I then went to Elizabeth's Tailoring. She does alterations out of her home. She's a very nice woman and super easy to work with. She was also way more affordable than Tyla's. Elizabeth's Tailoring charged me $400 for my dress alterations to have it hemmed (6 layers of skirt and tulle); taking it in on top and redesigning the top a little bit to fit me better, which included removing lace florals and sewing them back on; adding a bustle; altering the back to cover a little more skin; and steaming the dress. Tyla quoted me at $1000 to start, so this was much better. I came to her kind of late (a month to spare) and she got it done timely and beautifully. I was very happy with everything. Plus, she is just so nice and easy to work with and makes you feel comfortable.

Needless to say, I was stressed. On February 7th, I found this family-owned business on Google and Yelp and decided to give them a call. I spoke with Hussein, explained my situation, and he immediately reassured me that they could help. He and his father met with me that same day, assessed the dress, and quickly came up with a plan. The dress we chose was ready the very next day -- I couldn't believe it! I also decided to have it hemmed slightly to better match my height, and once again, it was completed within just a couple of days. I wore the dress on the 21st for the wedding, and it was absolutely beautiful and so comfortable. I received so many compliments! On top of their incredible turnaround time and quality work, their pricing was very fair and honest -- especially considering how last-minute everything was. Horrible customer service. dropped off an external body armor vest carrier to have patches stitched…read moreon. not a big deal, or so I thought. came the next day to pick it up only to find out he had stitched all the way through the vest, in a way that does not allow me to insert my plates in the carrier. I apologized as I realized I did not explain it the day prior and I showed him what I needed there. He looks at it and says "no problem". takes it to his table, works on it for a couple minutes and calls me over to look. He did the exact same thing as the first time. I explained to him again what I needed, which caused him to look visibly upset at me. The guy then yells at me and says it's going to be an extra 10 bucks. I did not appreciate that he was willing to charge me more than I had already paid for his mistake. if he would of told me the first time it was going to be 10, I would have been more accepting of it. The worker then began arguing with me when I said I was going to go somewhere else. Very rude guy, will never return to him. Luckily there was another alteration place inside the Rio Rancho Mall.
