We were arranged to use Momper Insulation through our general contractor who is handling some home improvements for us. We got insulation blown into the attic of the house and over the attached garage. The access to the main attic is in the master bedroom's closet ceiling. Through the course of the time they were here, I went up to get something and saw they had some of the old batting insulation just leaning up against the wall next to my bed without anything being covered. My husband, who works from home, also saw this and asked them to remove it and they said "yah, we'll get it all out before we're done". No sense of urgency. No respect for the fact that people SLEEP 2 feet from this large piece of insulation. They didn't wrap any of old insulation before carting it through the house. If I hadn't thought ahead and put up old sheets to cover most of our clothes, they absolutely wouldn't have done anything to protect the area. I say this with certainty because they did not put up one piece of drop cloth, inside the closet, nor down on the floors, nor did they bother to even minimally clean up the bits of insulation they left EVERYWHERE. I have two young kids, one of whom has asthma, and for over a week, I was cleaning up bits of pink insulation and vacuuming and re-vacuuming everything. I didn't sleep in my room for more than a week, trying to make sure it was clean enough to be safe. Every square foot of my home where they were, had bits of insulation. It's been almost a month since they did the job and I am still finding it places. I'm furious! The piece of board that covers the access has insulation visibly sticking out around the edges!! And to top it off, they didn't say a word when they were leaving. None of the usual 'here's what we did, we'll invoice you, do you have any questions" as is typical for any workers you have in your home. We just noticed that their truck wasn't in the driveway anymore and they didn't come back.
The ONLY good thing I can say is that the insulation is really doing well keeping the summer heat out of the house, but that would be true no matter who installed it. read more
