He is really that good. There are few people I have ever come across, mechanic or otherwise, who has such a capacity for integrity. I have referred everyone I know who was searching for an auto mechanic in the area to Bill and not a single person has not thanked me profusely for doing so. This guy can fix just about anything whether your car is domestic, foreign or from another galaxy far, far away. Do yourself a favor, and give him a try; you won't be disappointed. I would give him six stars if I could. (And no, he didn't put me up to this, nor do I work for him, nor did he offer me a steak and potato dinner for writing such a glowing review.) I couldn't be more sincere in my assessment.

They specialize in Japanese cars, I've taken in three of my own over the years, including two that were in very, very bad shape before I took it there. He really knows his stuff and won't lie to you. I always feel like I'm getting a great deal. I've gone in there several times and left surprised at how little I had to pay. Once I failed a smog test, the smog guy said I needed a new sensor, this and that. I took it to Carlos, he inspected the sensor, cleaned it, checked out everything else that the smog guy told me about and said that he was mistaken. I passed the smog test the next day and never had any problems since then. The total was $10. I've never felt mislead, lied to, or ripped off in any way shape or form. In fact sometimes I feel like I underpay. I remember my car was overheating once, a very old car as well. I took it to him, within an hour he determined it was the thermostat, ran down the street to get the part, and replaced it. It came out to something like $40, $50 maybe. I'm sure there's plenty of shady mechanics that would've said I needed a new radiator or something. My car at the time was 35 years old. I told him I was thinking about replacing a few things since it was so old. He looked at my suspension, and told me it was fine! That all I needed was some rubber things that cost $3. This guy often refuses work if he doesn't think you need it. Very, very honest. Sadly, he doesn't work on german car like the one I drive now. He apologized but said he would let me know if he met an honest mechanic that worked on my particular model. I haven't heard from him yet, even though there's several mechanics next to him that work on them, but I guess he won't recommend them. Now I'm back to typical car repair shops, with their crazy, expensive rates and hiked up prices. Sigh.

I moved into my new place a few months back, and received a coupon for services from All Speed…read moreamidst a bundle of other ads. I needed to get my brakes changed, and their prices were reasonable, so I went. I had all my pads changed, and because the previous owner of the vehicle was negligent, had all my rotors turned. Everything seemed fine, but the next day, I noticed a squeaking sound. I figured it would go away once the pads were broken in, but it never did. Finally, I called All Speed, and they told me to bring the car in. As soon as I get there, we take it around the block, and it happens to be the one time that they stop squeaking. Fine. It started again the next day, so I brought it back in. I took his repairman around the block, listened to the noises, but the repairman claimed that he heard nothing. I didn't know if he was lying, or just plain hard-of-hearing, but I was irritated. The owner agreed to go around the block with me, the brakes made noise, and he also said he heard nothing. Now I've had friends comment on the noise before, so I know I wasn't imagining it. At this point, I was irate. He agreed to go around the block one more time, and I even pointed out the noise, but the owner still claimed he heard nothing. They could see that I was fuming, so they agreed to manually check the brakes, just so they could prove me wrong. When they finally did, they found something that shouldn't have been there. I understand that everyone makes mistakes, that's fine, but fix them when you do. The owner came back and said that there was indeed something there that shouldn't have been, and he didn't know how it got there. It was obviously from negligence of when they had changed the pads before, but he wouldn't take responsibility for the mistake. I understand, he may have been fearful of a lawsuit or something, but take responsibility for your mistakes. Don't tell me you can't hear a noise simply because you don't want to fix it.

Needless to say, I have had to take my car in quite a lot. I took it to a few places in my local area (I live on the westside), but there always seemed to be something wrong with the work they did. So after a friend recommended this place I figured it couldn't hurt to try since I hadn't found a garage that I liked. They have been nothing but wonderful! The guy that does most of the work, I think his name is Carlos, is really knowledgeable. I haven't had a single problem that he hasn't been able to fix. Unlike the previous reviewer, I've never had to take my car back in for the same repair. Their prices are VERY reasonable so I keep taking it back. In fact, I've been able to get more things done than I had planned since their prices were good.
