I've been a customer here since the store opened in the 80s, but sadly they have lost my business. Over the past three years the service has become increasingly bad. I'm rarely met with a smile and often feel as though I am putting out the staff by having the nerve to ask them to - gasp - MONOGRAM something. I've tried returning a few times in the last few years, because in spite of the horrid attitudes the work is good. I will not, however, give them any more chances. The last time I was in the sales person snapped at me when I asked a question: I was trying to decide on a font and she practically yelled, "Block or script?! PICK ONE!" Needless to say, I was taken aback! Aside from her outburst, she was generally rude & dismissive throughout the time I spoke with her. Incidentally, I was placing a nearly $100 order, so I don't feel that I was wasting her time. Whether I'm spending $10 or $100+, I expect to be treated kindly when I am in a store. I will NEVER shop at the Monogram Lady again. There are other options in town - try Personally Yours or Flying Threads. Or, if you have the time, shop around on line. I couldn't be more impressed! I dropped off two Pottery Barn suitcases to be monogrammed for my daughters' Christmas gifts. The store is adorable and Tracy spent time with me going over different fonts, sizing, and helping me get the best color match (even grabbing thread from the back to be sure we'd picked the right one). She told me they were very busy with the Christmas rush but she'd try to get them done by 4pm on the day before Christmas Eve. When I showed up at 5 they weren't done yet. I'm sure she saw the disappointment and panic written all over my face! We were leaving town the next morning and I felt terrible that my girls would be missing their big gift. Tracy assured me they would do everything they could to get them done by close at 6pm. I mentioned that I live in Cedar Park but would get back to the store ASAP if they could get them done. I called to check in just after 6 and they put Tracy on the phone. She said, "I just trimmed the thread on your second suitcase. I live in Cedar Park, too. Can you meet me at the HEB?". Heck yes I can!!! Now THAT is exceptional service. The monograms look beautiful, Christmas is saved, and I will definitely be back! read more

I don't know what's wrong with this place but they basically turned down my business when I asked to have my son's backpack embroidered because his name was too long. What?! When I asked about font sizes the clerk said it wouldn't look right. So I left. What's funny is they sell the same kind of backpacks there that I bought online, so they embroider them often,not sure why they couldn't problem solve this. read more

They have especially come through on all occasions were I am needing anything last minute. There is always a great product here but the service is important too! STOP! do not use the monogram lady for gifts of any kind! I ordered monogram wine glasses for Christmas gifts and what I received were flimsy, cheap, crappy plastic throwaway cups. why on earth would anyone monogram a throwaway cup? and that is the quality of what I received. the website is very deceiving. it clearly states wine glass. when I received the crap I got, I called the number only to get a machine (imagine that) then I looked on the website for a return, review tab of which there is none (should be a clue) I could only leave an email. later in the day I got a call back. I explained how dissatisfied and disappointed I was with this order and requested a refund as I had already sent the package back. I was informed at that time that I would not be getting a refund. they don't do refunds. I explained that the website is very inaccurate and I was told that it states the product was plastic. it was written out under the description of wine GLASS bpa-free polymer. now that does not tell me that it is plastic, as I was told it did. I see glass for description not plastic. I should not have to google product description in order to know that it is made of plastic and not glass when it clearly state glass. the rudeness and horrible attitude was also a great disappointment. the monogram lady practices bad business and is all lies and scams. Terrible service. Ignorant staff and poor management. Buyer beware. I was here a week ago looking to get something heat vinyl pressed to which Kate told me it could be done no problem. She told me that if I brought my items back in a week (I had to buy them but first wanted to make sure they could do the service) that they could turn them around in 7 days. I return today to be told that since my item is not holiday related it will have to sit for 2 weeks in their workroom before they can get to it and that they MIGHT get it done before end of year. They also could not promise quality of work and they could not assume liability if they ruined the items but I would still have to pay for the work done. WTF? While Jeanelle was at least apologetic and all of this feedback came from someone behind curtains that actually does the work, it's unacceptable and I don't see how a business like this is able to survive today in Austin. Pathetic. I look forward to someone reaching out to me and providing an explanation as to why I was promised one thing and then told something totally different upon my return. I asked to speak to the manager in charge but was told that Tracie was too busy. Thank you Monogram Lady for wasting my time. read more

