Very good place! I went there for dinner yesterday night. The restaurant looks nice and feels quite cosy, very good if you actually intend to speak to the person you're dining with (unlike some restaurants I might review later), and the service is attentive but not too much. We had some steamed pork and prawn dumplings (Kanom Jeeb, which are very similar to Siu Mai) as an appetiser with a very good sauce. Then my friend had a tofu curry with some rice and I chose an amazing soup. Fortunately this is a written review so you won't have to suffer through my horrible pronunciation of Guay Tiew Neua, which is the name of said beef noodle soup. Slightly spicy, very flavourful, LOTS of meat, maybe not enough greens. Good broth (I love a good broth!), okay noodles. Cost us about £15 each with non alcoholic drinks (Tea and a big bottle of sparkling water - look at us being healthy!). Most dishes are between £8 and £11. Sides around £3. read more

Pretty impressive Thai with some dishes that were exceptional. A friendly restaurant at the back of Baker Street which was very welcoming and although had dome difficulty with opening others champagne did pretty well with the service. There were a couple of dishes that set the taste buds alight - coconut rice which I would order every wkend if I could and the signature duck dish which I unfortunately didn't have. They have solid Thai Iced Tea and the ambiance is also very nice. I would recommend this place for a quiet Friday night dinner out.

I've been to Monkey & Me twice and was thoroughly impressed both times. Great service and atmosphere. Each of us has enjoyed everything we ordered. I don't know that anything we had would be considered "cutting edge", but all of it has been prepared and seasoned very well. Prices and value are quite reasonable. We will be regulars! read more

Wow ! I mean it. The food was simply FANTASTIC. Relatively small venue, tables a bit too close to each other (that's a minus), elegant ambience, good service. The food, however, outdid everything else. The Tom Yum soup (w/prawns) was probably the best I've ever had: a perfectly balanced mix of flavours, ingredients were all super fresh, beautiful colors the works. When I think of food to warm up your heart, now I think of that soup. Main entree: stir fried prawns with vegs the prawns were outstandingly fresh, beautifully presented, and perfect color/flavor/texture combination. read more

2 stars. As defined by Yelp - "Meh. I've experienced better". Bland, overpriced, and sometimes way too much salt...one dish I couldn't finish because it was too salty. They get the 2 stars for their outdoors cafe style seating and lovely ambience inside Go for Two Point if you're looking for flavourful thai food for possibly half the price. Granted, the atmosphere at M & M is better for meeting friends, but for delivery/take away I'd go for Two Point anyday. read more

Great local restaurant with a nice buzzy atmosphere and well-priced food. I've tried many of the dishes on the menu which have all been delicious but the massaman curry is definitely my favourite. Would definitely recommend for good Thai food, plus the lunchtime deal is great value. The only drawback is that on weekends they tend to get pretty busy and service can get a little slower. read more

Am I glad that the tubes got disrupted this evening and had to take a different route home! On recommendation from a friend who works nearby, I went to Monkey and Me for dinner at around 7pm on a Tuesday evening. There's another Thai restaurant just a few doors down but she said this was the better one and though I haven't been to the other one, I can't argue! Service: Thai staff. Friendly, attentive & efficient. Drinks arrived within 2 minutes of ordering. Starters within 5 minutes and mains at a nice 5 minute interval after the starters. Can't be faulted. Atmosphere: Really lovely. Some easy-listening back ground music, nice decor & lighting. Though I chose to sit outside where they had a couple of tables. So nice to watch the world go by while the sun was setting. A fair few of the tables were reserved already (slightly surprising for a Tuesday evening!) and the one side of the restaurant was just about full. But not noisy at all. Food: presentation was lovely and just looked so yummy. Ingredients clearly high quality. Everything super fresh and piping hot. Taste just perfect to me. Full of flavour and nothing over-powering despite the fish cakes being spicy. Portions are more than generous! Value for money: Good. Starter of fish cakes, large portion of Thai crackers, sparkling water, gin & tonic, steamed rice and Massaman curry all came to £22 inclusive or service. Would I recommend and go back? Despite what one of the other reviewers says there are in fact three Thai restaurants on Crawford Street, and this is by the far the best of them. The food is excellent - as good or better than most meals I've eaten in Thailand, and excellent value too. We first went just after it opened (they still didn't have an alcohol license so you could take your own wine at the time), and have been regulars ever since. The decor is relatively modern, the restaurant having only opened a few years ago, and have always found the staff to be pleasant enough. read more

monkey&me is the kind of place that a thai would recommend you to go. isn't that enough guarantee? the menu is long enough to get lost a couple of times, and to lure the waitress to the table before you know a thing to order. let me help you. soups are great, and they are a classic for thai people. either the ones with coconut milk or the glass noddles one will please you. you'll find out why do they call it glass noddles which is already cool. then go for the curries, and, for god shake, once here, ask for the red, and see how your head is about to exploit with chillie. it is all an experience. if you don't stand spicy food, you should not be in a thai in the first place. however, there are a few options, such as duck, which is also great. also to say, tables are small, staff is a bit dumb, but decoration is ok, and the food is authentic. it was cool for me. we pay 40£ for two persons drinking wine and two courses. read more

Grilled calamari and thai peanut salad as starters, delicious. Tamarind duck main with coconut rice was very nice. The sauce was sweet and the crunchy topping was a great touch. The duck is served on top of pok choi (I think) and that was a good complement, adding some crisp veg flavor. My dinner companion had a jungle curry with chicken - he found out a little runnier/more watery than he would have liked. So the food was good. The ambience much better than anticipated. But the service left something to be desired. They messed up our bill. So 3 stars. This part is more about our annoying experience with some rude patrons, so read for your own amusement of you like ... We had a booking. A couple of rude Scandinavian guys sat down after us, at the table behind us, without a booking. We ordered our drinks, starters, and mains. Then before the server could take our orders to the kitchen, the guys behind us demanded that they place their order before she run off. Unfortunately the poor server felt compelled to do so. Then the rude guys sat there having a long dialogue with the server about every detail of every item on the menu for about ten minutes. Delaying our food. The server was not bold enough to say something to the guys and get away. After she left I said something to them however. They said they were just SO HUNGRY they couldn't wait (implying our hunger could wait, though)...and they said it was because there was only one server. This was not true. Was introduced to this restaurant by a friend when I moved I London about a year ago, it was her favourite restaurant and it has come to be my favourite as well. Never really had Thai food back home (Sweden) but have come to really really enjoy it and monkey and me is the place to go to if you want reasonably priced quality Thai food. Have tried many different dishes and all of them has been a treat. My favourite so far though, is number 39, a duck stew with veggies. read more

We've eaten at Monkey and Me, as well as ordered delivery, many times. Although we've always enjoyed the food, I would caution against delivery. They have been getting slower and slower lately. Tonight it was two hours for delivery, which was an hour longer than stated. Very disappointing. We'll be ordering delivery from Too Mai going forward. read more

Discovered this restaurant recently and we really enjoyed the simplicity of the decor, the authenthicity of the menu, the quality of the food. This local restaurant without pretention offers a very varied authentic menu at a good price, and being Lao/Thai myself, I am highly recommending this place for a local nice meal.
