Loved everything about this restaurant from the service to the food. Came on a Tuesday night for a date night with my husband. We made a reservation however, it being a Tuesday night I don't think it was necessary. The atmosphere is quaint and has a romantic feel to it especially with the dim lighting which we liked. There were a couple of large parties which made for a very loud noise level but it did not bother us. The sampler appetizer was our favorite thing since it had a little of everything. The ribs in the sampler stuck out in flavor and I wish I ordered them for my entree. We also ordered tamarind duck with a side of fried rice and shrimp pad Thai. The decision to dine here is not regrettable. Lucky for us this place was well within walking distance from our hotel and was a great dinner choice. They are open until 11pm and we arrived around 10pm. The place was not crowded so we we seated immediately. I finally settled on the duck egg rolls and chicken satay for sharing. For dinner I ordered the Pud Thai. There were surprisingly quick to prepare the dinner and bring it out to the table. The duck eggs rolls were crispy and delicious, however, I much preferred them with the peanut sauce that accompanies the chicken satay rather than the sauce that they are served with. The chicken satay was also good. The juicy pieces of chicken were presented on skewers. I love pad Thai so ordering the "Pud Thai" was a natural go to item. It was very, very good. Overall the service and food is good here. It was our plan to return a second time for dinner, however, our schedule didn't permit it. read more

We ordered Take Away tonight. Our Appetizer starter were shrimp rolls. They were yumm but how can you go wrong. As for the mains, we wanted our usual Pad See Ew but they did not have the correct noodles. I don't even think it's even on their menu but they did accommodate us. They improvised and used their thickest noodle (something like a fettuccine noodle- except of course it wasn't). The sauce was bland bland bland and could have used more sauce, spice, flavor, something. The second dish we ordered was Singapore Chicken noodles. This dish had nice flavor, lots of egg and chicken. Although it had some kind of red pepper it was not in any way spicy. We liked this dish the best. The portions were sufficient and along with rice it was enough to feed three people. This quaint little restaurant is a hidden gem in the Victoria district in London. Being from Hawaii, we were impressed by their yummy Thai food! Came here for a late dinner after our evening walking tour of Westminster. We ordered the Pad Kie Mow (spicy, but good) and the green curry with sticky rice. Both were amazing and a delicious way to end our night. Sri Suwoon was a great change to the typical pub fare we've been eating on our trip lately. We ordered selection appetizers, fried rice, beef tenderloin salad, sea bass with basil spices, and seafood soup. For dessert we got the coconut ice cream, it tasted ok. We had better else where. My goodness does this place have memorably tasty Thai food. Came here for dinner on a Saturday night with my Dad and we both were immensely satisfied with our two courses. Everything we had was very, very flavorful in the best possible way. It all tasted different, too. Each appetizer and entree we had was very different from one another, and very different from what I've experienced before. The quality of the dishes was such that I would have expected to pay much more, but the prices were average, bordering on below-average for London. I guess I could argue that my sticky rice was a bit too sticky. And their friendly staff speaks very limited English. But that's where my criticisms end. I even found their wooden chairs unexpectedly very comfortable. Their menu is extensive. If I had the means to frequent this neighborhood, I would be delighted to try more of their offerings. Everyone appreciates different things in a restaurant. For some people there's nothing more important than the food. For others it's the location. And for others it's that indefinable thing 'atmosphere'. For me, I like fairly specific things, even within those sub-sections. Food should be delicious (ok, not particularly specific), the location should be close to home, and the atmosphere, most of all, should be quiet and well-lit. Yes, I am an old man in my mid-twenties, and Sri Suwoon is the perfect restaurant for me. I often go there as a weekday evening treat and it is rarely busy, meaning we usually get a nice quiet seat by the window. Rather than obnoxiously loud music, they prefer a low-key Massive Attack soundtrack which is great cos then I can hear what people are saying. But, ultimately, I wouldn't keep going back to Sri Suwoon if the food wasn't good, which it is. I can say with a reasonable degree of conviction that this is the best Thai restaurant in Pimlico. I usually start with the Tom Kar (or Kha) which is enormous, creamy and with tender, lemony chicken. I am a Tom Kha aficionado and few places do a better soup than Sri Suwoon. For my main course, I am a committed devourer of the Gang Mussaman with sticky rice - the meat is, once again, uncommonly tender, and the sauce is just delicious. I could quite happily sit through this set meal (Tom Kha/Gang Mussaman/Jasmine tea) every night for the rest of my life. My dining companions often have prawn dishes, which they rave about and we've tried a variety of the starters, including the veggie spring rolls and the chilli squid, and they've all been good. I think that Sri Suwoon is a flawless restaurant for quick and easy weekday night dining. The decor is super low-key and it might not be the best fit for date night or birthday parties, but it's a great place to go and spend £15-20 on a delicious dinner. read more

