I had a disappointing experience at this dermatology office. During a previous visit, I mentioned that Accutane seemed to be irritating my esophagus. When I brought this up to Dr. Stephenson, he responded that he had "never heard of that," and didn't seem interested in discussing it further. I let it go at the time. At today's final Accutane checkup, I needed to show the doctor some skin irritation on my inner thighs. Since this is a dermatology office, I assumed this would be a safe space to address skin concerns. I initially showed a picture, but Dr. Stephenson said he couldn't assess much from photos and asked to see it in person. Although it was embarrassing, I decided to show the affected area and made it clear that I felt uncomfortable removing my pants in front of both the doctor and nurse. Instead of offering reassurance or making the situation more comfortable, they were both completely silent -- and to make matters worse, the nurse, Sheryl, actually smiled like she was about to laugh. It was incredibly unprofessional and made me feel judged and humiliated during what was already a vulnerable moment. I came seeking medical care and left feeling uncomfortable and dismissed. If you're in the field of dermatology, you should be prepared to treat all kinds of skin conditions -- without making patients feel weird or ashamed for having them. read more

They do not practice safe medical procedures. They do not sterilize and they re-use needles. They can never draw blood successfully and leave terrible bruising due to the number of pricks attempted and wiggling the needle around after insertion. They do not wear gloves. The staff here did not know how to treat my condition, charged me $1200 (before insurance) and told me to seek help elsewhere. Then one month after paying my bill of $418 (after insurance) I received a second bill for $463 (after insurance) I was told by customer service I need to pay the second bill, as it is for "something different" than the first bill was. It's funny this second bill came out of no where with no explanation after I had already closed out my first bill with absolutely no intention of ever using this clinic again. This second "mystery bill" came almost a full year after visiting this clinic and after my initial bill was paid in full. So if you are looking to pay close to $1000 dollars after insurance for a clinic to simply refer you to another unaffiliated practice, this is the clinic for you! I was looking for a dermatologist that was near my house, and this was perfect. I called about a week in advance, and they were able to squeeze me in even with my busy schedule. They found a place for me after the school work today and were polite with my request. It's always a plus for a doctors office to have open spots and a flexible schedule. I had worked with one of the providers from The Dermatology Group in the past, not even knowing that he was now a doctor with this private practice. I was told by his assistant that working for a private practice has its benefits, as well as allows more flexibility with their patients. He (the doctor) has enjoyed his switch from Uc Health Hospital to a private company. I felt welcomed as soon as I walked in. I was greeted from behind the desk and asked to go to a secluded area to answer a few questions and fill out some paperwork. I was called back to speak to the doctor right away. Everything is so digital now, and the doctors assistant was able to use an iPad to take pictures of my skin, as well as wirelessly print some paperwork from the printer in front of me. They made it look so seemless! Seth Stevenson and his assistant Cheryl make a great team. I felt welcomed and heard. They listened to me and offered wisdom and advice for long term. Visiting the Dermatology group and working with Franceine Potter was truly an amazing experience. The hospitality I received when I walked into the door was truly welcoming. The efficiency of the front staff and the setup of the check-in was what I expect every time I enter a health care providers office. I only had to wait a couple of minutes before I was ushered into my room. Franceine's nursing staff was extremely friendly and outgoing. Once in the examination room, I'm accustomed to waiting several minutes, however it was within one minute Franceine popped into the room to get started. My condition was such that I had to visit multiple physicians to treat. And each experience left me with a wanting. However, the visit with Franceine was unequivocal. Her examination was on par or above any other dermatologist that I have visited. She took the time to thoroughly explain my condition along with actually listening to me. The way she explained my disease made me understand it even more and empowered me to be proactive in my future treatments. Overall, I'm so blessed to have found Franceine. She is the type of health care provider that once you find; you pray she will never retire. I honestly recommend Franceine to all my family and friends for their dermatological needs. read more

