My mom and step dad love this place. T and I enjoyed it. The tiramisu was really amazing, and it was free, so that is always a plus. I am disappointed in the website, you definitely get a better idea of what the restaurant has to offer by visiting Yelp. Our server was great. Overall happy with the visit, we made a special trip from St Paul for dinner...probably the opposite of what most people do. We visited on a Tuesday near 6pm, so many open tables, when you left at 9, full house read more

Yikes!! Martini ( bill called it standard beefeater) and was $11.75. High, but I accepted that. BUT they added $5.00 for 2 Gorgonzola olives!!! They weren't even that large. Could probably buy a bottle for $5.00. Great meal, think twice about drinks read more

Walked in and immediately was greeted by a less than friendly woman. Long story short we didn't eat there that day.

The best restaurant in Eau Claire, hands down! It would even rival some exquisite Italian places in downtown Chicago, such as my favorite Prosecco. Brick walls, local art, friendly staff, HUGE wine list, and amazing food makes for a romantic date for two, or a fun girls night out. It's definitely the place to be in Eau Claire as we have never gone and not seen half of the town there. Highly recommend the thin crust pizzas which are great for an appetizer. My fiance can't get over the basic staple - Chicken Alfredo - he swears he's never had better. I usually do a make your own pasta with seasonal veggies, rigatoni, and red sauce. Absolutely delicious! The owner is so sweet! You have to go to her yearly wine sale right before Thanksgiving - she sells at prices that are less than whole sale and hard to find vineyards. read more

Great service. Amazing food. The staff seem happy. Dress up or down-the ambiance is...eclectic. I love this place.

Eau Claire is not known for its vegetarian fare but Mona Lisa is a veggie gem in the land of meat lovers. We had the Ratatouille and spinach pasta with artichokes. Portions are huge. Loved the ambiance and easy parking and location. Next visit will be back. read more

Mona Lisa's - Mushroom Ravioli.... this is soooo good. My server recommended it to me and it literally blowed my mind at first bite. - Italian Near Me - Eau Claire, Wisconsin

The restaurant that my wife & I love the most in Eau Claire. It would be a great place for a romantic date. A cool, upscale restaurant with some great dishes. We like some dishes that are more nouvelle cuisine than Italian. Good wine; a very relaxing place. I'll add to this review the next time we go back. read more

I hate writing this review as this is a favorite place of mine, but I was terribly disappointed with my experience there last night. While we were there, there were only 2 other tables occupied & 3 servers on. Our server was great to start, but when we got our soup, it was at best, room temperature. Our server did not come to check on us for 20+ min. When she did, she did take our soup back & came back with a barely steaming soup. 2 bites into that, our dinner came. One plate the noodles were ice cold & the other was room temp. Server did take plates back & warmed them up. They obviously weren't busy but the server did not apologize for what happened nor did they do anything for us (not that I was looking for that, but since we didn't get an apology, I thought at the least, our dessert would get taken off our bill). Manager went to every table asking how things were, but neglected to come to ours. I'm extremely disappointed & not sure I will come back. read more

No secret to the folks of Eau Claire apparently, as the menu boasts of 16 years of good food in the same location. (And there's a cool timeline in the back of the wine list tracing the building's history back to the 19th Century!) A truly nice experience. The shrimp with sambuca sauce was killer, although one best like fennel. The sherried mushrooms for appetizer was pretty good. Saw another yelper's recommendation of a mojito and went for it, was glad I did. Minty and sweet without overpowering. (As always, Original is the best choice on drinks.) Service was prompt and efficient. Decor is faux-antique with exposed brick and lots of wood. Didn't check it out, but the bar side looks like a good place to hang out and have a nosh. Prices are more in the Big City range, but then again this is Big City quality at the same time. read more

This is a fabulous trendy restaurant in EauClaire, Wi. The best food I have had in a long time! Had the bourbon scallops! To die for! Wait staff was great, the wine good, and the only reason I didn't give them a five star rating is because we had a 40 min. wait to get a table, when people who came in after us got in before us! They did not have a reservation either! Best bet, call ahead! Great ambience! read more

Mona Lisa's - Great interior design. Very comfortable. - Italian Near Me - Eau Claire, Wisconsin

We have been going to Mona's since they opened and have always been very happy with the atmosphere, drinks, food and the service has always been great. Sadly we will not be returning. The 18% add on is the owners way of stealing from the servers and bartenders. She takes the tip and splits it up amongst all staff so she can brag that she is paying her staff 20.00 per hour. We asked our server if we left more for her wonderful service would she get it and she said no. The owner will take that also and split it up with everyone. We ended up slipping her some cash. It is not the servers job to pay the rest of her staff. We asked if she was planning on quitting and she said yes this is my last night and others are leaving also. They were all leaving to work at a restaurant where the owner doesn't steal their tips. The 18% is very deceiving! Tracy G read more

