In 2016 we built an outdoor cabana and contracted Mike Rosian owner of MJR Decks to do the outside work. He created a masterpiece and we utilize this outdoor paradise all the time. Mike guided us from design to finish and worked with us to ensure we built the exact layout we wanted. Eric was honest and made some helpful suggestions to improve on our garage ventilation. The crew showed up as scheduled and there was lots of them. The pre-job preparation to catch any rogue nails and small shingle pieces was excellent. After removing the old roof, it was found we had two 8x4's with rot from water damage and had them replaced. I believe lesser companies might have reinstalled right over those bad boards? By early evening the entire job was finished including clean up. The new roof looks great. It will take awhile to see if Haynes Construction did a great job but my initial impression is that we chose the right company. Fully licenced and insured.

I own the house and it is not a rental. His second statement was he was not sure how he could sue me for non payment if I am not resident of IL. Really poor business ethic and style. I was very clear from first call through final step that I owned the house, lived out of state, and it was not a rental. Not sure what this companies bias is but not very in honest clear communication.

Even though we're on our first home, we learned early to appreciate a good contractor. With Brian…read moreand Exterior Design Plus, we found one. We have only ever had to call them twice, but both times were extremely pleasant experiences. The first was when we were a few weeks from closing on our home in west Kankakee. Our general home inspection found some damage but it wasn't clear what, or how bad the damage was. Not knowing what to do or if we could deal with it later, we tried calling Exterior Design Plus. It was by far the least painful and most rewarding experience in the entire process of closing on the house. They confirmed what we knew, and even uncovered other damage that was causing issues in the attic so the previous owner could put in a covered claim. They worked with us, our realtor and the previous owner to get us a brand new roof! The Exterior Design Plus team was in and out in less than a day and we didn't have to do a thing. Even if they didn't go out of their way to help justify the damage with insurance, the final price we saw was well within the range we were expecting. I can't explain over a review the satisfaction and peace of mind that comes with arriving to your first home with a new roof. It was the best part of seeing our house for the first time knowing that they stand behind their work and not having to worry about leaks or whether there might be hidden damage. The second time I had them out was for a smaller job but just as rewarding. I forgot to clean the gutters for 16 months (since we moved in) and found water pooling on the side of our home. By the time I made it up there, I found one of the downspouts was totally blocked. Not knowing where to turn, I called again. Brian, the owner, stopped by and gave me quick 15 minute lesson in gutter maintenance so I could finish the work myself (thank you Brian!). Being that our house is over 50 years old, I'm sure I'll be needing at least a few more repairs. Having someone who not only does quality work, but also is willing to help you learn how to take care of your home, is rare. So when the time comes, I'll be going back to them as a happy customer.

I had a fairly serious electrical problem that required the replacement of the disconnect at the electric meter. Price looked high to me at first, but in researching the issue, the $2,575 was on the lower side for such work. Still, I decided to get a few more quotes. What a mistake. Of the 12 electricians I contacted only 6 returned my call. Four didn't show up, one told me my entire system was shot and needed to be replaced, and one just played games. I contacted Jay on May 19. He fit me in his busy scheduled for May 20 and 21. It was about an 8 hour job over two days. The work is professional. My disconnect was an old "fuse type" that was badly rusted and a fire hazard. Some wires were hanging unnoticed and could have been an electrocution hazard. Jay handled the project with professionalism, knowledge, and found the right electrician to handle the job. I don't mind paying what is a fair price for an excellent job.
