Haven't been to karaoke in ages but my friend chose this place and it was pretty nice inside. The rooms have different themed decor and it seems pretty new and clean. You do need to be 19+ though and bring 2 pieces of ID. This is because they serve alcohol but only after 9pm. The lobby area is very Instagram-worthy too. The only weird thing was that we had 9 people and they can only give us 2 mics??? We had some trouble with the song selection because the search options were strange and a lot of stuff is in Chinese. This place is the worst. Audio sucks and you can barely hear yourself. As a karaoke place, they are willing to sacrifice audio in order to fit more people into the room. As someone who sings K on a regular base, this place sucks. read more

Worst that I've ever experienced. Stuff attitude extremely horrible. Very small pot of tea for three ppl to share plus charging75 cents everytime refill. Bad service though force to charge 20%tips on top of everything. I would say its a rip off. At least me and all of my frs wont go this place again. read more

After hanging out at Trapped (escape room in Richmond) we decided on eating and stumbled this place. Karaoke with full menu and bubble tea? Seemed like a pretty good deal! $40 for an hour for 8 people. So we decided on what to eat, placed our order and went to the room. The front girl asked if we wanted to be reminded before the 1 hour was up, or if we wanted the machine to just turn off. We opted for the reminder. Pretty decent song selection. The actual machine was easy enough to use. But our food took almost an hour to show up. And the waiter kept bringing the wrong drinks. (We ended up with two free bubble teas though, so score!) he seemed really stressed but he was trying to figure out our orders. One of the orders was a chicken fried rice, where he brought the chicken but forgot the rice..... And came back near the end of our time. Ugh. And since the food took so long, we were still eating when our time was up. The server came back and said that there were people waiting for this room so we needed to leave. I told him that we weren't leaving because our food, literally, just arrived. He apologized after I complained, and trust me, I gave him quite an earful. So we finished eating and walked out to an empty lobby *rolls eyes* The girl at the front had trouble calculating our bills separately but I ended up helping her out. They get another star because we got 2 bubble teas for free. Probably his mistake but whatever, his loss is my gain. If I never come back here, I wouldn't regret it. read more

WE LOST OUR DRIVING LICENSE here since the staff asked to keep the ID before we can use the room, and it was STOLEN!!!!! They don't take care of the IDs at all and don't even put locks on the drawer. In the end they gave us a 10% off only, and the police could do nothing except asking us to write down some personal info for recording. AVOID this place if you don't want to lose your ID :( read more

I should have read the reviews before coming to this place. If a 0 star or negative rating existed that's what I would give this place. Here is a run down of my experience. We arrived to be ignored by the staff as we stood at the front desk, it was only until I spoke up they put down their phones and acknowledged my group. Secondly we the lady who worked there walked us over to our room, put down the Mics and left. She did not give any instructions or teach us how to use the machine. We took a look at the machine and it was only in chinese. None of the people in my group can read chinese so we gave it a few minutes and tried to figure it out. We were unsuccessful and asked the staff to help us. With an annoyed attitude the woman came in and tried changing the language, she obviously did not know how so she asked her manager for help. The manager came in and tried to change it to English but obviously did know now how to either. They managed to change some of the words to english but probably 90% of the words were still in chinese. After doing that, both staff said "there you go" and proceeded to leave. Surprised at the lack of help, my group stood up and left. ESSENTIALLY, Monster L wasted our time by not having a competent staff or ability to cater to non-chinese customers. read more

Terrible service, rude staff, overpriced, and I'm pretty sure running an illegal operation. We got there and ended up paying about $100 in total for 4 hours or something, which is already overpriced, but okay fine. We finished our time and went to pay and the cost came out to $125. And we're like, woah, what? We looked at the receipt, and they were charging us $2.50 for the glasses of TAP WATER we had been drinking during our time there. Not only is this just ridiculous, they didn't tell us this in the first place or when we kept going back for refills...of TAP WATER. We complained and the girl at the counter was just rude, never said sorry, kept rolling her eyes at us and telling us "it's just common sense." Since when is charging $2.50 for a glass of tap water common sense? She also said "it's in our menu." A menu that we were never given or even told about. Andthen they expected a tip on top of it all. As if. Overall terrible experience. Never going back there and I don't recommend anybody else does either. read more

If I could give this place a negative score I will. I seriously just made my Yelp account to warn others not to come to this location (Richmond). So my friend from out of town came to visit for the week and we were planning to have a really fun night at karaoke so we went to mix 2 in Richmond. I've been going to Mix 2 BURNABY consistently over the past 6 years so I think it's a good place to hang on a Friday night. When we arrived, the mix2 "manager" asked us how many hours are we're going to stay. We said 1 hour. She were nice enough and gave us an option, they said, " would you like us to remind you when you're hour is up or do you want to pay for what you're singing when you leave? (no time limit)" We just wanted the 1 hour so we went with the first option of them reminding us when the 1 hour is up and we'll leave. During our hour, we ordered drinks too, and when the "manager" that brought us our drinks, we asked again if she could remind us when our hour was up and they said yes politely. For the customers that have been to the bby mix 2 or kmix, when you're in a large group and during busy times (weekend nights at 12am~) you say specifically you want 1 or 2 hours. The karaoke machine actually stops when your time is up. So when we were singing I felt like we passed our 1 hour, so we just got out of the room and we were going to pay our bill and leave. The "manager" said we went over 1hour 19mins, we asked how come they didn't remind us of the hour cause we chose the option of having a reminder. They said they were too busy and they can't keep track. Then she kept saying she can't stop the machine, the bill is printed and she can't do anything. I told her the mix 2 location in bby stops the machine when you're time is up and she said we're different store. Each store has their own policy, the burnaby operates differently. I asked her how were we suppose to know because every time we went to the mix2 in burnaby they would do the same thing. She "explained" that even though they have the same name, they operate differently with different policies. Then she admit it was their fault for not reminding us but we have to pay the whole bill or else she'll call the police. She even told us that we can either call the police or she will. We all told her we're just going to pay for our drinks and the 1 hour and when I was trying to talk, she was screaming and said "SHUSH, LET ME TALK. ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME." Great customer service mix2! Then she threatened us and said she was going to call the police, we told her to go ahead. She "called" 911, and she dialed for 20seconds and there was no pick-up. The police won't pick up calls? SHOCKING -_-, good act mix2! Finally she hung up the phone and said, " I'm not going to spend my whole time trying to reach them. You know what I can do? I'll just pay the extra with MY OWN MONEY and you pay for the drinks and the 1 hour". During this whole incident, there was never an apology. The fact that she yelled, told me to SHUSH, and "attempted to call the police" even though she admitted she was wrong, was super unprofessional. We would've paid the extra money if she just apologized. It wasn't even a big deal but her throwing the fact that she said she was going to remind us TWICE when our time was up and try to put the blame on us was just unacceptable, if you didn't offer to remind us in the first place, we would've set a timer our phones to begin with. All in all, the "manager" as mix-2 RICHMOND was horribly rude and please be prepared to be yelled at and never accept the offer of them "reminding" you of your time. read more