Monogram Lady is a cute store, however everything is overpriced. $17 for a vinyl decal? Log onto Etsy.com and you can get the same thing for $3. The employees are friendly, but they talked bad about a customer who had just left the store in front of me while I was trying to buy something, which is very immature. Overall, I do like their stitched monograms, I just think there are better and cheaper places to go to where immature women won't talk crap about you behind your back. A month or so ago I emailed about Columbia fishing shirts and was told they carry them so I decided to call and double check before going out of the way to the store and when I showed up I was told they did not have any in the store because the owner had taken them home but was told they would bring them back the next day and would give me a call..... I got a call back over a week later that they had the shirts in but by this point I had already ordered from somewhere else. Fast forward to this week, I once again emailed and called about having a monogram removed and redone and was told they could do this and even said I would be by in the next day or two to drop off the item. I once again went out of my way to go to this store and when I got to the counter I was told they were not removing or monogramming anymore items due to the demand they already had for Christmas and that I could bring it back in January but I need the item the first week in January which I stated when I called! While the store has very cute items, I will not be back because you all have wasted my time not once but twice! I tried to give you all another chance because I understand sometimes things happen but you blew that chance. read more

ABSOLUTE WORSE PLACE EVER!!! I wouldnt recommend anyone coming here!! I brought in 7 Vera Bradley hanging travel organizers to get monogrammed for gifts and specified the font color, size and location (which was also written on my ticket) and to my surprise they monogrammed them in the completely wrong spot. I brought this to their attention and they said it was no issue removing the stitching and that I wouldnt even be able to tell they did it incorrectly, I agreed to this ONLY if there was no way you could tell. Well, I got a voicemail from them a few days later letting me know they were done and look great. I went to pick them up and they looked horrible, they were all ripped where they were previously stitched so I brought this to their attention and the worker said oh well the monogrammer put "no fray" on the rips to keep it from ripping further. REALLY? like i was going to be happy the rip wasnt going to get bigger? I asked what could be done and they offered me a refund on the monogram which i accepted but then I asked what they were going to do about the 7 organizers I purchased and I was told NOTHING, they couldnt do anything because they didnt carry that one. I said thats fine, I will settle for ones you have and they said they couldnt do that either. I then asked to talk to the owner who came from the back with a complete attitude and said "ya, Im the owner, what? well, after 45 min of going back and forth with her she proceeded to say she couldnt do anything and that she didnt know what else I wanted for her to say. WIth it all said and done she agreed to replace 1 only 1 because it was the worst ripped one. WOW at this point I had to leave, it was ridiculous. Lesson learned, DONT go here...you will regret it!! I am not sure how this lady is still running a business with such a rude, uncaring, selfless attitude. read more

I would like to first say that I have been bringing some handmade things into this shop to be embroidered on three occcasions now which they have very gladly accepted to work on. I too have had some very nice work done here but there have been some things that could have been done better. When I pointed out the problem it was blamed on me making the wrong choice of letter size or font or I got complete indifference. They did redo one item where the name was embroidered crooked but they never said they were sorry that that had happened. There has never been a "I am sorry this happened" or "how can we make this better". In fact, they acted like I should not have made any comments at all and that I was the problem customer and should accept whatever they gave me. I am sure that working on items that are not standard is not easy but I just felt so humiliated and put down with their general attitude - and yes, the prices are a bit high but I am willing to pay if the work is done nicely. I think having a successful business in Northwest Hills seems to give them the right to take all complaints with indifference. read more
