Make sure you do a thorough self-exam - and build a complete list noting every mark on your body that you want to discuss - before your annual appointment. I had the same problem as other reviews with billing. My credit card was debited $45 for a copay with no notification. I understand the need for them to have a credit card on file, however, to simply take my money without an invoice, email or phone call is poor business practice. I couldn't imagine withholding one of my clients funds without prior communication. The end state was that after the billing department communicated with my insurance provider the $45 was refunded to my account. I am retired and wonder what would have been the result if it had been $450 or $4,500! In my opinion, medical treatment was always fantastic. read more

When it comes to billing, I would suggest not to keep a credit card on file. My American Express notified me that I got an unauthorized charge over the weekend and it was from their office. I never got an invoice and when I called, they said that my insurance did not cover my full appointment . I said that is great, but they should first send me an invoice and let me decide how I want to pay it instead of just taking the liberty of charging my card without my permission or without an invoice! I paid $100 that insurance did not cover to get some bumps frozen off and it did nothing ! read more

I visited Mona dermatology upon recommendation from a friend. I was interested in having some Botox and filler done. I couldn't get an appointment with Dr. Foad so I was scheduled to see the physician assistant Jessica Watkins. I did have a hard time finding the office as there is no large sign out front. When I finally arrived, I observed that the rooms and waiting area at Mona dermatology were very soothing and elegant. I was quickly agreed by a friendly receptionist. She took my information and I waited no more than a minute before Janet, an assistant, came out and took me back to one of the exam rooms. Janet was also very friendly and asked a few questions to help determine my expectations. Jessica came in shortly after and was very professional and friendly too. She asked for my reasons for the visit and patiently explained all of the different services that would be available to me so that I could achieve my desired look. After we decided on a plan, Janet numbed my face in preparation for injections. I was glad that I had made the trip to Mona dermatology. I felt very confident in the abilities and knowledge of all of the staff, especially Jessica Watkins. I would highly recommend Mona dermatology to anyone looking for their better self. read more

I've waited a while to write this review, because I wanted to have as many experiences with this particular office and doctor before giving my feedback. I've been seeing Dr. Mona and her Nurse Practitioners for roughly 2-3 years now, so I feel I am able to give an educated review. For starters, you must know going in that Dr. Mona is busy. On top of running the dermatology center, she also has the Skinology unit, which focuses on things like Botox, fillers, etc. so she's a busy woman. She's also highly regarded and has a large amount of patients, so expect to wait a few months before getting an appointment. When I called to make my first appointment, I believe it was maybe four months before they got me in. No biggie, but just wanted to acknowledge this for anyone who may be in a rush to be seen. Also, wait times will likely be shorter if you're willing to be seen by a NP instead of Dr. Mona herself. If you're giving this option, take it. The NPs are wonderful and trustworthy, and if something comes up that they feel is out of their league, they'll schedule you to be seen by Dr. Mona. If you're like me and seeing a dermatologist for a skin scan (mole check) prepare to disrobe. I was a little surprised by this because my former dermatologist never even asked me to remove my shoes. Guess that's a testament to why I ended up coming to another doctor. You are able to leave your underwear on, but ladies, the bra has got to go. I've seen Dr. Mona for a skin exam once and her practitioners for the rest of the exams, which are biannual for me. All of them are THOROUGH. I can leave feeling like all of my freckles and moles have been checked with full attention. On top of that, they take plenty of photos to compare each time you're in, so they know what's up if something new arises. At this point, I've had many shave biopsies, one deep shave biopsy and one full removal with stitches. Dr. Mona handles all of these procedures and they will bump you way up on the waiting list if they feel it's something that needs to be addressed sooner rather than later. My full removal went very well. She played music, had casual conversation and kept updating me on what was going on. Very, very minimal pain afterwards, which was a pleasant surprise. At about one week post-op, I noticed that the incision sight looked a bit irritated, had some discharge and one of the stitches had possibly dissolved prematurely. It was about 9pm at this point, so I knew the office wasn't open. I called the office thinking I could leave a message that would hopefully be returned the next day, but instead was greeted with a message giving me Dr. Mona's phone number so I can text her with concerns! I was pretty impressed with this; how many doctors do you know that are okay with clients texting them after hours? For me, that answer would be a whopping ZERO until now. I sent her a text explaining the situation and she replied quickly, asking for a photo. After the photo had sent, she told she could see me first thing the next day! For this, I just walked in and they nearly immediately took me into an exam room, with Dr. Mona following within about five minutes. Luckily, everything was okay, but she wrote me a seven day prescription for Bactrim just to be sure. They bandaged me up and sent me on my way; in and out in about 10-15 minutes. All in all, I don't think I will ever be looking for another dermatologist at this point. I've had a wonderful experience with Dr. Mona and her team. We are considering moving to Columbus within the next year or two and I've already told my boyfriend that we will continue driving to Cincinnati for my dermatologist. read more

