, they wanted to go back. What a nightmare! The entire establishment has really gone downhill...very unkept. Driving in, the golf course was all sandy....no greens at all. On the minin golf course, there was no water in any of the water traps...it looked like we were playing on a long-ago abandonded course. The volcano NEVER went off (I don't know if it's even on today an employee told me). When we finished the course I went into the clubhouse to complain. A man told me that they had to drain the water and they we filling it right now; he had no answer re: the volcano. I told him that they charged us full price and I expected a full-price experience....he had no commnet and didn't offer any refund. I will NEVER go back !!! read more

Really messy, nothing is ever fixed. The "water" looks filled with bacteria and trash. the green on the mini golf is ripped up in some areas and it seems like no one is ever working there. No one around to help or ask questions. Do not bring your kids here, it seems dangerous for children. read more

Ok...where do I start? I purchased a $40 Groupon/Providence Deals type of gift certificate. Went with my 7 year old daughter and my boyfriend. We get to the window and there is an extremely extremely rude man behind the counter...telling me he won't accept this...he doesn't know anything about this?? My boyfriend and I wanted to leave based on his attitude but I had promised her so we stayed (we should have left). He then said golf closed at 7:30pm, it was 7:34 but he would let us in. And I paid $20. what a rip off!! Didn't tell me where to get the golf clubs or anything....I have never dealt with someone so rude until I got to the golf club shack, a young girl yells into her headset "thanks a lot" to the man at the desk..guess she wanted to leave early and we were ruining her night?? She rudely gave us golf clubs and not the balls (we had to find them ourselves) The course was not maintained and really boring and old. I am a sucker for customer service....if you are doing a job do the best you can at it or quit. Because if you work at a Mini Golf booth....kids are going to come thru there and you need to smile. read more

My 5 year old had been begging me to play "enormous golf" as opposed to mini golf so I decided to set him up with the pro for a 1/2 hour lesson. I was a little nervous as I think 5 is too young for golf but figured it couldn't hurt to give it a try. Mike, the pro, was fantastic. He interacted so beautifully with my son and, while not his typical client, my son left asking to go back the next day. We were in town visiting family so can't see Mike regularly but will certainly make him a must visit stop on our trips. read more
