Chicken Pad Thai (hold the scallion)
Price K.

This place was my favorite find during my most recent trip to London. I had eaten here before but forgot to save it to review later, but here we go! First off, service here is great. Very welcoming and make sure you enjoy your visit. The food is tremendous. Comes out quickly, correctly and was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed the Chicken Pad Thai and the spring rolls. I absolutely recommend making Busaba a part of your dining experience when you find yourself in SOHO!

Restaurant interior, community seating.

We walked into this restaurant seeing the yelp reviews when exploring for vegan option retaurant around Soho. For drinks we ordered Gauva collins and koh phi phi which was refreshing. In main course we ordered Sriracha Ho Fun Noodles which was really dry, with hardly any veggies and the food presentation on the plate looked very sad, the other dish was green curry Jay with rice which was just okay. The food portion is okay just for one person if not very hungry. The restaurant ambience was good and the service good overall. As a tourist in this place would explore other food places than here.

Dinner tonight and we were seated fast. The seating is large square tables where you party is seated at a corner. Just a note on the service you need to ask For things by flagging down a server. For us they were attentive but was ask for the service we needed when we needed. I Had the hot ginger tea and my partner had a singha Tia beer. We first had a small place item 'Shared platter for two' which had a verity of finger foods. It was good but we wanted a little more food so we split the Crispy Duck Noodles. It was all very good.

Calamari

This was our last meal in London. I found it on yelp and we wanted to try something different. We love Thai food from home, but nothing compares to how amazing this food was! The calamari was different, never had it that way, and now that's the only way I want it. Chicken Pad Thai was perfect!!!! Was we were over the moon about was the Crispy Duck Noodles! YOU HAVE to try the crispy duck noodles! Also, the restaurant is very clean and beautiful, and finding nice restaurants in London with nice bathrooms isn't always easy!

Chicken satay skewers, calamari

While waiting for my taxi from the airport, I had a brief chat with a local Londoner before her departure and she recommended me to try the calamari at Busaba during my trip. She informed me that there was no other calamari quite like it. She was right lol; the wait was a bit long for my food to arrive but it was worth it. The calamari was just the perfect texture of crispiness without it being too dry along with a burst of tender meat underneath the flavorful peppercorn lemon breading. No sauce was necessary. I also ordered a plate of chicken satay skewers which were also delicious though a bit on the plain side so I added some sriracha hot sauce to compliment the sweetness. I dined alone and the vibe was very pleasant and comforting though a bit loud. I love the bench styled seating which elevates the atmosphere and adds a memorable touch to the experience. The restroom also had very colorful artwork on the walls while being clean which reminded me of old school Asia. Overall, I had a pleasant time dining in and am looking forward to visiting Busaba when I'm in London again.

Day Visited: Sunday early PM Price Range: 8-15£ Parking: Street parking, walkable from Chinatown Ordered: Black Pepper Beef, Sweet & Sour Ma Muang, Chicken Satay, Jasmine White Rice, Bangkok Mojito, & Mango Lassi First timers in London & the Asian food has been top notch so far. We visited Busaba on a Sunday afternoon. We liked how it wasn't too crowded and there was a lot of open room throughout the restaurant. Upon arrival, the hosts greeted us and gave us the option of sitting near the window or within the restaurant and we decided to sit near an open window on a rainy, but still busy, afternoon. The food portions are family style, perfect for a shareable two-person date, or even splitting a few dishes with your friends. The food itself- immaculate. The chicken satay to start was the perfect intro; spicy, savory, grilled to perfection and tender as can be. Followed by the black pepper beef with noodles, the beef is well-cooked, the noodles had a great chewy texture to them that paired perfectly with the sauce. A spicy treat! The Sweet and Sour Ma Muang was the star of the entire meal, taking us both by surprise with how tender the coated chicken was, the depth of the sauce it was cooked with, and the tenderness of the sweet potatoes in the dish. A balance of flavor, texture, and technique which made this meal nothing short of phenomenal!

Service 5/5 Friendly and attentive waiter and staff! Ambiance 4/5 Cool and hip interior design. Seating arrangement is interesting. There are large tables in the middle of the restaurant and each party is seated at a corner of the table. The tables were large enough where it didn't feel like you were invading each others privacy, but the seats were a little but uncomfortable and it was a bit difficult getting in and out. Food 3/5 An extensive menu with lunch/dinner deals. Food was well presented and portion sizes were appropriate. However, we felt that some of the dishes lacked flavour. Overall 3.5/5 A good place to go to if you're looking to have a casual night out with friends. You'll have a good meal, but it won't be particularly memorable.

chicken pad Thai, calamari, and Chenin Blanc
Raymond S.

The chicken pad Thai was very tasty and the noodles weren't mush, an excellent choice along with the calamari as an appetizer. I suggest getting the Dudley Stone Chenin Blanc to pair with the meal. The ambiance was semi dark cozy with great polite service! I will return to order other dishes.

Pad Thai was very delicious!

Ambiance and location is very desirable if you are visiting SoHo area. Loved the Pad thai( not dense or over cooked at all)

Atmosphere: beautiful, zen, uber feng shiu and modern. Everything is sleek and wooden, with community benches at each table. Service: upon arrival, we were told to sit down and then they formally told us that the kitchen was backed up and that the food would take about 45 minutes to come out. No problem! We ordered, then the food came out about 2 minutes later, which was awesome, but interesting considering the big talk we had with staff about the wait. The servers were all super nice. Drinks: the mojito and juices sounded great. I got a pineapple tea and it was delicious and came in a cute tea pot. Food: the chicken pad Thai was good but super bland.. we didn't get spicy sauce added to it, but usually there's at least a slight taste in the sauce or a bit of a peanut flavor or something...

We ordered a yellow curry and a green curry. There was zero heat in the green curry and the yellow curry tasted off to that diner. We didn't finish even half our food. My husband thought our server was "high as a kite" but I think she was just dazed and not into working. Not sure. Prices were a bit high as well, and I wouldn't recommend this place.

Food was decent. The Tom Yam Gaang soup was not salty enough and quite spicy. Songkhla Beef curry flavorful but overwhelmed any other flavors. Service very brusque even though they add 12.5% gratuity automatically. When asked for the bill, the server replied "yah it's coming!" Atmosphere very loud and too informal. It wasn't cheap, either, but it's central London so what are you gonna do?

Tom Yam Goong
Rachel B.

A delightful experience for one. I did have to wait outside for a spot, but that is to be expected on a bank holiday. I went wanting spice and they surely delivered. The Tom Yam soup was good, a large portion, definitely had spice. But, it was missing something. Reminder to continuously stir it up to mix flavors as they do migrate to the bottom of the bowl. The Sen Chan was amazing. I needed Pad Thai to bring me out of my New Years Eve regrets, and the San Chan didn't disappoint. It was an elevated dish with great flavor. Unfortunately both the soup and the noodles came out a bit cold - room temperature. The downside here is the service. They're extremely busy, but I was only checked on to order and bring my food. Never brought water (which was asked for). I had to wait over 15 minutes for my check, which I had to ask for. Overall, the flavors are here, and recommended. But, if you want convenience, stick to ordering it for takeaway.

I really wanted to order the Tom Yum to see how it compared against our American offerings, but my friend suggested the Sen chan pad Thai.

The staff is super friendly, always greeting you with a smile, and they're overall very nice. I've been there a many times already so they know my usual order. They have a good selection of beers, cocktails and wine but as a no drinker, I always get the two point lemonade which is delish!! The food is super tasty, and a reasonable price.
