I already spent…read morecountless hours trying to figure out how to design something that would look good and meet everything I was trying to do, but was just stuck. Rachel responded quickly. We spend the first part of the consultation going through examples of plants I like, gardens I like, and what I was looking for. Basically, I wanted to combine a veggie garden, some row plantings for fruit, space for sprawling veggies, and ornamentals that required little maintenance yet look good year-round. Of course, it all needed to look good. While sitting at my home, Rachel was able to find plants and come up with a design that met all my requirements and that I liked. In addition, she bent over backwards trying to help me find the plants wholesale so that I could implement our design at a better price. We are currently at the 1/2 way point of installing the design and we have spoken with more neighbors in the past 2 weeks than the past 1.5 years since we moved in due to everyone stopping by to complement the yard, and we aren't done yet! She was professional, upbeat, positive, and a pleasure to work with. I would recommend her to anyone.

From the beginning, Alex (the owner) impressed us with his thoughtful planning, clear communication, and confident approach to a destroyed yard: a post-construction disaster zone wherein our entire quarter-acre plot of land was turned into a pit of uneven, impacted mud. Our project involved building a retaining wall, grading, improving drainage, and hauling away a large dump truck of poor quality fill dirt. It was a tough job, but they handled it with incredible professionalism and skill from start to finish. Not only did they tackle the hard work with skill and efficiency, but they also went above and beyond to make sure everything was done right--down to the last detail, suggesting water timers and tripod sprinklers that worked well. Their team was professional, and respectful. The dumpster company he hired accidentally knocked over my mailbox. I texted him about it the evening I noticed it; it was replaced by the next morning. Also, Alex genuinely seemed to care about the outcome, calling and later stopping by after a week to check the progress. The end result was even better than we imagined. What was once a sad and frustrating yard is now beautiful, usable, and a joy to spend time in again. We're incredibly grateful for their hard work and would recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking for quality landscaping--especially for projects that are a challenge or too difficult for others. I realized I needed help after several hours in the hot sun. After getting bids from three other gardening providers on Yelp, I ended up choosing Joseph. And am I glad I did! He came out and after walking through my overgrown pollinator garden, he gave me a quote which was pretty much consistent with the others. Big difference? He communicates well, he is ethical, he shows up on time, works hard, cleans up afterward. He is also a nice man who cares about the quality of what he does. Joseph is knowledgeable about many plants and trees. To his credit, when he encountered one he wasn't familiar with, he set about educating himself so he would do things right. He pruned my Mock Orange, Oregon Grapes, my Japanese Maple, a wildly out of control espaliered Apple tree, thinned out some fading seasonals, and pulled up a dying azalea I'd tried, but failed, to bring back. Then pulled out the overgrown weeds from my curb and sidewalk to make it all look more tidy. I'll be calling Joseph again, absolutely. You should, too. My before photos aren't uploading after three tries. Hmmmm. Trust me though, things were out of control.

Monaghan's Landscaping did an outstanding job for me, and I am really thrilled with the outcome! They have a competent and professional crew who really knows what they are doing. I hired Monaghan's to build a robust retaining wall, 80 feet long, on a steep hill directly behind my house. The area was covered with ivy and very nasty blackberry bushes with lots of thorns. The team removed all the ivy and blackberries in two days. They then dug a huge, level base into the hill to support the new wall which was built with very strong and durable concrete blocks. The retaining wall is beautiful and even better than I imagined. They also backfilled behind the new wall to create a level planting area with soft and rich dirt. I went from having no usable back yard to having an instant back yard with lots of room for plants and raised beds. They also constructed a walkway with bricks and gravel that will make it easy for me to tend to my garden without getting muddy. This was a very big project, and I am really pleased with the work. Their fee was very reasonable, especially considering how much work and materials were involved. Additionally, the communication with Jamie and Colette has been great and straight forward throughout the process. I highly recommend Monaghan's Landscaping. read more

