Not many places in London are able to seat a table of 10 in the fly but here they were able to accommodate. Larger groups should definitely consider this place just solely based on the space alone. This place is a quick and easy place if you are looking for Thai food. I thought the menu covered all the key items you would expect from a Thai restaurant. The only downfall to this restaurant is the lack of friendly and personable service. As a sit down restaurant, you would expect some hospitality, but this particular restaurant lacked crossed all the restaurants we visited in SoHo. Don't know if they have a lunch menu, but I dined-in during dinner and the prices are insanely high compared to what I'm accustomed with. I ordered the green curry. Spicy. That's what I received .Now for like 20 USA dollars, you'd expect rice to be included . Nope. Rice was -- get this-- an extra $6 dollars! I'm willing to splash as I'm on vacation, but I'm expecting value. I got half 'n half, and I'm not talking about the coffee. The rice was super , super dry, bland and over cooked. For six dollars, I would have done better without it. The green curry came out spicy, and enjoyable , especially during a rainy dark London night. Instead of typical peppers in the broth, there were also additional snap peas. The curry had a creamy consistency, but not as thick as I was hoping for. At least it was spicy as I ordered . For dinner portion, it was only modestly bigger than what I'd consider lunch portion. No bang for your buck here. Good , but the whole meal was around $30 . We walked into this restaurant seeing the yelp reviews when exploring for vegan option retaurant around Soho. For drinks we ordered Gauva collins and koh phi phi which was refreshing. The food portion is okay just for one person if not very hungry. The restaurant ambience was good and the service good overall. Dinner tonight and we were seated fast. The seating is large square tables where you party is seated at a corner. Just a note on the service you need to ask For things by flagging down a server. For us they were attentive but was ask for the service we needed when we needed. I Had the hot ginger tea and my partner had a singha Tia beer. This was our last meal in London. I found it on yelp and we wanted to try something different. We love Thai food from home, but nothing compares to how amazing this food was! While waiting for my taxi from the airport, I had a brief chat with a local Londoner before her departure and she recommended me to try the calamari at Busaba during my trip. She informed me that there was no other calamari quite like it. She was right lol; the wait was a bit long for my food to arrive but it was worth it. The calamari was just the perfect texture of crispiness without it being too dry along with a burst of tender meat underneath the flavorful peppercorn lemon breading. No sauce was necessary. I also ordered a plate of chicken satay skewers which were also delicious though a bit on the plain side so I added some sriracha hot sauce to compliment the sweetness. I dined alone and the vibe was very pleasant and comforting though a bit loud. I love the bench styled seating which elevates the atmosphere and adds a memorable touch to the experience. The restroom also had very colorful artwork on the walls while being clean which reminded me of old school Asia. Overall, I had a pleasant time dining in and am looking forward to visiting Busaba when I'm in London again. read more

We visited Busaba on a Sunday afternoon. We liked how it wasn't too crowded and there was a lot of open room throughout the restaurant. Upon arrival, the hosts greeted us and gave us the option of sitting near the window or within the restaurant and we decided to sit near an open window on a rainy, but still busy, afternoon. The food portions are family style, perfect for a shareable two-person date, or even splitting a few dishes with your friends. The food itself- immaculate. The chicken satay to start was the perfect intro; spicy, savory, grilled to perfection and tender as can be. Followed by the black pepper beef with noodles, the beef is well-cooked, the noodles had a great chewy texture to them that paired perfectly with the sauce. A spicy treat! The Sweet and Sour Ma Muang was the star of the entire meal, taking us both by surprise with how tender the coated chicken was, the depth of the sauce it was cooked with, and the tenderness of the sweet potatoes in the dish. The chicken pad Thai was very tasty and the noodles weren't mush, an excellent choice along with the calamari as an appetizer. I suggest getting the Dudley Stone Chenin Blanc to pair with the meal. Service: upon arrival, we were told to sit down and then they formally told us that the kitchen was backed up and that the food would take about 45 minutes to come out. No problem! We ordered, then the food came out about 2 minutes later, which was awesome, but interesting considering the big talk we had with staff about the wait. The servers were all super nice. Drinks: the mojito and juices sounded great. I got a pineapple tea and it was delicious and came in a cute tea pot. A delightful experience for one. I did have to wait outside for a spot, but that is to be expected on a bank holiday. I went wanting spice and they surely delivered. The Tom Yam soup was good, a large portion, definitely had spice. But, it was missing something. Reminder to continuously stir it up to mix flavors as they do migrate to the bottom of the bowl. The Sen Chan was amazing. I needed Pad Thai to bring me out of my New Years Eve regrets, and the San Chan didn't disappoint. It was an elevated dish with great flavor. Being a Thai food aficionado, the Busaba Thai in Soho did not disappoint. As a matter of fact, we dined here two times during our stay in London. One has to queue in order to dine in this restaurant, but it was well worth the wait. The restaurant is relatively spacious with rows of communal tables and Buddha images everywhere as the main motif, we opted for the set dinner menu that comes with appetizer and main entrée. I started with a small plate of fish cakes with cucumber and peanut sauce relish while I selected Ginger beef stir fry with Thai pepper, chili, onion served over Jasmine rice for my main. it was delicious, well portioned and good paired with a cold bottle of Thai beer. the customer service is awesome they do their best to accommodate the clients as soon as possible. Overall great experience at Busaba Soho. They have amazing and accommodating servers which definitely upped our experience (10/10 service). We initially ordered the 'soyari' (the vegan version of their calamari), the drunken seafood noodles and soft shell crab fried rice - all of which we were very excited for. However, when we received the pad Thai, we found it bland and a bit lacking in depth. As we informed our server and requested a different dish, she was very accommodating and helpful. We ended up getting the seafood curry instead which was very flavourful and rich. (The server did mention after that the Pad Thai is more 'neutral' and light, so perhaps that explains our experience. ) Other than the pad Thai, the soymari was pretty good (which the portion was slightly larger for ~£7), the rice was very flavourful and curry was delicious. All in all, we spent around £41, for the appetizer, fried rice, seafood curry (new dish) and coconut rice. Wasn't expecting it to be so good. The calamari is a MUST. I've never had it made the way it was. It was so flavorful and tasted great! I had the Sen chan pad Thai which was pretty good. I love wok since it's pretty light. Portions were great. The only thing is I wish it was spicier. It had a double chili pepper sign (supposed to be spicy) and I added on extra chili but it still wasn't spicy... maybe that's just be though. My friend had the classic pad thai which was also good although he said he preferred mine. The classic beer was really good as well. And they DO have a student discount if you use your StudentBeans card which saved us some money as well. I ate at Busaba Soho with a large group of students (around 35) as a part of our tour around London. We had a very nice experience- and I especially appreciated how kind all of the servers were to my students. The servers were very attentive, and the chefs had our food ready to go very quickly. We all had the chicken pad thai, and I really enjoyed mine- for me, it had more veggies than are common in the U.S.- but I liked that personally. Our water and sodas were always filled, the restaurant itself was very lovely with great seating for a large group, and the service was good. If you're from the US looking for good Americanized Thai probably not the place. Their peanut sauce is more of a peanut salsa with onions, and peppers. I've had GREAT Thai food in LA, NYC and SF so I kinda think I know what I'm talking about...maybe out of my a$$ at time? It was odd to me that their Curry doesn't come with rice and I had to pay extra for it, but then again I'm a fat American used to ridiculous portions. I assume the curry base was made ahead of time and the meat was cooked separately and added in when ordered (understandable, but they need to curry up that chicken) The crab fried rice had no "wok air". If you don't know what that is, it's the flavor you get in most Asian food cooked in a wok. Food that is cooked with extreme heat and fast speed has "wok air" Their fried rice is something you can cook on your weak stove at home. Chicken Satay was odd, once again, chicken was flavorless, so the initial bite give you a great smoky flavor, but once that was gone it was like chewing on an eraser, the peanut sauce lacked peanuts which is a crime. read more

