Monsoon Roofing Review, 5-28-2025 , Off. # ( 480-699-2754 ) I'll start off saying that In my estimation, Monsoon Roofing should change their name to ( Drum Roll ) Monsoon Roofing Excellence ! After getting multiple quotes and roof inspections, we decided that Monsoon Roofing, was the best choice for our re-roofing project of our tile roof that was past it's service life. To boot, their cost was extremely competitive too. Melvin Monzon, the President of Monsoon Roofing came to our house and did the inspection and gave us a through run down of what was needed to replace the roofing underlayment and some additional items that needed attention. He helped educate us on the proper materials that work well in our hot climate and also recommended the best way to get a very long service life out of the re-roofing project. By following his advice, not only do we have a roofing system that has been enhanced, we have a 10 year warranty and we also have some additional items that were done to maximize the durability of the overall roof reliability. One additional highly important concern we had, was that last year, when we renewed our coverage, we were asked how old the tile roof was by our homeowners insurance company. Apparently, insurance companies are being proactive about non policy renewals if your roof is past it's industry standard of time. As far as our re-roofing project went, Monsoon Roofing was just wonderful to deal with and they were at our house early every day to help get the job done in a very efficient manner. The foreman or the owner was here every day to make sure the job was progressing as planned. I could go on and on about how I'm 100% satisfied with the quality and commitment to their first class work. One other point that is very important when selecting a contractor in addition to looking at reviews and their track record is to make sure that they provide you with their business credentials like their ROC #, a copy of their bond, liability insurance and also their workman's compensation certificate, which they gladly provided to us to give us additional peace of mind that they are serious about the work they do. Roof underlayment replacement was completed today. A fantastic job. The crew worked tirelessly every day. The crew also cleaned up after every day's work, tools and equipment were placed out of sight and the yard looked great at the end of the day. Melvin at Monsoon Roofing and his crew are an absolutely stellar company to deal with. To begin, Melvin responded promptly to my request for a view of a roof leak we had. He examined the problem and gave me two options. The first was a partial repair to replace the underlayment on a portion of the roof and the second was a total replacement of the underlayment. Our home was a 15 year old spec home when built. It, like many spec homes, only had one layer of underlayment. Eventually at 15 to 20 years the underlayment deteriorates while the tile may appear to be good. I decided to have a total repair and they company showed up at 6:30 sharp every morning. They removed the roof tile and then removed the underlayment. They replaced damaged plywood and then added two layers of underlayment. The work was done professionally and promptly. I called Monsoon Roofing the morning of Oct. 8 due to water leaking from the ceiling in our front room because of the rains we had. Melvin came over within a few hours. Two other roofing companies I called never called back. Melvin explained exactly where the water was coming from and that he could repair the east side of the roof, but since the roof was almost 20 years old and we were going to be here several more years, we decided to replace the entire roof. He did not try to talk me into a whole new roof. He was able to start the job two weeks later on Oct. 22. His amazing workers were on time everyday and cleaned up after each day on the job. It took 5 days. They were able to recycle 90% of the tiles. Eric explained to me that we only needed one piece of plywood replaced and if there were any questions to call him anytime. I was suspicious when their quote excluded the manufacturer's warranty. After consulting with the manufacturer, we determined they were using mismatched materials from different companies. BEST ROOF REPAIR COMPANY: We sustained a roof leak at the point where a valley meets the main roof surface. I contacted a number of contractors via Yelp where most were either not interested in doing a repair or anything short of replacing the entire roof. I saw a small ad in our church bulletin for Monsoon Roofing and decided to give them a call. They were courteous and quickly responded. Melvin and his crew performed a perfect repair (I have some roofing experience). The dry-rotted decking and battens were replaced and high-quality underlayment installed. Melvin re-designed the valley so the same problem would not re-occur. Melvin's interest in providing a long-lasting solution was sincere and impressive. The crew painted where necessary and replaced broken roof tiles on other parts of the roof, outside the scope of the repair but at no charge. The cleanup was outstanding, the crew was friendly and informative, and they taught me much about doing a proper roof repair. One has to be very careful when choosing a company for a roof replacement/repair as many of them are not specialists and often short-cut artists. Just had our Fountain Hills, AZ roof fixed with Monsoon Roofing. Here are the reasons why they get a 5 star rating: 1. Melvin, owner, gave me a competitive bid. Clearly explained options for repair versus replace. (We chose to replace because of the old and ineffective underlayment.) Got 2 bids - both were competitively priced. Chose Monsoon because they provided greater underlayment overlap (essentially doubling the amount of underlayment on the roof) 2. Uses his own crew. They arrived early in the morning last week at 5:30 am during the hottest week of the year. Were mindful not to make extra noise, completely cleaned up each day and worked very hard and efficiently. 4 roofers (included a foreman) on site. Both owner and his lead came by to look at progress daily. Professional team all the way. All of our neighbors made a point to comment how they kept their noise to a minimum 3. Melvin guaranteed his work. Found the best products for our home 4. Discovered that additional repairs were needed around chimney and skylights. Provided small additional charge for materials to fix it and received approval to do the work before his crew actually did the work. 4. Had to have extra tile delivered to finish the job. Went through options and Monsoon provided best way to 'fit' new tiles on the roof without showing variance in tile (because there's no way to match old faded tiles with new tiles.) Monsoon managed to place them so that you can't see any difference from the street, in compliance with HOA standards.
