We came from out of town this weekend and had an awesome experience here! It was a Sunday night so not super busy but the karaoke is 7days/week. Our family was one of the only groups on the karaoke side of the bar for a bit, and our bartender JR was absolutely amazing. He sang some songs himself (we were impressed!) and made sure our every need was met while we were there. We had planned on ending the night at another bar after stopping for a drink here and decided to stay because it was such a great time. He was so attentive and friendly with us, it was an experience we'll never forget. Drinks were delicious and the service was even better. Thank you JR and Mom's Place for showing us a great time! Earlier this week, I gave this place a lukewarm warm review, which I'll delete. On Friday, I signed up for karaoke and was 12th on the list. Long story short, after not being called after 15 songs, I periodically asked my place on line and was repeatedly told lies, "You're next." After more than 30 songs, it was finally my turn. The karaoke host was deliberately giving me inaccurate reports, and it was quite frustrating. The owner responded to my review and explained that folks would tip the karaoke host to cut online. Apparently, this was known exclusively through Word Of Mouth. I did not know. So, I visited again on Tuesday when there was karaoke with a live band. It was run far better. You use your phone to get the list of available songs. At the bottom of that page, it discloses that if you Venmo the band $20, you can cut the line. Also, the band would regularly announce a new singer and say "we have another person to cut the line." Could not have been more forthright and honest. Respect. When I signed up with the live band, they were 57 singers listed. So, now that I knew the rules, I sent more than the $20 and was up next. I suppose they go with whoever tips the most. The "game" is a lot fairer when everyone knows the rules. I would definitely visit this place again. And, now, with this review, you know the written and unwritten rules so you can tell whether or not it is the place for you. And, I'd suggest to the owner that the bar let all karaoke singers who use recorded music know the rules too. To be honest, all that host had to say to me was "You're number 12 now, but if tips come in, that'll change." I'd give 5 stars if he hadn't repeatedly lied to my face, repeatedly saying, "You're next" and another 5 songs would go without me being called. I just can't stand liars. read more

Chill Vibes & Good Times! I've only been here a few times (everything from happy hr to late night drinks and Karaoke) but I love this bar and will keep coming! It's very chill/down to earth (has Cheer's Vibes), not your typical night-clubby bar (which depending on what you're looking for is either a huge pro or huge con). I even go solo sometimes for drinks after work and have almost always had enjoyable convos with fellow patrons and have witnessed many bartenders giving out-of-towers good tips on places to go and enjoy! Good for: Relaxing after work Being social/meeting new people Girls night (start or end here, or spend the whole evening doing Karaoke!) Ps. yes, drinks are pricey, but not really anymore so than anywhere else in Chicago (yes, 12-18-ish is a normal price range for most cocktails, so just deal with it or don't go out). Kitchen can be "slow" but they're up front about that and it's a small kitchen and everyone's working hard so just relax and put in a food order early, it's not that hard! This is not a fast food place so if you need to be in and out for dinner in 40min, this might not be your best bet...but the point of the bar (IMO) is to be able to take it slow and enjoy drinking, making new buddies, and munching on food! read more

This was our first bar spot on our vacation in Chicago. It was close to our hotel and I saw some pretty cool Christmas decorations from outside so we decided to stop by later that night. It was our first time seeing karaoke with a live band. You don't see that in Miami really. It was such a fun vibe. The band was great and the karaoke singers were entertaining to say the least. It was a cozy spot to have drinks, hear some music, and watch drunk women with zero rhythm dance along. It was hilarious. I definitely recommend this spot. Fun times! read more

Song list was limited and mainly consisted of white ppl music (no offense meant by that, diversity would be nice but if not whatever) and the set up was completely haphazard. I do a lot of karaoke, all over the world in fact, this is the only place I've ever been that I did not get to sing after waiting for multiple hours. KARAOKE with the band ends at 1230 and there is a $10 drink minimum, the drinks are $9 both of which is not posted anywhere. Don't waste your time or money here. I was only in Chicago for 2 nights and wasted an entire night here, really disappointing. I went to this place too many times on a recent trip. The upstairs is karaoke starting at 9pm, on the middle floor is a live band and downstairs was a pool table and a quieter vibe. So basically if you are looking for something to do, you could come here. It was pretty crowded on both a Wednesday and a Thursday. We were there around 7 pm with family, having a nice night with few people in the bar where out of no where one of the bouncers - Keith Stables - started to pick a fight with one of the men in our group. We tried to calm down the situation but instead, the other two employees were in our face. Keith proceeded to PUSH one of the women down the stairs. At each point we tried to deescalate, Keith was in our face. He called me a bitch multiple times and was just shy of hitting me. This was completely uncalled for, unjustified, and out of no where. All staff were escalating the situation more and more. It was very crazy at 7 pm with staff that made the entire situation horrific. The way they treated women was scary and terrible. Then when I spoke with the GM, he was dismissive and victim shaming. This was extremely disgusting and I would never go here again. read more

Super fun spot for drinks and karaoke. The decor is really cute with Christmas lights all over the main bar. There's a downstairs section with board games and entertainment. At the main bar they had a live band playing, and in the back they have karaoke. The karaoke space is a good size where you have enough room without it being so big that the karaoke gets less intimate. They have a huge selection of songs (my friends and I literally sang the theme song of The Last Unicorn from like 1982 and no one knew it but that's their loss).