I had a dream that I was in a hot room, sitting on a bench and being served by a Eastern European waitress and my drink order taken from a Thai gentleman... Despite the restaurant having no cooling system except for a couple of fans in the ceiling which rotate ever so slowly, I enjoyed my time here. I ordered their homemade lemonade which was good and not too sugary but part of me feels like a few drops of bottled lemon was poured in there due to the slightly acidic and unnatural taste. Or maybe that's just the way they make it. After that, during meals, I quite enjoyed their Guava Bellini (Prosecco, guava, strawberry) and ended my night with a glass their 2014 Sauvignon Blanc Villa Montes which I quite liked taking into consideration my picky-ness with wine. For main, which I dived right into, I had their Duck Breast in Chinese Broccoli and Taramind Sauce which was like ... WOAH! Hold on, is this taste real?! I loved it! The tenderness of the duck breast accompanied by well cooked broccoli and a Taramind sauce I want to go hunting for. Now this, this is what I call good food! Hands down the best meal I had in all of London. The place was elegant, dimly lit, and the service was decent. But the food, the food was the best surprise of the evening. This place knows exactly how to merge spice with flavor. Every bite was to die for and had we not arrived just one hour prior to closing, I may have allowed myself to order one more entree', hell it was my last night in town! I really wanted to order the Tom Yum to see how it compared against our American offerings, but my friend suggested the Sen chan pad Thai. I was not disappointed. The prawns were very flavorful, the mango had a nice tanginess to it and the crab was wonderfully sweet and buttery. I tried my friends Pad see ew and I really really loved it. The dish had a nice smokiness thanks to the wok fried noodles, but I think it could have used a little more broccoli. The Mussaman duck curry was another show stopper. The flavors were rich and decadent, I almost wanted to pick up my friend's bowl and slurp down the curry sauce myself! I didn't, though, since I was trying to be on my best behavior. My favorite part of the evening was my Guava Bellini. The fizziness of the champagne combined with the tropical fruit made this quite the special drink. And being that we were already in Soho, we got to take an interesting stroll through the neighborhood after dinner. I love the Busaba Eathai restaurants. The flavours are great, the prices are great, the service is generally pretty good, they are more pleasant to sit in than other restaurants in this price range (like Wagamama, which also has vastly inferior food). I'd really recommend them as a reliable chain where you really get value for your money, although at the same time I wouldn't bother queuing more than 20 minutes to go here...there are other options. On this occasion, My coconut curry was delicious, as was the squid we ordered on the side. I've also had the mom kha chicken in the past and it's tasty too. read more

Apparently chinese food is not so hot in London, so Thai was the next best thing. There's open area window where you can sit and have your lunch/dinner while people watching. Entering the restaurant, you walk into a warm atmosphere with huge square tables and long seats on each side where you share tables with others. We walked in pretty late afternoon for lunch so were seated quickly. The service was nice and the food was great. We ordered the calamari, chili prawn fried rice and the pad kwetio. Every dish was just the right amount of spicy-ness and seasoning. Also if you want to order tap water, ask for "tap" or carafe of water - not just water or they'll bring you the nice bottle that will, of course, be charged to your bill. =P Other than that, our stomachs were satisfied overall and ready to start exploring the city! =) If I come back to London again, I'd definitely seek this place out. =D read more
