I went here the day before Easter because we had company and I had been wanting to try Monster donuts. Yes they were so cute! Decorated for Easter. I got there at 9:15 am the day before Easter. Aren't donuts still fresh fifteen minutes after opening? I had read how great the churro donut was so that was one choice. Of course first thing I did was grab that one to eat once I got to my car. Wow, disappointment! The churros on top were so stale I couldn't eat them, out the window they went! When I got home we decided to cut them in pieces so we could all try the different flavors. After a taste of each one, they sat there on the counter for three days. Doesn't happen in our home! Out to the trash went the rest of six donuts! $9+ for a half dozen donuts, that look cute but are dry with thin frosting. Two stars only because they looked cute for Easter. read more

As many of the reviews state: the base for the majority of their doughnuts is a basic round cake doughnut. Though they have many flavors of this type of doughnut, the dough itself remains the same in almost every variety. The toppings and instagram-ability of each donut was impressive. I just wish they could utilize a few different options(yeast dough, maybe a bar form, or actually have a giant yeast based monster doughnut). I was really hoping to be wowed by this place, but it was a bit of a let down. Let me start by saying they staff was friendly and nice, they place is a nice size, the prices aren't too crazy, and the donuts look very nice. The one donut I did like was the Maple and Whiskey Bacon donut. But I have a big problem with the "specialty donuts". Just because you top something off with Poptarts, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, or some kind of cereal, this does not make the whole donut a Poptart donut or a Cinnamon Toast Crunch donut. The donut were dry and the icing was just sweet. No dimensions of flavors that would make these donuts standout from the rest. So i saw something new and decided to get some for my family. I'm not big on donuts, but i tried the s'mores donuts and it was really great! They're donuts are very good and MOIST! They're not all super dry and crumby. Not overly sugary! Plus they had a wide variety of flavors! S'mores, cookies and creme, some with eyes, and some with delicious marshmallows! I am a sugar kind off girl. I love these doughnuts. They are always fresh and the smell is like nicotine or equivalent if I were a smoker. Their coffee is rich and strong and always brewed fresh. I go here at least once a week and it is worth every penny. I often pick up a dozen for my coworkers and as I said their selection is outstanding. They have dognuts that are interesting and unique and so very large. One is plenty until a bit later. The workers are polite and always cheery and can answer any question you may have, if you are not already a doughnut fanatic such as myself. read more

Monster Donuts is a very unique donut spot in the A.V it definitely reminds me of the popular LA shop, California Donut's, as far as visually. Upon my first visit this morning to Monster Donuts, my fiancee and I have already decided that this place is our top choice whenever we want doughnuts. My fiancee has a big sweet tooth so getting him to favorite a place can be easy so long as they are top quality, I, however, am a harder person to please. I don't generally like sweets, but Monster Donuts has the PERFECT sweet balance in their doughnuts. It wasn't too sweet, but it wasn't bland either. The doughnuts are so incredibly moist and soft with a great flavor to them, and the icing blends together really well with the taste of the doughnut. One does not over power the other. The creativity and the design of these doughnuts are on point! Not only do they TASTE incredible but they LOOK incredible, too! Add that to the incredibly friendly service (which morning me is a very grumpy individual, so the fact I walked in feeling 'meh' and left feeling great is an accomplishment) and this place easily receives 5 stars. Though yes the doughnuts are a touch expensive, they are worth it. YOU. GET. WHAT. YOU. PAY. FOR. CHEAPER. DOESN'T. ALWAYS. MEAN. BETTER. And Monster Donuts PROVES that. A dozen doughnuts is $13 and some change, but again, they are seriously worth it. I'd rather pay more for a higher quality doughnut any day of the week. I really hope they do good and stick around because it would be a shame to lose them. We are super excited to visit again and try different doughnuts - except my fiancee... who will get at least one smores doughnut because he is now obsessed. read more