Great food, great service. Only negative is that the menus are a bit overwhelming. Personal preference is to have smaller selection of excellent food with menu that changes frequently. However we had a great time and enjoyed the food, waitstaff and environment. Great find for us during our one night stay in Eau Claire. read more

I love Mona Lisa's, and every time I go, I am never disappointed with the amazing atmosphere and delicious food! I have tried everything from appetizers, to drinks, to desserts, and everything has deserved an A+ from me. This is probably the best restaurant in Eau Claire in my opinion, which is refreshing due to the fact that the Twin Cities are about an hour and a half away. The atmosphere is cozy and elegant, and the food has a sophisticated twist with great portion sizes. Everything is good, so you don't have to worry about what to order, you just have to choose from their large, diverse menu. If you are in Eau Claire and looking for a great place to eat, Mona's is THE place to go. read more

If you haven't tried this place you are missing out! Been in the area for almost five years and never heard of Mona Lisa's until it was recommended by a friend. We were impressed. It jumped to the top of our favorite restaurants in Eau Claire. Food was great. The wait staff was helpful and attentive. Loved the local, fresh ingredients. It was a great choice for our anniversary dinner. read more

After hearing such great things about Mona Lisa's I had to check it out for myself. My mom and I went there one evening for dinner and I was very excited. Once receiving the menu I was a little underwhelmed with the amount of options. Also, our server didn't seem pleased to be taking our order or even somewhat happy to be at work. The server was not attentive and I had to wait a good 10 minutes for him to find my water glass empty, and then another 5 minutes to take our plates away. Also, there was no suggestive selling at all, after my mother and I finished our meal he just brought the check over and didn't seem too happy when we told him we'd like dessert. Then our dessert took at least 15 minutes. The entree itself was not filling in the least bit, for the price I was paying I expected a little more substance or at least higher quality. Overall, I was extremely underwhelmed and don't see myself revisiting. read more

I have eaten here several times. Pricey in Eau Claire but the food, service, and atmosphere are all great. There is also a great selection of wine and beer. It has been my experience that food takes a very long time to get to you, so order fast. The taste makes up for it though! The staple place for business outings and anniversaries in Eau Claire. read more

Those who are raving about this place are in denial; who in their right mind would pay $32 for a plate of really bad food after all? Service is terrible for what they are charging. We got Emma S for our last visit; she didn't listen, rolled her eyes, and not an ounce of hospitality was felt. As for the food, they use sugar in all of their dishes and keep adding bacon in everything; these two ingredients made our dish too sweet and salty. Our seared scallops didn't come with snow peas as advertised on the menu and no mention of substitute was given as an option. The stuffed prawns were a disaster. Tiny shrimps beaten flat so they resembled imitation crab meat. It came with a horrible mixture of crab and cheese on top. Disaster. To make things worse, they put hollandaise sauce on top to mask all the terrible flavor . If you must come here, I recommend sticking to the bar and ordering something safe like a pizza. read more

Despite the few less than stellar reviews, most of which seem to focus on petty concerns not related to the quality of a meal, we would encourage you to consider trying what we consider to be one of the finer restaurants in the Eau Claire area. Nicely appointed yet casual Mona Lisa's delivers an expertly prepared selection of Italian and related dishes nicely presented by an attentive staff. We had the savory paella after the beet salad and finished our meal (shared, as there was ample quantity) with a sorbet trio. Though not falling into the category of Italian cuisine, our paella was artfully prepared and brought to our table at the perfect temperature, something that is often missing in the serving elsewhere, but not by Mona Lisa's chef and wait staff. Chloe was attentive without becoming intrusive. She allowed us time to sample our dinner before inquiring as to whether it pleased us (it most certainly did) and graciously fulfilled our few requests. Again, this restaurant is underrated on this website. It should be noted that many restaurants have had great difficulty opening up to on-site dining after so many months' interruption. We don't know the reason a few reviewers couldn't bring themselves to be more charitable, however we were impressed with the quality of our meal and with the manner and promptness of our server. We might also note that, when it came up on one occasion, another server, Kate, was most courteous in assisting Chloe in a moment of high demand, not something one always encounters, which speaks to the level of staff training and the permission granted them by management. Overall, this restaurant is a class act and deserves your attention. read more

Husband had a birthday so after reading reviews tried it out. The appetizer called the board was terrific. We shared the scallops and and red snapper was awesome followed by double chocolate raspberry brownie for dessert. Only one disappointment was when the bill came they charged for refill ice teas and didn't tell us ahead. YIKES... read more

