Switch looks like a night club when you enter and really has a party vibe. But then we get taken into one of their rooms where you can karaoke, eat and drink with just your buddies. You have to go out to order and then bring the food back but we didn't mind. Drinks were decent, songlist had what we're looking for, pricing was great for a few hours of fun. The only thing is their tables are fixed to the floor so if you are in the middle, you're gonna have to make your friends move to get out. Helps to make everyone move and mingle though. read more

Spacious spot, very dark lit club vibes. The women at the bar had fast service and were super attentive to the drink orders. There was a guy continually coming in to clear up our table of drinks which was really nice too. The room was clean and they gave us covers for the microphones for extra sanitary reasons which was nice. A medium song selection though, missing a lot of my fave tracks and they had zero Hinder (Lips of an Angel is my go to). read more

Celebrated a birthday here and staff was super accommodating. They let us set up a whole half hour before we started our time and gave us plates and forks for the cake we brought. Water was also provided. We ordered cocktails at the bar. Lots of songs to choose from and the rooms are amazing! Super modern, nice finishings, they have bigger rooms depending on how many people you want to book for. Super nice facilities, will shout out their happy hour pricing if you can make it. Staff was friendly, parking is non existent since it's on Robson but street behind Robson had paid street parking. Would highly recommend and come back with bigger groups. Happy hour price $5/person per hour is great! Rooms are nice and the bathroom is beautiful! Except for the part a girls threw up. Check in process with ID can be long at times. Nice that they take reservations by phone. Playlist is extensive. Food options not great but so many places to eat around Robson anyways.. The front desk girls are not friendly and the never come to the rooms to ask if we want to order or need anything. But I will definitely be back for happy hour! read more

We came for happy hour on a Thursday at around 4pm. We had the lobster burger lunch set, oysters and sturgeon pate. The lobster burger was somewhat disappointing. There wasn't much lobster flavour in it. The bun was too soft and couldn't hold the burger properly. When bit into it basically fell apart. The French fries on the other hand was delicious. Super crunchy and addictive. The oysters were 1.5 so a good deal but there was too much ice in them. The sturgeon pate was hard to eat. It tasted like canned tuna. Definitely don't get the sturgeon pate Overall, service was okay. The layout of the room is weird. I can see that they would want to host parties here in the future but the layout is still weird. The soundproofing is done pretty well. I personally wouldn't go back for the food other than the French fries read more

A new French-Japanese Izakaya fusion restaurant and Karaoke venue This is a massive venue with a hip bar, private suites, karaoke, and dining area I came across this place on Robson street and if I didn't see their signage outside, I wouldn't know its a restaurant. The decor is pretty nice in here Switch has a pretty attractive lunch menu for $10.95 (12pm-3pm) and oysters for $1.50 ea They also have craft beer for $ $5.95, as well as a good selection of local beer on tap I got the Kiwami Plum Sour for 8.75 (355mL) These are Japanese lunch sets so their presentation is a bit delicate looking, but very nicely presented The Lobster Burger is a slider, and the Hamburger steak is also a slider The Kusshi oysters require minimum of 6 - it came with a pear yuzu mignonette I really enjoyed the Hamburger steak, with sunny side up quail eggs, side salad, steamed rice and clam soup The lobster burger came with fries, side salad, a creamy truffle mushroom soup Overall, the food was tasty, service was excellent, very spacious dining area with elegant decor I can see Switch being a great venue for a fun New Years Eve party! read more

Love love love karaoke. I go quite often. So when I heard about this place, made a point to eagerly check it out. New, modern decor with a very large restaurant and bar. But I was there for the music. Hmmmmmm....first impressions? Easy to use controls. Large repertoire of songs. But quality was just not there. What do I mean by that? Looked and sounded very much like bootlegged renditions of the music. Grainy words on the screen. Lyrics wrong in the odd parts. So if you're looking for the original song versions like most other karaoke venues offer, this is not the place for you. And the sound was terrible. Which is surprising given the equipment looked so impressive. Just not calibrated properly, so sounded very tinny with very little base and no depth. And some songs were so excruciatingly loud, it rendered them unusable as you couldn't even hear yourself sing over the music. Ended up having to abandon those ones. Service was friendly, food mediocre. But the worst part, no soju. So to all of you Korean drinking fans out there, sorry. No somek. The one plus was the amount of songs they offered. So I was able to sing a number of songs I can never find at other local karaoke venues. So if you don't care about the music quality, maybe try this place out. For me, no thanks. There aren't any 4-star reviews here, so I'll give it one. The place looks attractive to me, and the very high ceiling is appealing in terms of germ dispersal. The servers were pleasant, and I was served quickly. I have only been once, and I ordered what I came for, the Saba lunch set. Based on the photo outside promoting the lunch sets, I was disappointed in what appeared, but I wasn't sure that I remembered correctly what the picture showed. When I left and saw the picture again, I realize that the Goma-ae in the photo was part of the appeal for me, and it was not included. To be more fair than I was feeling, the menu did not mention this item. Also, the egg omelet portion was much smaller than what is pictured. But the mackerel was a reasonable portion and was nicely prepared - crispy on the outside and moist inside. And it had been boned (deboned, bones removed), which I was not expecting. What is described as "salted" are two half-teaspoon-sized pieces of gerkin pickle, radish and cauliflower. Normally in Canadian restaurants, I don't think accompaniments of this size would be worth a mention. It was essentially fish, rice and soup, and they were fine. This was my first time here and honestly it was such a great experience. The place looks amazing and they have so many rooms. Unlike other places I've tried, they have an iPad to easily navigate any songs and artists. Only English songs though! The price is also great considering it is in Vancouver!! read more

My friend and I were looking to have some fun with karaoke and drinks. It did not disappoint. The volume of songs available were ample and our waitress was checking on us frequently asking if we needed anything. I do feel the acoustics could be improved in the karaoke private rooms.
