I stopped in for the first time on a Friday, around 9am. Even during a week day at a later morning hour - there were very few places to sit, as it was quite busy. I like that the menu is fairly simple, and they have a few pastry items available along with their coffee. Having just spent a few weeks in Italy, I chose to just order a single espresso and stand at one of the high top tables. The espresso was bitter for my liking, but still a nice selection. The WiFi was incredibly fast for a public spot, and you will find the password at the register. read more

I love this local coffee shop. Good atmosphere and the coffee tastes great. The only issue is that their expresso drinks, the latte specifically, are too cold. I even asked for them to prime the cup first, so it will be warm enough, but it's still hardly warm. It's room temperature before I'm even 1/3 of the way through. read more

Really good coffee. Really bad service. Both girls give you the look of disgust. You can feel the hatred they feel for their customers permeate every cell of your being. Two stars for the coffee. Service deserves zero stars. I felt bad for walking in there! They also don't open very early. I passed this place daily when leaving a hotel, and every day wished it were open. My last day in town, I went in the afternoon, because I'd been seeing it every day and was very curious as to whether they served decent coffee. Now I know. And I just know they don't want me to go back. If you're reading this - they do no want your business. Their sign may mention coffee, but it must be a tax shelter. Suddenly the absolute worst customer service. Abysmal. Popped in to get the regular drink we've ordered for years--espresso over ice in a plastic cup--and were told by the aggressive cashier we could no longer order that drink. Dispute followed. They're now evidently terrified customers will add a splash too much cream to the overpriced product. For our part, we're sparing with dairy. Upshot: Long-term customer's order denied. She cried as we exited and went to a competitor where she got exactly the drink she wanted with a smile, no opposition. Coffee's better there anyway. We will happily never return to Monk & Mongoose after this terrible experience, will take our business elsewhere. You should too. read more

What a great space, cool vibe and the coffee is decent. The downer is customer service. The young man who got my order on my visit want cold, distant and not engaging. A REALLY trendy place. It's simple and dynamic on the inside, and in a relatively more quiet area than your standard plaza coffee shop. The menu is as simple as the interior (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). If you're looking to add any flavor to a latte, you'll have few, very standard options. It's easy to work here. They have plenty of WELL LIT space for work or play (by play, I mean hanging out, or i guess board games too?) They have a room that can be reserved, if you value the quiet or your space (or maybe you just want to feel exclusive?). I am NOT sure if you have to pay to rent a room, but you can find out from the barista! Parking is generally along the street, BUT there are a few reserved spots in the parking lot behind Monk and Mongoose for customers. As an outro, I'll address the Mongoose Mule that they have. I have not yet had it. I believe it's a cold brew cocktail, although I'm not sure what that contains, but I am intrigued. read more

Um...delish! Happy to have this coffee shop in Lonetree, located near Sky Ridge Hospital. There aren't many around this area but this certainly makes up for it. It's clean, hip, and offers a great place to work while sipping on a delicious coffee. There is inside and outdoor seating. Service is friendly. Probably my favorite coffee shop as of now, the coffee is great tasting and the location is beautiful. The interior is amazing with plenty of leisure seating and studying spaces available. I Yelped for a unique coffeehouse to hang out for a bit and I am a new fan of Monk & Mongoose! Although contemporary in design, don't let that fool you as this is a very warm and inviting spot! Comfy couches by the fireplace and a bar with power cords if you want to be plugged in :-) My caramel latte was PERFECT! Not too sweet , just beautiful and tasty! Hats off to the barista!! The soft rock acoustic music playing overhead is exactly what I imagine playing in a coffeehouse and quite enjoyable! Big fan! Will be back soon :-) read more

Had a really delicious Guatemalan pour-over here. Paired with a fresh croissant, it was the perfect morning meal. The baristas were friendly and courteous and even amongst patrons the vibe was nice. Good places to sit indoor and outdoor. Choose from comfy chairs to barstool seating. They also sell beans and have a nice tea menu. Would definitely return. read more