don't get PRP done here, they do not know how to draw blood. They did not follow clean/proper medical protocol. They did not wear gloves, they did not wipe down the area with alcohol pads before poking me. I had to remind them to do these basic things. They also re used the same needle multiple times to poke me (at some point she had two needles within 2 cm of each other in the same arm trying to find the vein) Not worth it. They kept asking me to reschedule because they couldn't draw my blood after poking me 4-5 times. Nice team but definitely unprofessional and not safe. Not acceptable. See them for things that don't require a blood draw and you'll be ok. I asked them multiple times if any other medical professionals in the office could draw my blood but they insisted that nobody else could. Mind you this happened at multiple visits. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt because they are kind and got my blood drawn before but I still had to remind them of the basic clean steps of gloves and wiping down the area when they did. Yes I was hydrated, and no I did not have this blood drawing concern with phlebotomists and nurses at other offices. I don't believe this is a safe place for PRP. Great people to speak to but they didn't make the best choices. I notified the manager to help them improve because it would suck for anyone else to experience this and also it puts those team members at risk of receiving blood borne pathogens, they don't deserve that either. Maybe this experience will help them re-train their staff and I hope they prioritize this. Posting this for patient safety and transparency not clout. After a couple months went by it continued to grow and look more concerning, so I went to get a second opinion and turns out it was something way more complicated. I had a biopsy and was told that they would notify me within two weeks. Two weeks have past and I haven't heard anything. I called and left a message with my doctor's assistant, never got a return call. I sent an email from the patient's portal of their website - no response to that. I think this dermatology office has overwhelmed itself with taking on too much business. A couple of years ago it was much better. When I arrived there were 10 people waiting (sitting and standing) and that was only in waiting room A. I couldn't see waiting room B or how many people were in there. While I was sitting and waiting another 5 or 6 people walked in. But, that isn't really what I'm concerned about. I do understand that every business can have rough days and this was probably one of them for this group. It was my visit with nurse practitioner Nancy Hogan that was unpleasant. She was very dry and non-compassionate about the problem I was having. Said I should have not seen a dermatologist for this issue (a scar). Did not offer any solution for my issue until I told her what my physical therapist had told me and then she said, yes, keep doing that. It might work. She stood at a distance from me. Really gave me the impression that I had no business being there. She left the room less than 5 minutes after she entered it and I just sat there wondering what just happened! I have never had a visit like this with a doctor. Maybe, my family doctor has spoiled me by sitting in front of me and listening to me! read more

I call to make appointment I ask if they accept my insurance they tell me I have to call my insurance myself to find out if If my insurance will cover my visit they are in a jury to take your money but it is an inconviience for them to call for you..I finally was seen for my appointment they were 20 minutes late getting to me. I felt very individualized and like i had her direct attention; not rushed by any means and like I had her full attention. I made an appointment with Dr Franceine Potter for my teenage son for chronic acne. We didn't wait for more than 5 minutes in the waiting room. I explained to Dr Potter that I didn't want him to have to take any medications or antibiotics if possible and she really listened to both what we did and didn't want to do. She gave us several options and helped us come up with a regime that he was most likely to stick with. She was thorough and professional, while still friendly and reassuring to my son. The office even followed up with us a few days later to see if we had any additional questions. My sons acne is almost completely gone! Thank you so much for that gift! read more

First appointment with Dr. Zitelli and there will NOT be another. My husband and I had 1-hour appt's each - one at 8:30 and the second beginning at 9:30. We were both out of office in our car at 9:22 am. The following are some points of merit. Even with request to see, via a mirror, a skin area on chest that was concerning to Dr. Zitelli, it was not complied with. Prescription(s) were supposedly sent via iPad to pharmacy but NEVER received. Beginning on day of appt's, messages were left for Dr. Zitelli, two by pharmacist...Nine days later still waiting. Good luck speaking with a person, no prompts on their phone for THAT. Another point of notice, no wound care instructions for performed biopsy. Lastly, The Dermatology Group is connected with DermPro Dermatopathology. One of the doctors is president and founder. Be advised! read more

I have been a patient with this group for several years. Last September when I was informed that an office was being opened in the Eastgate area I indicated that I wished to be treated at that location. When I tried to make an appointment for Sept, 2020, I was told the program was not open. I tried again in November and told the program was still not open and to call back in January. I called in January and made an appointment in Sept at the Eastgate office. Last week I learned, quite by accident that my appointment had been cancelled. No one knew who and why. I asked to speak to the office manager to learn why I was not even given a courtesy call about my cancellation. I have left 2 messages a day for 3 days for the office manager and haven't even received a call back. I knew that the last 2 yrs were chaotic with the recent purchase of the practice, but this is totally unprofessional. I certainly expected better service from this group and certainly a call from the office manager. If she refuses to talk with patients, she should not be in that position and it may explain the issues and I and others have had. read more

First time here. I expected better from from this group. They lost my appointment, (same thing happened to the man before me), and on top of that, they had me scheduled with Nancy Hogan who was there but not seeing patients that day. They first tried to blame it on me which really started the bad vibe, then blamed it on getting used to new computer software. Also, they were unable to get my insurance into their computer, so hopefully they have by now. So Ms. Hogan agreed to see me anyway. I think she was annoyed that she had to. Not sure why, as it took only about 5 minutes for my very first dermatology appointment for an overall cancer check and to freeze 2 precancerous spots. She was not compassionate and seemed uninterested in me. She would mention things to the MA to write down, as if I wasn't there. Then it took me a week to get her to call in the Rx that she had recommended. Finally, she called it in, but it was for my hands, not my face as discussed. I had to make 5 calls to her, leaving detailed messages just to get one Rx. This was a very frustrating doctor visit! If I decide to go back to this practice, I will see someone else. read more