This is a charming Thai place on the very quiet Hugh Street. It's a rather unassuming place, but inside is quite quaint. There's plenty of seating and it is nice for a quiet dinner date. I ordered takeaway (that's TO GO for all you Americans reading this), and it was quite fast, maybe 10-15 minutes or so. I ordered the tom kha soup and the pad kee mao. The tom kha soup was one of the best I've had out of all the Thai places. They give you a good quantity and it was quite rich and thick. I really like that coconut milk soup base taste and they did a good job here. There's a lot of stuff in the soup, like meat, mushrooms, etc. The pad kee mao was decent but I was so full from the soup that I didn't get to eat a lot of it. There were also some bean sprouts which I don't like, so I had to pick those out. The noodles here are thin, and there's a lot of them. read more

Found this place per Yelp reviews. Tilting head waitress girl was difficult to understand. It was as though she was mechanical... I ordered a chicken curry dish, but was served duck. I'm perplexed as to how this restaurant received such good reviews. We came for dinner and there were only a few tables seated. That should have been a first indication that the food isn't good since it was on a weekend. The food came out pretty quickly once our order was placed. The spring rolls were ok. The main dishes were bland and tasteless. This is NOT Thai food. The plain jasmine rice had more flavor then the curries we ordered. Service was unprofessional and they were just plain rude. We didn't finish our meals and got out as fast as we could so we could get to another Thai restaurant before they closed. My friend and I were looking for a quiet place to enjoy an evening meal near our hotel. Thanks to Yelp we were guided to Sri Suwoon. It was exactly what we were looking for. Sri Suwoon looks like it is located in a converted house with two floors of dining space. The interior is warm, charming, and inviting. The service was incredibly friendly and perfectly timed. My friend and I enjoyed two different curry dishes with a bottle of white wine. I had a green curry, and she had a seasonal curry. They were both tasty and delicious. I hadn't seen my friend in several years and we enjoyed several hours catching up over great food at Sri Suwoon. We also enjoyed a delicious light dessert. They don't close at 6. They are open until 10:45 every day. Yelp says they close at 6, but they don't. I am glad that we called, because the food was extremely delicious. The prawn satay appetizer was perfect. The curry was nice. They made it more spicy upon my request, which was quite nice of them. I prefer to leave a tip when the service is great, which it was. This place is the only place in London that has allowed me to put the tip on my card. Also nice! And the ambiance music was uber relaxing. Very enjoyable Thai dinner, tucked away on a side street in the neighborhood. We were able to get in on a week night without a reservation but it was crowded so it might be worth calling ahead on Friday or Saturday night. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside is rather lovely and our server was very kind and helpful. I had the the Tom Young Soup - delicious! I followed it with the chicken ka prow. Portions were very reasonable but not as large as many places I've seen - prices were fine. Unfortunately however, I'd have to agree with a number of other guests who commented on the blandness of the food. I ordered the Hot & Sour Shrimp Soup (Tom Yum Goong) and while the broth was quite nice, it's the first time I've had shrimp that had clearly not been cooked in the broth and they were very bland. The chicken pad thai was good in most respects, the noodles and chicken perfectly prepared. Unfortunately again, so little flavour which really left it wanting. The prawn chips were fine but instead of a spicy peanut sauce which is what I've been served everywhere else, they presented it with a very sweet red sauce. We started with Vegetarian Spring Rolls and Chicken Satay, both of which were very good, fresh and piping hot. For entrees we had Gai Ta Krai and Gang Puk. Both were served medium-hot spice-wise, had fresh ingredients, and were very, very good. The restaurant is cute, with a modern Thai flair, and clean. My only complaint is that my Thai Iced Tea glass was filled to the rim with ice, so there wasn't a lot of tea to drink. Next time I'd ask for only 1/2 glass of ice, so I could enjoy more of the tea. read more