Another of the minimalist, industrial-style coffee bars Denver seems to excel at, but with coffee that's above top-notch. My latte was extraordinarily smooth and delicious, standing out even among all the other fancy coffee shops I've visited in Denver. Fairly large space with wooden chairs and small tables, metal accents, high ceilings, and hanging lights. Their menu is limited to the basics (espresso, latte, cortado etc) plus 3-4 rotating hand brews - I was intrigued by the orange blossom melon one but will wait until next time. They feature exclusively Sweet Bloom coffee aka the fancy stuff. Cafe has a gorgeous view of skies and flat land, and two sides of it are mostly made up of windows - I especially love the bar style seating facing the road that has the best view. Peaceful, spacious, good coffee, and in a ritzy but non-busy area so parking's not hard to find (street parking). Absolutely will go back to this spot, it has a strong, unique charm. read more

Great, Great coffee. I usually come in there for their lattes. There's one I normally get that's so good w non dairy milk options they have there, hot. I order one...it comes out on ice. I get told oh that normally comes hot. Yeah it curdles the milk. 1) Good to know now, I've only had about 8-9 over the last coup km e of months. 2) If someone orders a HOT latte, why would you serve them a cold one. Why wouldn't you alert them oh we don't like to serve that hot it's been curdling the milk.....Most ppl order hot coffee drinks because they like hot drinks, not cold. This will not stop me from coming there at all because they have great coffee. I do have a suggestion, excuse me but the drink you ordered we don't make it hot anymore it curdles the milk, are there any other hot options I can spark your appetite for instead. Customer service , that's all, it's becoming an American past time. read more

We were very excited for an independent, gourmet coffee shop to open in Lone Tree, since we have so few non-Starbucks options. Unfortunately, they haven't quite hit their stride, but we're hoping they'll improve. The positives are the location and the design of the interior. It's a well designed place, with cool "garage" doors that could be opened in nicer weather. We also liked that they had real coffee cups for staying in. They have cool seating, including comfy chairs and a "fire." The coffee is pricey - my latte was $5.75 after adding caramel and an extra shot (the extra shot is necessary - the coffee is too weak and milky otherwise). It tasted just ok. Too milky, with the milk overdone, and a bit of an over roasted/acidic taste to the beans. The pastries were also just ok - a bit dry and not very flavorful. For now, they have a limited pastry case. The baristas are ok as well - a bit awkward and uncertain, and we wondered if they didn't really know what they were doing. Our daughters' hot chocolate wasn't mixed well, although they use chocolate flakes instead of powder. I'm sure we'll give it another try, but sad to say that Starbucks gives better taste for a better price. And Fika in Parker is a better independent coffee shop. We're hoping it'll keep improving! read more

5 minutes from home and a couple minutes from I-25. Can't beat that! A clean, relaxing place! The coffee is smooth and the lattes are perfect. They don't have the giant menu that Starbucks has but that's why it's so wonderful. Your order is not part of an assembly line but is handcrafted with care. My fave coffee shop in the Parker Lone Tree area. The coffee is amazing and the pastries are really yummy as well. It's very spacious inside and lots of natural light. When the weather is nice they open up garage doors on the side. Many of the food items were gone by late morning on Saturday, and I wasn't crazy about the item I did order, but I'd go back and try again- it was cute inside, and the staff was nice. read more

Overall this is a great place to go have a cup of Coffee! The staff are very nice and the coffee is amazing! My favorite is the brown sugar and cinnamon latte. They also have a garage door on one side of the building so when the weather is nice they open it and you get to feel like your outside while sitting indoors. Consider this a heads up...I prefer to support the locally run establishments over Starbucks. This particular coffee shop has a convenient location, which brings in many at-home workers from nearby apartments and condos. When the weather is nice, patrons spill out onto outdoor high tops, picnic tables and smaller bistro seating...Suffice to say, it has its fan club...However, if you're a Matcha tea drinker, take note...They offer a Matcha latte, but if you prefer just Matcha tea? Well, they can make it, but "there isn't a button to ring it up differently"...The first time I was told this, I started to question the Cashier, but there was a line behind me and she became flustered, so I just accepted the lame explanation and moved on...Yesterday, however, I pushed harder--knowing, full well, that other coffee shops do NOT charge me for a latte, when it only uses hot water...This Cashier said she could possibly find a way to ring it up with a discount--and, she did--9 cents less (Yes, you read that right...a whole 9 cents)...So, I reiterated back..."You'll make me a Matcha tea w/ hot water, instead of milk, and discount the drink by 9 cents?" "Yes"...Forget it, just make the latte...Now, before you pass judgment and think I'm cheap, I still tipped the staff 20% for this ridiculous policy, but it is the last time they'll get any of my money read more