We had a great experience with Monaghan's Landscaping for our side yard landscaping project involving installing pavers, building steps, and raised beds over a slope. They were extremely professional and delivered excellent work which exceeded our expectations. We were very pleased with the professionalism of the entire Monaghan's team in all phases of our project from bid through completion, including cleanup. Our project involved removing a number of excess plants and old hardscaping (walkways, retaining wall and flagstone patio) in our backyard. They created a new walkway behind our garage with the old pavers and installed new concrete pavers to replace the patio and main walkways. The result is a beautiful outdoor space that's much easier and safer to move around in. The team was skilled and knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. (For example, we saw an opportunity to improve the design of the retaining wall as it was getting started and they implemented it the same day.) The project was expected to require four days, but it was done in three with no shortcuts. In summary, we're very happy with our new backyard and we would recommend Monaghan's to anyone considering a similar project. Keep in mind that good contractors like the Monaghans are very busy due to high demand. Be prepared for the likelihood that a project of significant scope may take some time to schedule. Monaghan's is a great company to work with. My husband and I wanted to re-do our entire yard, we have a quarter acre lot and could not agree on what to do. Jamie came up with a plan that included both of our idea's and some great options for the spaces we have. When we were put on their schedule we were kept up to date on when they would be there and what to expect. The first day they started Jamie came out, walked the area with us and the crew and went over everything that was going to happen very thoroughly. Their crew was fantastic, respectful, and hard working, kept us informed of what they were doing and when. Several times we had questions and both Jamie & Colette were quick to get back to us with the information we needed. I loved that I could reach them so easily. We did have a couple of plants that didn't make it, when I called, Colette was super responsive and they were replaced immediately. To me shows the type of integrity Monaghan's has. I had my old lawn tore out and new sod and sprinkler system installed. Jaime showed up on time for initial walk through, and I had a bid the next day. Colette was quick to respond to all my questions, and we were able to come to terms quickly to fit my budget. The job started a few weeks later. The crew showed up on time ready to go and Jaime, the crew foreman and myself did another walk through to make sure we were all on the same page. The crew was awesome and completed the job in the 5 days they quoted. I was happily surprised by the attention to details. I was only expecting new sod and sprinkler system, but they went the extra mile and mulched all my flower beds and restored a pathway so everything in my yard looked finished. Jaime did another final walk through after the job was complete to make sure I was happy and to show me how to program the sprinklers. Have had a great experience working with Jamie, Colette and the whole crew of Monaghan's from day one. They've been very easy to communicate with, very responsive and friendly- Colette calls/texts back within the day every time. Our backyard was all brick pavers- we had them all removed and replaced with sod. Estimate was comparable to others we received. Because we had a preexisting sprinkler setup, Jamie also revamped/repaired/set up/taught us how to set timers for the sprinklers as well, which was a huge help. Work was great,done super fast. Maybe the best part of working with them is that they didn't just disappear once the check was cashed. There were some minor issues with bare spots between seams and the sprinklers leaking, and they came back repeatedly to ensure that things were going well. I was very pleased with the landscaping project I had Monaghan's complete for me. For several years I had tried to grow grass in my backyard using seed and it never completely grew in all areas. So I decided to try a sod that would grow in a mostly shaded yard that was recommended by Jamie (Jamie & Colette are owners of business). Colette was able to schedule me in within a few weeks of my estimate and the team showed up early and began to work right away. The team led by Dave worked efficiently and professionally and upon completion the sod looked beautiful. Within two days I had a problem with a small area of the sod so contacted Colette who showed concern and arranged to have areas taken care of. They communicated along the way in an upfront and direct manner. They showed up when they said they would and Jamie reviewed the project with the crew. There was a non standard issue with our drainage, and they met with us a couple of times to make sure to get it right. I highly recommend Monaghan's Landscaping for any work you need done. Jamie and Colette are wonderful! I initially called Jamie to completely landscape a small backyard for a new home. He came out and listened to what I was looking for and then gave suggestions. We ended up having a retaining wall, patio, lawn and plants and shrubs put in. He completely transformed a space of dirt and bark into a beautiful backyard, making the most out of a fairly small space. It was such a good experience and the work was of great quality that when I moved into another home, I immediately called Jamie to come and add 2 ft. of height to a very long retaining wall. We wanted to add a small (150sq ft) paver patio at the bottom of the stairs to our deck. I requested quotes for the project from a number of contractors in August. Monaghan's was one of the few that responded and their quote was very competitive. Jamie came by to look at the job and we worked with Colette to choose the materials. There were a lot of jobs ahead of us in the queue, but we were finally given a start date. The materials were delivered, the crew showed up as promised and finished the job in two days. Colette was super helpful for scheduling, and we were able to pay for our whole project (digging up grass, laying landscaping fabric/rocks/gravel, planting and trimming trees, and rebuilding a fire pit) with credit card, which was great. If you are looking at pavers for your home, look no further. This was a great experience from the first phone call to installation to clean up. Monaghan's replaced my crumbling driveway, walkway, and front porch with beautiful timeless pavers. Definitely an improvement to curb appeal. They offer a huge paver selection including, color, size, shape and pattern layouts. Installation was smooth and without disruption. Last spring, after several quotes and interviewing several companies, we chose to have Monaghan's Landscaping install our irrigation lines for watering our lawn and garden, from the street to the backyard. My backyard was a wet, dangerous slope full of blackberry vines. The front path was a disintegrating mess of gravel and weeds. Monaghan's provided a detailed proposal to address the problem areas and also offered ideas to improve other parts of my yard. When the crew arrived they made quick work of the project. Jamie and his crew are great. My back yard was a muddy, scrubby weed patch. They cleared it out, leveled it, put in a slab for my new hot tub, and installed an awesome paver patio complete with stone benches and a big fire pit. It turned out way nicer than I was ever hoping for. What was essentially wasted space is now a great backyard hangout area. I'm still cleaning up from this nightmare last year. Unbelievable