Just downright terrible customer service. Without being presented a bill or even a phone call to authorize a charge, I was charged for a visit....9 days after the fact. After e-mailing Billing expressing my concern and dissatisfaction nearly a week ago I haven't received a response. I usually don't do many reviews on doctor's offices but I have really enjoyed my visits to Mona Dermatology. Their office only has women as doctors and employees and I love that about them. That's not to say that they won't service men, but they do cater primarily to women. They have a multitude of services so definitely don't assume that it's just for skin care. I highly suggest going to their website to view exactly what they have to offer but the list is extensive. I love how friendly and warm they are, how they have done very well with social distancing guidelines, and how they always ensure that you have a great experience no matter what. I have seen many different doctors here and all of them are amazing. From the owner, to the receptionist call everyone is so kind and friendly. They are extremely thorough as well. No common courtesy, I had 192.86 taken out of my bank without a courtesy call saying they were going to take it out. Never had a bill sent to me requesting that I owed it. I asked for an itemized bill and Shannon said they don't send out bills or call to let customers know they will take money out of your bank. I have no problem paying the bill just wanted a bill showing what was charged and how much my insurance paid, etc. The fact that they took money out without calling me to let me know is rediculous and just wrong. I guess money is more important to some people then the care and common courtesy to the people that pay their wages. Needless to say I canceled my 2 appts for next year. Clean, attractive, remodeled location. Dr. Mona herself does a great job. Beware if you get Anna who is a nurse. I had Dr. Mona in the past with no issues. This time I got Anna. It wasn't the same experience. The injections she put in made my eyes look worse. My eye skin dropped down on my eyelids. I can't even recognize myself. I never had this experience before and I have a long record. I lost my boyfriend the next week from Covid and Dementia. I was trying to make my adjustment appointment when I physically was overwhelmed with periods of grief. That happened twice. They charged me $75. Then when I tried to make a third appointment my car wouldn't start on a cold day. Maybe this was a sign? Somehow they had no compassion just wanted to keep charging me another $75 to make another appointment. I had been there several times years earlier and never had a problem with my appointments. At the age of 36, I had never actually been to see a dermatologist. My skin had always been decent (thanks, genetics!), aside from the usual monthly hormonal breakout. But then a few months ago, IT happened. There it was, as clear as day, a WRINKLE on my FOREHEAD! It looked like I had been wearing a hat all day, and it had left an imprint. My mortality sunk in... Coincidentally, around that time, I was contacted for my services as a makeup artist by Leigh Ann Panch, the Nurse Practitioner at Dr. Foad's office. The timing proved it was kismet. I made an appointment for Botox, which they were having great deals on. Much to my chagrin, one of the first things Leigh Ann said to me very sweetly was "Let's discuss your acne". I thought, 'MY acne? I get like 2 zits a month!'. She asked me how I would like to get zero, for the rest of my life by using a daily Rx cream every night along with my other skin care. I was pretty much sold at that idea, but to sweeten the deal, she gave me tons of samples to try before I actually filled the Rx she wrote for me for EpiDuo, AND a coupon where my first bottle from the pharmacy was FREE! And she was right, ever since I have started using it, zero pimples, even that dreaded hormonal chin breakout that comes around every 2 days. So back to my original concern, the wrinkle. She laughed and said it wasn't bad at all, but I explained that as a makeup artist, I have to look great for my clients, so i wanted it gone. Also, she explained that starting Botox before your wrinkles get out of control actually prevents them in the future, so double bonus. I have to say, i am really afraid of needles but it didn't hurt at all! She was so sweet and just kept talking and distracting me, before I knew it, she was done. Now, no forehead wrinkle, no zits, and all I get are compliments on my skin. Oh, and yes, i can still move my forehead, it's not frozen like an over-stuck Hollywood actress. Also, being in the beauty industry and just generally obsessed with anything related, I had tons of questions for myself and for clients, and they very patiently and thoroughly answered every one, even bringing in the esthetician ,Benita to talk to me about peels and other services. I will recommend them to every woman I work with that has problem skin or just wants to look amazing on a daily basis, and I'm gonna go in and try that peel soon, just for the heck of it! read more