Absolutely a fantastic experience from beginning to end. Check in was smooth with a very cheerful receptionist quickly getting me checked in. Waited maybe 45 seconds before getting into an observational room. Within minutes, Dr. Waymire is in there with a fabulous nurse looking me over. Found a couple spots she didn't like, promptly took samples for testing, answered every question I had, was very helpful, professional, personable and patient with me. This may be the worst Doctor's office in Cincinnati. I scheduled my 1st appointment 6 weeks in advance only to be told when I arrived that my doctor just left for lunch. I was asked to grab some lunch and kill an hour and come back when he returns. When he did return there was no apology. He gave us a prescription and encouraged us to use there pharmacy, at this point we have spent 2 1/2 hours trying to get through this process. The lady at the pharmacy acted as if we had all day to wait on the prescription, I left and got it filled at Walgreen's. To make matters worse, my daughter was late for her next appointment (full disclosure, my fault) she was told that she had to reschedule. When I explained my prior experience she simply couldn't care less. I will never use this office again and I advice anyone who values good service to steer clear. BTW. I'm sure that the review from Veronica had to be an employee. These people really suck. read more

I had my first appointment with Dr. Elizabeth Uhlenhake. My appointment time was 10:40. I was asked to show up @10:30 to complete the new patient paperwork. I arrived at 10:30 and was received immediately at a cubicle where I shared my insurance information. Following this I moved to the next waiting area where i spent only 10 minutes. I was taken into a room that had the appearance it had not been cleaned recently. The sharps container was left opened and was filled to the brim. The garbage can had the same appearance. I could not help but notice that there was not a hand washing sink in the room. I am not sure if the doctor washed her hands prior to coming in. When Dr. Uhlenhake reviewed my skin she stated she had to remove a few moles. She had her assistant inject the areas with a numbing solution, and stated she would be right back to remove the problem moles. 55 minutes later she reappeared sharing she was sorry for the delay but her last patient had a problem with bleeding and had to get that under control before she left. I asked why nobody came into my room to let me know. She apologized once again and told me she would see me in a year unless the biopsy comes back concerning. I did check as well for the prescriptions that were supposed to be sent to my pharmacy and unfortunately they did not receive them. I have to wait until Monday to call the office to check on this. When I was called to the front desk, they said they didn't have me down for an appt and made it sound like I missed one the end of May. I explained I had to change that appt to June 20. Evidently they didn't change it in their system, which they said is new and they're still getting used to. (The man before me also was not on the books). Then, I sat for 15 min while they tried to enter my insurance. It was never accomplished so she said she'd do it later, (let's hope). Another glitch of their new system. BTW, I do have to say the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Okay, so now they had to tell me Nancy Hogan, the nurse practitioner who I was there to see was not taking patients that day but was there. Could I see Seth? Well, this was for my first overall cancer check, a couple of concerning spots and I preferred seeing a female for this, so I offered to reschedule. They said they'd ask Nancy if she could see me. Well, I made it back into the exam room with a short wait. Nancy Hogan came in and then I'm not sure what happened. I had a similar experience to a previous reviewer SueD z. I found Ms. Hogan to be non-compassionate and uninterested in me. This was the worst Dr. visit I've ever had. First of all, she seemed bothered by having to see me on a day she had no appts. scheduled. Why would they have scheduled me for that day anyway!! It was their mistake, not mine that they forgot to put my appt in! She froze the 2 spots I had been concerned with, as she said they were precancerous. She barely looked at them. The overall body check seemed abrupt and not as thorough as I would've thought it would be. She would mention a few things to the medical assistant to write down as if I wasn't there. She offered an Rx for my face that has hyper something, she never explained it. I declined it, wanting a minute to think about it and see if insurance would cover it. It all went so fast! My entire visit took about 5 minutes. Like, what just happened! At checkout, I asked about the Rx and should I just get it then. The woman was friendly and said check out the price and just give us a call if you want it called in, so that is what I did. Actually, it took 5 calls because Ms. Hogan would not return my calls. I left 3 very detailed messages for her as to why I was calling. She finally called in a Rx and left a voicemail to advise me of the Rx for my hands. Hands?? Supposed to be for my face. After a week of "pulling teeth", she finally got it right. I think this is not the place for me. read more

From the minute we walked in everyone was friendly, kind and professional.This is by far the most efficient dermatologist's appointment I've ever had. After calling a few other dermatologists and told the first available appointment was anywhere from several weeks to a few months out I decided to call The Dermatology Group after seeing a commercial promising appointments in two weeks. I don't even want to give this place one star. From the moment I stepped into this office it was HELL. Every single person I encountered was rude as ever. When you walk into any normal place of business you expect to be greeted and treated as though you are welcome at their place of business. Some lady that looked like Patrick star from SpongeBob rolled her eyes and slid her chair over, grabbed the board and slid back over to her computer. Once I was taken back to my room, I could hear staff talking bad about other patients. Acting annoyed with questions they were receiving and laughing about some lady's outfit. It just so happened to be the DOCTOR (Francine Potter) that would be treating me. She opens the door and slammed it shut, her assistant walked in a few seconds later and gave me a wide eyed look as though she knew I noticed the hostility going on. I felt completely uncomfortable in the room and hearing the conversations they were having outside the room made me think what they were going to say when I left. I could continue but i think you catch my drift. I have also had family have horrible experiences after at this office and we will never return. read more