The project manager and crew worked hard, did excellent work, and were communicative whenever I had questions or specific requests. We think that this wall will last a long time, and we've already received quite a few compliments from people in the neighborhood. The one area of improvement I would suggest: there were a couple times between when they first scoped out the project until it actually started (about a month) when there were delays in communication and I wasn't sure what was happening, if my email was received, etc. It wasn't a huge deal and they made up for it in spades, but just something to note.

There was a concrete patio below the existing deck and we wanted to match that, w/ reinforcement for a hot tub. We got a couple bids for the job. Danny was the estimator that came out for Forest and he seemed knowledgeable and was punctual and professional. It was not the cheapest bid ($6600 for a 13'X16' 4" concrete patio w/ hot tub reinforcement), but the company is much more well established than a couple others we consulted so I put more trust in their work. Rigo is the guy we needed to work with on scheduling etc. for concrete work. This was a little rocky at first, but that had a lot to do with us needing to postpone the start till our deck was done, but then also work around a vacation we'd be taking, and make sure the concrete had enough time to cure before our hot tub is dropped. Despite a slight language barrier, we worked it out and even managed to get it done ahead of when we originally scheduled it. Punctuality is impressive with these guys. For 3 days they were waiting outside our house to start at 7:30am precisely. They had to remove a portion of fence and work around some foliage for access. They ended up encountering an unexpected drainage tube of some kind while digging and made sure to create an access point for us if it's ever needed in the future. The concrete looks great and matches our old patio so well, it's hard to tell they weren't poured together. Danny and I (and later Rigo) discussed treating the old concrete to help the matching. At the end of the work they did a great job of cleaning up the area and returning everything to normal. Rigo also helped us by showing us how to remove the fence portion for when our hot tub is delivered and left the top cap off because he said we'd really struggle to get it off if they put it back. I'm happy with the work, communication, and cleanup and trust if there are any problems I will be able to get them resolved. If we have further landscape needs in the future I will def be calling Forest for a bid.

We are currently working on a greenhouse project in our backyard and needed gas, electric, and…read morewater installed. It required multiple subcontractors to complete the job, but Forest Landscape made sure everything went smoothly and that the project was kept on track. The guys who came to do the excavation for the trench did an amazing job and we were so impressed and grateful that they even worked through all the rain and cold weather. It was so muddy yet they still managed to get the job done. When it was time for inspections, they were all approved which is definitely a positive thing. It reassured us that we made the right decision to go with this company. Not only are they professional, but at the end of each day, they took the time to clean up and make sure they didn't leave a huge mess. We highly recommend them for any landscaping needs and will be reaching out to them for future projects.

Artistic Landscapes was fantastic to work with. When Robert came out to provide the bid, he explained everything in detail, and we were kept informed throughout the process. They even started the job early. Jeve and his crew did a fantastic job removing the old wall and fencing, building the new block retaining wall, and setting new fence posts. The original retaining wall ran right up to the property line with the fence attached to it. We wanted the new fence to follow the property line, so the new wall was set slightly back from the property line with enough room that we can easily take care of any weeds that may grow between the fence and wall. Bonafacio and his crew built a beautiful new fence and gate. He also installed our gate so it would open wider than the old one. Both crews kept the work site extremely clean and they were very work-from-home friendly with the only noise heard was them working. Robert came after the job was done to do a final inspection of both the work and job site cleanup. He also gave us information on how to care for the new fence and retaining wall. I would not hesitate to use Artistic Landscapes again.