I've lived in a number of cities and, consequently, have visited a number of dermatologists over the years. In my opinion, this office is at best a joke and at worst a scam. The nurse practitioner made terrible product recommendations (that I purchased, but can't possibly use) and did not follow-up with pricing for additional procedures as she said she would. I wrote an email to the office detailing my dissatisfaction and with the lack of followthrough and never even received a reply. As others have written in reviews online, this office seems more interested in selling products than with giving worthwhile medical advice and treatment. They have a B- rating with the BBB and that says a lot. I recommend looking elsewhere. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Foad and her staff since high school (I am now in my late twenties) and they have done wonders for my skin. I struggled with moderate acne throughout high school (nothing too terrible), which Dr. Foad always helped me manage. In my later college years, my skin took a serious turn for the worse, so Dr. Foad helped me through the Accutane process. I could've found a dermatologist in the town where I went to school, but I trusted Dr. Foad so much that I would drive nearly 6 hours round trip for my monthly Accutane appointments. Despite her very busy schedule, she would always spend lots of time with me during my appointments to make sure everything was going well. She even gave me her cell phone number and told me to text or call at any time, day or night. Dr. Foad truly goes the extra mile for her patients. She is a VERY popular dermatologist in the area (for good reason), but I promise the wait for an appointment for a new patient is worth it. And once you are an established patient, the wait time for an appointment becomes MUCH shorter. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Foad and her staff! read more

I have been seeing Dr Mona Foad for many years now. She is the best of the best. She is an excellant, excellent Dr., but not only that, she is caring, kind, considerate, patient, and just an overall wonderful human being. She truly knows her stuff, and seeing her is like going to see a friend. I have seen her for my adult acne, as well as for Juvederm fillers. She is a true artist when it comes to fillers. I came here for help with my scalp as I have been losing hair rapidly. I wanted to know if there was something going on with my scalp and/or potentially my hair. Without even looking at my scalp or my hair (she was sitting across the room from me), she told me to use Rogain, get a steroid for my scalp, and if necessary do injections. I felt like she was only concerned about the look of my hair and did not want to get to the root of the problem, wasn't concerned with WHY my scalp was the way it was. I really wish she had actually looked at my scalp and hair and maybe taken a scalp sample like most dermatology centers do. Really disappointed and still losing hair, because I never found out WHY my issues were happening, only how to maybe cover them up. It really seemed like she didn't know anything concerning hair loss or the scalp, because there were no explanations, just aesthetic recommendations. I really appreciate when you can find a great physician: and it's even more rare these days to find a pleasent and caring staff to go with. I was completely blown away by my visit and how well I was cared for, and helped. I admit I was nervous. But they cared enough to take the time, and helped calm my nerves. From the helpful front desk woman who calmed my nerves to the sweet billing woman who made sure I knew everything I needed to before my procedure and then follow up with me afterwards. The physicians ladies helped me understand the "issues" I was having and gave excellent explanations to the questions I had. The only downside was that I had to wait past my appointment time. However; after my experience I was still thankful that the Physicians Assistant Megan, running behind at that point, still took her time with me and gave me confidence in the treatment we decided.
