I remember going to Monical's with my family when I was a kid. I loved their 1000 island dressing and the kid-friendly placemats (with puzzles and games on them). Now that I'm an adult, I try to get the family together and head to Monical's Pizza on Knoxville whenever I am visiting back home. Their thin crust pizza is delicious! We usually opt for the family pleaser which comes with a family-sized salad, 16 in pizza, and a pitcher of pop all for just around $20. Well, this would have been a 5 star if they didn't cut out one pizza DIAGONALLY! It was all really good though, just kind of made me dizzy to look at the diagonal lines. Salads were very good. The pizza was absolutely amazing! I ate it with my two best friends and we loved it! I was really happy to hear that they had gluten-free options so that me and my friends could all eat at the same pizza restaurant because some of us have celiac disease. Good pizza! Get a coupon code on Facebook and order online. I ordered pizza online on a Saturday night. The pizza was ready for pickup in 30 minutes. They give you a 10 minute window of time for the appropriate pick up time. It was an easy process. Walk-in and they had me sign for the receipt. Picked up the order within in a couple minutes inside the lobby. We ordered 2 large 16" pepperoni pizzas with light cheese. We also got 4 sides of marinara sauce for dipping. Pizza was hot and great! I went after a family event and had the worst experience of my life my aunt was told "your amazing people, just kidding " and we were cursed out and they threatened to call the police. This happened at the location of 4408 noxville they said that we had been there 3times when it was our first time being there never will I go back ever again!!!!! read more

I came into town to visit family , so we called ahead about a party of 18 and they said sure come on in. We get there and three employees had no knowledge about the party and blamed he manager for accepting it as we were being seated an employee was sitting in the back eating and on her phone, and when we were being seated, the server told her that we were the party of 18 and she said god damn it. And got up and was never seen again . One of our party members tried to order wings and she told her "you don't want them they're nasty . Then another person tried to order ranch and was ignored twice and she finally brought some out and we said thank you and just she walked away sighing . Upon excited nobody thanked us instead gave dirty looks. By the way there was maybe two more tables n the whole restaurant and about 7 employees. The pizza was great but there service was terrible. We love coming to Monical's on Knoxville. Service is usually good and the individual pleaser pizzas are very good. Our last visit-last week- was very disappointing. I think they were understaffed in the dining room, which will probably be a problem for many restaurants for a while. Even so, our waitress took our order fairly quickly and brought our salads out in a timely manner. The pizzas took way too long to be served and they were both burned on the edges and the bottom. We went to this monicals for dinner, we were the only table in the whole restaurant. We did not receive breadsticks, or refills while we waited for our pizza. When we got our orders one pizza was wrong, and two other items weren't made. The server walked away when we were trying to get a new pizza to replace the old one. Again we were the ONLY table at the restaurant. When i went to the front and asked about the pizza, because the server walked away while i was talking to her, the staff member was extremely rude and ignored me as I was trying to figure out what the issue was. We waited for 20 more minutes for the food that wasn't made and the incorrect pizza. When we went to the desk a third time the "manager" as well as other staff members in the kitchen were extremely rude. After waiting for another 10 or 15 minutes with our food not brought out two of the people at our table left and were told "you're nice people, just kidding" when I asked who had said that to my sister the "manager" freaked out and started saying that all we wanted was free food. We were leaving before she even brought the food out. They continued to cuss, and point while yelling. They then said we had 30 seconds to leave before they called the police. I will NEVER go to this location again and will be calling Monicals corporate office so they know the kind of staff they have running their restaurant. read more

I have been eating at Monical's on Knoxville since my high school years (74-78). It was always our go to pizza for our family after Pizza Delight on Abington left Peoria. I don't eat in as much, but I do order delivery a fair amount. I'm a creature of habit and always enjoy the large, thin crust, extra cheese pizza and an individual salad. Obviously it is better to get the pizza in house for the freshest taste, but the pizza always arrives hot, just a little chewy. I also order the French dressing by the bottle to use throughout the month. I love the tangy taste! I agree the price of a pizza is high, but it is worth the price to me! Pizza is ok (the Pan). Disappointed with the calzone. Ordered it, and it was actually a stromboli. Difference? Calzone has Ricotta cheese. They did not have that. Getting kind of pricey but still worth going to. My individual pleaser come with a bowl of salad and a drink and i always get an order of breadsticks.....who can pass those up. I asked for sausage and banana peppers and wanted it cooked extra crispy. Everything was cooked perfectly and i enjoyed my lunch. The new remodel is nice with the large pictures on the wall. I think Monical's is a Central IL thing, bc there was one where I went to college and everyone from Chicago seemed to hate it. I think it is awesome and it's pretty popular . The pizza is super thin and crispy and cut into little squares. The salad is equally awesome with cheese and tomatoes and ranch, french and creamy italian dressings. The first time I went to Monical's was last spring for a work meeting and I have to say I was pleased. All those commercials about how their salad dressing is great to dip the pizza into were right on target. It really is yummy. The actual salad with their signature dressing is good too. Horrible service. All we ordered was a large sausage pizza, and our ticket said this. We were given a burnt pepperoni and pineapple pizza after driving there on snowy roads. Called and complained and spoke to a manager. They didn't even offer to deliver a new pizza because we were just a couple of miles out of the delivery zone. We were finally given a full refund. Was in the area on business so I decided to go to Yelp for suggestions. I saw good reviews for this place and decided to give it a try. This pizza was edible but did not have much flavor. I did notice it had very little to no sauce and the flavor I did taste was from the sprinkel of herbs on top. I have had many pizzas and I would have to say the St. Louis style Imo's is one of the best followed by Mellow Mushroom in Atlanta, GA. Another great one I found in Florida was NY style PizzaVito.
