K-Fever is one of those staples for those of Asian descent. Yes, they like boxing themselves into a room and pretending to be rock stars while staring at a bunch of music videos and eating snacks and drinking bubble tea. Parking is ample in the strip mall. You may have to walk a little bit if the area immediately in front is full. The place is a little old for sure, but it doesn't make you want to run out screaming. The main foyer has several couches and a TV screen so you can request and sing some karaoke while waiting for a room. This is a really nice touch. As for the rooms, there is 1 large room that can fit some 18 people; everything else is more like 4-15. They have many of the newer songs in the menu, which is also nice. However, the equipment is a little beaten up. Sometimes our audio would be replaced by a signal from an adjacent room. Also, the touchscreen system is 100% Chinese, so I hope you either know how to read or have an token FOB in your group. The drinks and snacks here are actually quite tasty. You wouldn't think that such a ghetto-looking place would deliver in this respect but they do. Washrooms aren't the world's cleanest, but fortunately the floors aren't sticky. On Tuesdays, singing is 50% off. It's a pretty awesome deal. Also, between 1300-1800 on certain days it's $11 allyoucansing. Something to keep in mind if you want to save a few bucks.

First time at K-Fever. Pretty chill overall and we had a good time. Nothing complicated, just a fun karaoke night with friends.

Many of the newer songs are here. Also, customer service is not as bad as the people commented here. It was a good experience overall.

The room we were given was cozy, but was spacious enough to allow room for dancing. The couches were comfortable and a decorative disco ball helped set the mood. + easy-to-use system: Galchae has two systems - an old system where you punch in 5-digit codes (ex. 56789) that correspond with songs that are given to you in an alphabetized booklet, and a new system where you navigate a touch-screen that has categories like artist, song name, etc. Despite them being in Korean, neither system is difficult to use and you'll get the hang of it within the first two songs. + large selection of English songs: for a Korean establishment, there is definitely a fair share of English songs. I was surprised at some of the ones I saw. There are both old songs (Piano Man, Hey Jude) and new songs (Hotline Bling, Hello). There won't be indie, but if it's ever been on the radio, you'll probably find it. Between the two aforementioned systems, you're sure to find enough songs to last you the night. + kind service: the receptionist was easy to work with. She spoke fluent English, and explained how to use the systems briskly and straightforwardly. As other reviewers have mentioned, we were kindly given an extra ~20-25 minutes despite only staying for an hour. We were also given water free of charge. Though the location is a little obscure, the place is great. If I ever feel like karaoke again, I'll definitely come back to Galchae Karaoke for a visit!

When the owner (older man) realized we had outside drinks, he became extremely aggressive. He grabbed a microphone and swung it at us, tried to hit us with it. We felt unsafe and called the police. This goes beyond "rude service" -- it was threatening behavior. I'm writing this to warn others: if you care about safety, avoid this place.

TIKI DAVE from TIKI DAVE'S TERRIFIC TRIPS absolutely loves this place!…read more After searching for the best Tiki Bar in Vancouver (what???), I absolutely had to leave the family at the airport hotel to check this place out. As Son of TIKI DAVE would say, I didn't need to go, but I wanted to go. Yes, yes, Alec, I wanted to go. And the reviews lived up to the hype. What a wonderful spot halfway between the airport and downtown. I left it up to the bartenders to choose my drinks... Against my better judgment, I went with the bartender's recommendation to try the Painkiller because they touted it better than the Soggy Dollar Bar in the BVI. Well, I've been to the BVI but never the Soggy Dollar Bar...yeah, I know. But this drink, that I would normally think too sweet for my taste, was amazing. Now, I have to go to the freakin' Soggy Dollar Bar to compare but I'd bet this one was better. For my second, I again, left it up to the knowledgeable bartender to guide me the way. And he served me up with this perfectly amazing and glowy amazingness that is the Rememberer? Which is off menu. It was amazing. And did I mention it glowed? Ambience and service is amazing. I showed up on a Saturday night at 10 and I was worried after reading about it that I'd have trouble getting in but it wasn't a problem at all.
