Super nice guy, can't remember his name.... My husband brought the car here on Saturday around 3pm bc they list open hours until 4 30pm on Saturday.... however the shop was actually closed but the mechanic/manager was still there and apologized for yelp listing the wrong times. He went ahead and did the smog Check anyways for a deal of $35 with mention of yelp! He didn't have to take the job after hours but he did. What a stand-up guy! read more

I am just now realizing what people meant when they told me that I had grown up in a "sheltered" community. Incidentally, I grew up in Simi Valley, which is mostly "suburban." So what does this mean when it comes to reviewing gas stations (and supermarkets)? Well, for one thing, it means that where I grew up, when it was time to gas up the family truckster, we would pull into a service station that did not double as a hostel for the homeless. Also, the people who worked at the filling stations did not look at you as though you were an enemy. Also, although I was a kid before people paid at the pump, it means that my neighbourhood gas stations would have refilled their fucking receipt dispensors on the pumps instead of forcing you to go into the shop, wait in line, and request a "duplicate" receipt EVERY TIME YOU GET GAS THERE. Because that would defeat the purpose of paying at the pump, wouldn't it? Also, when I was little, I remember there being windshield washers and clean water to squeejee your windshields. Not empty buckets with trash in them. My childhood gas stations would have emptied its trash bins too. And they would have had nice driveways, not third-world minefields to drive through, clenching your teeth whilst trying to avoid busting an axle on a pothole. But again, I was sheltered. read more

I went here to get a smog test and the guy was really nice. He even went next store and got me a free drink from the shop!! I've never had that done for me. It was fast and friendly and I would definitly go back. read more

After my experience taking my car here I couldn't understand the bad reviews posted on yelp. I can only figure it's because the place has a new owner (whom I dealt with) & the previous guy must have been shady? I have no idea how they used to be, but this is new guy is GREAT . I went in for a smog check, which I was very nervous about. He was nice enough to explain all the little things that can make you fail a smog test when it's easy for your car to pass (loose gas cap, modifications to the engine, tire inflation, warming your car up first, etc.), and even checked to make sure my tires were properly inflated before starting the test, (which I passed!). Also when I mentioned yelp, he gave me a huge discount. Two days later, I was running errands and jumped back in my car to find that it wouldn't turn over. It had been running fine all day & suddenly...nothing. I was only about 8 blocks from this shop, so I assumed if it needed to be towed, they would be the least expensive option. I called & talked to the owner, who asked me some questions about the problem & (this is where the story gets UNBELIEVABLY AWESOME) he told me to sit tight, he'd drive over to meet me in the parking lot I was stranded in & take a look. Are you kidding me?! You'd have to time warp back to 1950 to get this kind of service. He was there in less than 10 mins & (of course) as soon as he tried it my car started. He suggested I follow him back to the shop so he could check it out. He jacked up the car & found that I had a loose connector, which he promptly remedied. (He also did a temp fix for my side mirror that is broken.) I was out of there in 20 mins and he didn't charge me anything, only requested that I bring my car there for any maintenance I might need in the future because he's trying to build his business. I can not recommend this guy highly enough! I freak out when something goes wrong with my car & immediately wonder where I'm going to get the money to fix it. It's such a relief to know an honest mechanic with impeccable customer service, who is not out to gouge people. I will definitely be taking my car here from now on. Hope this helps! read more

Arin, the owner is a just plain awesome! I had taken my car to a pep boys 2 weeks before and they had left the oil cap off of my engine. So its 10 minutes past closing as I roll up to the Chevron, Arin is walking to his car, but he opens up shop again just to help me out and give the engine a quick run-through to see if it was safe to drive home. I ended up leaving the car over night, Arin checked through the engine for metal shavings etc. He also helped me out detailing what I should do in order to make Pep Boys pay for all of the checks that I had to get done to make sure that nothing was wrong with my engine. I have gone to Arin ever since for tires/oil/any other maintenance I have needed. I trust him completely with my car. Its really a good feeling not to have to worry about your car when you drop it off with a mechanic. read more

Easy Breezy Smog check for $35 with yelp check-in. Arin and co-worker were friendly and helpful. They were able to assist me right away. I only waited the length of the diagnosis, 10mins. Two other cars showed after, so this place has to have a fast turn around time. Thanks ! read more

This Chevron will jack your card info!!!!! It has happened to us twice and they let people pay to park there for 5 dollars or 8 dollars or 10 dollars or whatever they want to charge at that time and put it in their pocket. this whole place is shady!! STAY AWAY!! read more

Paid almost $800 to "fix everything" my car needed, only to have a leaky over-heating car a week after I picked it up. Their excuse was that my car is old and developed new problems... in a week?? I demanded they fix it forreal, only to be charged another $40 for a part. After that my car STILL had problems. Completely fed up, I took it to another referred mechanic, who fixed everything for $250. Haven't had a problem since. I wish I could sue them, but unfortunately lost the proper paper work form the original job. CROOKS. read more

This review is for the guy at the convenience store. He could be the owner or an employee. I stopped by today to use the restroom.I parked and went inside. I was looking for someone to ask where the restroom was. Then I found this guy outside and asked him if they had a restroom. He said no. Then I looked at the inside of the store and there was a big sign that says RESTROOM! To the guy who was too selfish to let other people use the restroom, it's given for gas stations to let patrons use their restrooms! Yes I was a patron because I was gonna buy some snack after I go but you were too selfish to let me use it. When you need gas and around this area, there's a gas station by Sunset and La Brea. The employee working there was nice and helpful. Don't give your business to a stingy man. read more

The manager ARIN is the best. When I had to get a new catalytic converter last year he threw in a free smog check. And when I took the car back to him a year later due to check engine light he gave me a free diagnostic, which softened the blow that my engine was actually shot and thus my crappy car was totaled. He then got someone to buy the car from me for a decent price same day and let me borrow his own car to go home and get the car title. Now he is going to help me find a new used car to by and make sure it's one that's in good shape! He is a very sweet and genuine person, which is very valuable when one is dealing with the stressful issue of car problems in a town where cars are king! read more

Filling up here seemed somewhat nonchalant, and was not my first time at said station. That is until our Credit Card Fraud Department called us up the same day we filled up to inform us that the place had charged our card twice for $100. No where near correct considering our original purchase was around $70.00 I returned to the station level-headed to inform the manager of the apparent mishap thinking some routine error had occurred and to let them know what the CC Fraud dept. had stated. Employee responded immediately in argumentative banter stating "That's not possible." Whatever, I will let the Credit Card Fraud dept. handle them. Shady place. I would stay far, far away. read more

It is a Valero station now. This is the worst gas station in Hollywood. Dirty. the customer service by this non-caring clerk is non-existent. he is rude and it seems like this dude (pm shift) believes you owe him something. Old black coffee, dirty floor, over-price (HEY! You are in Hollywood. Better pay me higher prices) Drive a little further and support a more enthusiastic business. Fuel is Fuel, right, but WHY support a rude, non-caring business when you can support and more friendly and engaged staff. by the way, the pm guy is this bald Iranian guy, not to confuse this dumb idiot with someone who actually cares about his job and customers. I purchased gasoline at this Valero station and then parked my car in an area on the lot for a short time. There are plenty of open spaces and no tow signs visible. I was not gone for 30 minutes and when I returned I found my car towed. I find this unbelievable. I thanked the clerk for the gas, but then indicated I would not be returning for gas at his station again. As a paying customer I would expect to be treated better. read more