Had an absolute phenomenal time yesterday. It had been a hot day at work and I barely managed to make it to my 5:30 reservation on time to meet my step father. When I did arrive we decided to sit at the bar, the bartender was very attentive and had of filled my water glass 4+ times. Never let my glass stay empty too long. The drinks were great, served in a ice cold glass and the only complaint I have about the food is that I didn't have a spoon to help get every last bit of sauce on my plate. I will be back soon! read more

Our go to for date nights or cocktails with friends. Beautiful, artsy, and romantically lit space and the food is always consistent (GET THE GOAT CHEESE FONDUE!) and generous portions. Make sure you get a reservation on the weekends! read more

I loved the crispy kale pizza here. The Caesar salad was done in a non-traditional way that kids might not like. The adults liked it but the kids would not eat it. read more

I had a meal two weeks ago and the meatballs were cooking in the microwave. Such a shame cooking microwave food in the restaurant in 21th century. Then I had pasta that was overcook with classic boring marinara sauce. Maybe I'm too Italian to come and eating your food. I feel sorry that costumers have to taste not even close what they should order. For add one Italian sausage 7$? Probably frozen. read more

Real food made by a chef for less money than Red Lobster. The food is amazing, if you go to a restaurant for some other reason then I can't help you. Reserve a time or they will make you sit on ridiculous couches until they have a table. read more

The food here was really good. Coffee and tiramisu is great too. I've been there several times and it never disappoints me. Fun vibe with faux Mona Lisa's on the ceiling (my favorite had Woody Allen's face). Excellent service - thank you David! This place just checks all the boxes. Honestly, if I want to go somewhere locally to have an experience and not just eat dinner, this is where I go. From the moment I walked in this evening, the energy enveloped me. Consistently attentive service. The food can be amazing. This evening my husband's steak was done exactly as he wanted and my braised pork with cocoa pasta was outstanding. A nice tawny port to finish the meal. The ambiance and food quality make this a local treasure. Highly recommend! read more

We made a reservation and arrived on time. From the second we walked in the host, who we found out later was the owner, made us feel like we were an imposition. Our family drove 3 hours to celebrate my daughter's college graduation with her. With covid restrictions this was the only celebration we were having. Immediately after our food was boxed up and we paid the $400 bill, the owner abruptly told us she needed our table and we had to leave. At this point we didn't know she was the owner so on our way out we asked for her name. She said "Lisa, as in Mona Lisa", in a tone that made it very clear she thought we were complete idiots for not knowing who she was. We told her how disappointed we were at the way she treated us. Her response was to tell us we didn't need to come back. Trust me Lisa we won't. Before eating here I strongly recommend you read the reviews and pay close attention to how she responds to the negative ones because that's exactly the type of service you will get from her. read more

The ambiance is wonderful! They had a nice fire going in the fireplace and it was vey romantic. The wine is quite expensive so I ended up getting a pomegranate martini which wasn't great. We ordered the wonton shrimp appetizer which was okay. For the entrée I ordered the seafood ravioli, the seafood part was just okay, but the ravioli and sauce was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend ordered the tortellini pesto and it was also very good. Overall a good experience. read more

Arguably the best restaurant in Chippewa Valley. The take-out option works great, and the food is amazing. The Pasta Putanesca with the sausage is my favorite - where do they get that sausage? I moan when eat it because it's so good, and also because I know that soon it will be gone. read more

Not our favorite, took a while for the main courses to actually arrive, extremely pricey for the amount and quality you get. Tortelloni and Alfredo pasta with chicken tasted like tuna helper, meat pizza was ok but extremely thin so you have to eat the entire pizza in order to feel somewhat satisfied, and for the price it definitely wasn't worth it. My friend made a mistake on his order, which he completely admitted to the waitress and asked for a new order. He said he didn't want to keep the original order or take it home and even said he would pay for his mistake. Well he definitely did pay, they took the entire plate back and made him a new one which was awesome, but then still charged him fully for his 2 dinners, one of which was probably eaten by the staff in the back. Again, he told them it was his fault and that he'd pay, but they could've given him 50% off of one of the meals since he didn't even touch it.. I won't be going back here. read more

I have a friend that works there. She says the food is great there and service. I love Italian food.

In my opinion, one of the better restaurants in Eau Claire, and certainly one of the funnest. Have never gone wrong on any of the dishes, enjoy the cocktails, great staff and atmosphere. The entire area is inviting, warm and sociable whether in the dining room, bar, or outdoor patio. Definitely one of my go to places when in Eau Claire. Oh yeah, on select evenings, they have wine tastings - a big plus. read more
