I visited this office for what I thought would be a routine dermatology exam. I was seen by an in-network nurse practitioner, but later discovered my insurance was billed under a different out-of-network physician's name. I was never told before my visit that this would cause my insurance to deny coverage or that I would be billed at out-of-network rates. When I disputed the charges, the office claimed I "should have known" from a past visit more than a year earlier -- even though they never disclosed this at the time of the current appointment. The result? A bill hundreds of dollars higher than expected for a basic procedure, plus pressure to schedule unnecessary follow-up visits. Patients deserve transparency about costs and insurance coverage before treatment. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend asking detailed questions about how your visit will be billed, who the "billing provider" will be, and whether that provider is in-network -- or consider going elsewhere. read more

I had an appointment on Monday for a routine examination. When I got to the office, it was closed. No one contacted me to let me know to change my appointment or that the office was closed on Monday. I had changed my work schedule to keep this appointment. There were three other people at the door who also had not been notified the office was closed. The person I spoke to on the phone was very uncaring about my situation. Obviously their customer service skills are lacking and they have no concept of taking care of patients. They lost a patient and anyone I can keep from seeing them I will. read more

I have been to the Eastgate office on a few occasions for preventative screenings and a biopsy. Associates were friendly but when issues arose with my procedure site, swelling, pain ,redness. I was unable to get the office to respond in a timeley manner. My first call Monday morning, the phone line had issues and the message was to try back later. In the meantime I contacted my pcp (over the weekend it had worsend) sent her pictures and she prescribed an abx and advised me to call the office. In the afternoon I contacted the office and they advised me to send over photo as well. It took the office till the next day to forward my photo. That afternoon i get a call from the office saying looks like it could be infected , continue the abx and call us if it gets worse. Well the first call was made yesterday and yes it is worse. They again would get back with me, no return call. So i had to go to the store and the more i thought about it, I decided to pop into the office and ask" is there a someone that could look at this, (4:06 pm) Is this healing properly.: Response - were closed no one is here, but you need to have that looked at, they are here tomorrow. I asked if she could make me an appointment and she said no. She advised me to just show up tomorrow.. Needless to say , 3rd day, have yet to recieve a call to advise on the situation;.if the abx the pcp prescribed, amount and dosage would be correct and or if they wanted to see me. I just had my first appointment scheduled, I got to the office 5 minutes before my appointment but I was not aware of the parking situation and it took me 10 minutes to find parking, I tried to call and couldn't get through to anyone. I ended up parking at the other building and walking with in 10 degree weather with my baby. I ended up being 15 minutes late by the time I got in there and they would not see me. I took off work, had to take my baby out in the cold and even tried to call to let them know I was struggling to find parking and they still would not see me. These people are crooks. On two different occasions they quoted me one price for a procedure but both times charged me a higher price when I got the bill. I tried for 12 months to get one of these situations resolved but no one ever answers in their billing office. I sent letters but none were ever answered. I will NEVER go to these doctors again. read more

Several complaints about this place. One: they declined my request for cosmetic mole removal because it might cause scaring and suggested I use a business that a nurse runs instead for laser facials. There is always a risk for scarring with moles and it's ridiculous that they aren't willing to provide this service as a dermatologist office. Referring me to an external medspa reeks of being a scam. Two: I had to call this office 5 times over the course of a month to get prescriptions I requested at my appointment which they somehow had no record of. When they finally filled the prescriptions they did it incorrectly. Not wanting to have to wait another month for them to fix it, I decided to wait until I needed a refill to ask for a fix. Four months later I request changes to the prescription that they messed up and they tell me I need to come in for another appointment to be examined. This place is a total scam and just wants your money. Stay far far away. Oh I forgot they also try to push $100 cosmetic products on you. Terrible! read more

Beware of this place. This was the first dermatology office I've been to since moving here from out of state. I made an appointment as a new patient to meet with a dermatologist about a skin cancer screening. I was shocked that I was not meeting with an actual dermatologist but just the nurse and PA. I questioned the PA about seeing the dr. For my exam and she told me that it's only necessary if a biopsy comes back abnormal. She didn't even do a screening she just asked me what spots I had concerns about. She then proceeded to tell me that she needs to do a biopsy because she wasn't sure. I was rushed during the appointment and never saw a dr. My impression of this place is that they overbook. It's not a place to go if you have serious concerns about your skin. read more

Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced anywhere. I've waited over two weeks for them to fill out a preauthorization form for my insurance and they just don't do it. I can't get answers from them. They don't respond to my emails or phone calls. No acknowledgement and no response. Extremely frustrating. Maybe if they could charge me a copay and overbill my insurance they'd actually respond!! read more

I've been trying to get on Acutane for months and the office keeps prolonging the process. First it was issues with my iPledge. I told the office my account wasn't set up but they told me it was fine. When my appointment came around one month later, the office finally discovered that my iPledge wasn't working. I had to redo my labs and wait another month to begin Acutane. I was charged for both appointments. When I finally had my appointment to begin treatment, I show up at my scheduled appointment time and the office tells me they canceled my appointment because my provider went home sick. They told me there was no way they could find anyone to see me at my scheduled appointment time. The woman at the office told me "Life just happens and we have to deal". When I go to my rescheduled appointment, I am finally prescribed Acutane, months later than intended. When the pharmacy went to fill my prescription, they couldn't because my iPledge account was still set by my provider to my original appointment date that the office canceled and the prescription window had closed. I called the office to resolve this issue. I was put on hold for minutes just to be told that someone else will call me to figure it out. When I confirmed with the woman that someone would get back with me, she responded, "yeah that's what I just said." I have been very displeased with the administration at this location. They do not pay attention to details and do not care about the inconvenience caused to patients. read more

I am giving 2 stars just in consideration to the health professionals who are not the problem in this clinic. Customers service deserves NO STARS. There is not a direct phone line to their respective offices. Every time you need to call them, expect it to be a whole day endeavor. You are commonly put on hold or if you prefer, you are placed on a call-back waiting list which might take hours to occur. If you want to navigate on their website, be aware of constant security alert pop-ups. In summary, deal with this group is not a pleasant experience. read more

One of the only dermatologist I've ever been to that doesn't have a 3+ month wait to get in. They do accept some insurance, simply call to confirm. Although, I switched insurance and they are no longer in-network for me, but I won't be going anywhere else. The receptionist are top notch - friendly, patient, kind. The waiting area is quiet, if you ever have to wait (though, this hasn't been my experience). Dr. Jessica Perkins is my go to - she is simply magnificent... she not only listens but she HEARS you. I really liked who I saw for over two years : Ashley Carrasquillo, CNP. She was great. This review is for the incompetency and lack of response from their administrative team. I have been waiting over two weeks for them to get a preauthorization form over to my insurance company. Something that I have no control over. I have called every single day (have to wait on hold for 10+ minutes every time) and they have the same bullshit answer "We'll look into it and call you back". Guess how many call backs I have received. Zero. I have emailed them twice. No response. Not even some autogenerated crap that they received my message. Again my doctor was good, but I'm tired of the amount of lazy incompetency in 2023. JFC. When did we, as a collective society, decide to set the BAR at the BARE MINIMUM??? I visited the office for my annual preventive check-up which is supposed to be free under my plan but they coded it differently on the bill so that I would have to pay a balance of $113. I'm gonna start this review out with if I could give a zero I would. By far the worst doctors office I've ever felt with. The communication is horrible, no one writes notes or relays messages. My ins even complained about them. The paperwork was a mess, I could never get anyone to answer the phone, it just rang and rang. Then when I did get a call back no one knew anything. Very frustrating. The Dr. was very unprofessional when she called me, her tone wasn't nice. Someone at that office made a mistake and no one would fess up to it. The insurance and pharmacy I was using I had talked to multiple times. All they needed was a signature and a prescription. But for whatever reason the doctors office couldn't get the paperwork right. I will not be returning to this location. Unorganized and very unprofessional. read more

I HIGHLY suggest seeing Jessica Perkins!! She is so amazing! So nice, personable, remembers small details, asks about your life to make you comfortable as well! This review is for Dr. Jessica Perkins who I am so grateful to have met. I was referred to Dr Perkins after multiple appts were rescheduled from another dermatologist and waiting for almost a year to get an appt for a mole check. I'm so glad they were able to get me in quickly because Dr Perkins discovered that one of my moles was malignant melanoma. She was amazing and called me from her mobile multiple times even on Christmas Eve and the day after Christmas. She added an appt to do my surgery on New Years Eve even though she is pregnant and had a wedding that night. She clearly cares immensely about her patients and I am incredibly thankful at the care she provided and how wonderful she and her staff are. read more