I had high hopes for this place. I really did. But, maybe the chef had an off night when we went. We started with the fried soft shell crab appetizer. Our main course was the Pud Thai and the green chicken curry. Finished off with the fried bananas and ice cream. The start and the finish entrees were decent enough. The main courses were bland. Not just a little bit. Like no flavor at all! We asked for red pepper to maybe spice things up, but it was still totally lacking in flavor! Let me start with the atmosphere and ambience since that is part of the dining experience. We (my wife and I) stayed near Belgrade Rd & Warwick Way and was looking for a place within 1/4 mile (400m) or so. Searched Yelp and found Sri Suwoon to be rated 5 stars by 16 Reviewers (as of June 2016) and figured that many reviewers can't be wrong (the last time I saw that many perfect reviews was when a Restaurant offered a discount for positive Reviews on Yelp but the food was only 3 to 4 stars at most). On our walk down to Sri Suwoon, we passed by the Eccleston Square with one residence displaying the placard "Winston Churchill's Former Residence" (something like that) across from the Ecclestone Square Park. Along the same street, we saw Porches, Jaguars, Mercedes, so we know the Restaurant is located close to upscale neighborhoods. We showed up at 1830 and were seated right away (we were in Paris earlier in the week so we know Europeans typically eat much later than us folks across the pond in the New Colonies so it was not a surprised to be "early birds" at 1830). Interior was quite ordinary with about 25~30 "tables for two" many joined with just a small fraction for 2. There were 3 Tables (single gentleman in a suit, a couple with the gent in suit and another all ladies wining and dining out). Within minutes of our arrival, we were joined by a young couple with a stroller with their very well behaved (is this typical in London unlike in the Colonies and elsewhere or perhaps the baby was just asleep? LOL). There were 2 long contiguous tables reserved with over dozen seats and we were later joined by one group of Londoners entertaining a couple of Asian Guests (to take Asian guests to an Asian Restaurant, the locals must really think highly of the food). Now for for the food: All the tables had a single stem red rose (this part I suppose is still ambience) along with a crispy chip appetizer/starter - this was different (after being in Paris we got used to the dense bread that we don't typically get on our side of the pond) but a pleasant surprise. It was quite delicious with a hint of shrimp but not too much so as to be overpowering. I think this set the tone for the Entrée. The menu was 6 pages long and price of Entrées surprisingly low like many under 10£ (so more consistent with £ rather than ££ found on Yelp). We saw several dishes being served to other tables (curry with distinct yellow/light orange color with that exotic aroma, poultry with vegetables, meat with noodles, etc.) and realized that the prices were £ for about 1/2 quantity we typically get in the Colonies so ££ is about right. We decided that 3 Entrées with rice (they ask you if we wanted rice or not but I highly recommend it since some Entrees might be too spicy without so use the rice to "tone down" the spices. We ordered 3 simple dishes - I forgot their names since my wife ordered all of them (dishes she wanted to try/compare). Singapore Noodles, Fried Fish with Vegetables, and Tofu with Vegetables. The Fried Fish with Vegetables were quite delicious, perhaps as good as the come, but needed rice to tone down the fish sauce. The Tofu with Vegetables was in a different sauce (Hoisin?) and was good as you get in a Chinese Restaurant and also needed rice to tone down. The Singapore Noodles were lightly fried for crispness and needed no toning down so if you only order noodle dishes, skip the rice (we also got a shrimp pad tai to go along with shrimp chips for our daughter and this was perfect without). Our recommendation is to go with traditional Thai dishes like pad tai, curry, fish, and you should get as good a dish as you've had anywhere (4~5) but go for something like Chinese and Singapore, they're pretty good (3~4). But with the ambience (4) and the price (5), especially the locale, Sri Suwoon is an outstanding value (5). Sorry no photos of the meals but the appearance of the dishes didn't seem to warrant a photo (their menu is photo-less as well). We went back 2 nights later and ordered traditional Thai dishes (fried soft shell crab, Aberdeen/eggplant dish, etc.,) and again found them have great flavor, crispness (crab as well as bean sprouts which were uncooked and crispy) and to be great values. read more

The best Thai food I've ever had bar none. We just thought we'd try out this cute little neighborhood spot and the next thing you know we went three times in one week. The Ka Num Jeep appetizer is phenomenal and so is the Drunken Fish main course. The Pud Kee Maow Gai was my favorite though. They also had a tiger prawn special that was to die for. Coming from California and being spoiled with good Thai food I would say that this place was ok, but not great. Definitely would not be five star in Cali. The service was polite, but not overly friendly. If we asked for something, we received it, but they didn't go out of their way to refill water glasses or let us know when the food would arrive. The food took a while to arrive as well. We ordered our usual pad Thai, red curry with chicken, and had some spring rolls. All the sauces were a bit watered down from what we are used to, but the food was still good. I will give them an extra star for their nice clean bathroom. I always appreciate that! read more

A little hidden away but certainly worth hunting out. Lovely, friendly family run restaurant. My Mussaman was rich and flavoursome combining Thai curry with indian spices. My brother's Larb Nua salad brought beautifuly tender beef rib eye together with a fragrant, spicy, zesty mango salad. The aubergine graprouw with chargrilled baby aubergine was sweet and smokey. A great little gem of a Thai restaurant, hidden on the back streets just over the bridge from the Victoria Coach Station. The food is averagely priced and full of flavour, and while the portions aren't huge, you're never left feeling hungry. The staff are friendly and polite. The one down side is that it lacks atmosphere - it is often very quiet and being in a residential area doesn't help this. It can be quite intimate with friends and not necessarily in a good way! I much prefer getting take-away from here and it's possible to call in advance and it doesn't take long. read more
