Out of all the things I wanted to purchase this summer, a roof was not on the list. So the thought…read moreof roofing my lake house was a bitch from the start. After receiving a few quotes, a friend introduced us to JE Roofing. The quote was reasonable, the customer service fantastic and their references all checked out. The roof is completed and I am soooo happy we went with JE Roofing! The project was seamless. Their crew was amazing and my roof looks great. There were no surprises and everything went off without a hitch. JE's crew came up from Lansing to roof my Wisconsin house. Its about 90 minutes away so they stayed in the area until the project was fully completed. They worked hard and long and I actually missed them when they left. But I know that I will see them again because I have a leak in my Chicago roof and I wouldn't trust anyone else to fix it. It was 10k plus project, on a steep roof, with multiple peaks and the only thing that got damaged was a motion light. Not bad, I'm actually impressed! JE Roofing is one of the few contractors that I've hired over the years that actually fixed more than they eff'd up! LOL but true. I would not hesitate to work with them again or refer them. IMAGE TIP: Its hard not to write a review and not include an image tip since I am an image consultant, so... JE hit it right down the the shirts they wore. Watching them work in their orange company t-shirts added to their professionalism as a company and as a crew. But, of course, I didn't mind when they took them off and exposed a little muscle:) Hey, image consultant aside - I'm still a woman!

He then sent his tech out (who charged me again) who specializes in gas fireplaces. The tech told me the cleaning wasn't done thoroughly, and did a thorough cleaning job (showed me how dirty is was after initial visit). He was very professional and knowledgeable. As he was leaving the issue appeared again. He stated I needed a new part and that I should hear back with a quote within a day. It has now been 8 weeks, multiple calls/text messages (15+) and I still do not have a cost estimate on the new part. Bottom line I'm $300 dollars in the hole and the problem hasn't been fixed.

They honored their quote, they gave us options, and the final product shows! I do not understand any of the bad comments - seems like they are from competitors trying to drive this family business down. Or people with zero patience. I spoke with the owner again today to bring them back for more work. Everyone who sees all the remodeling we did comments first on the chimney - every time. And after 2-3 years since the remodel, the owner remembers me and the home and the project. You just don't see that anymore.

They sent a kid who tells me the issue may be a cracked heat exchange & carbon monoxide leaking because I told him I had gotten dizzy before he arrived. Instead of telling me at that point he doesn't have the proper equipment to detect a CO leak he runs out to his work truck several times looking for equipment he knew he did not have. When he finally comes clean about not having the equipment he needs, he says for me to call the Fire Dept. because they have the equipment. I'm foolishly thinking YOU ARE A HEATING REPAIR COMPANY if you don't have the equipment someone in your company should right? WRONG!! I called the owner who tells me they tell all of their customers in an instance like this to call the Fire Dept. Owner proceeds to say, because the kid drove here, spent 45 minutes removing screws which he should not have & feeding a camera with as the kid put it, "not very good picture" in the furnace he earned the fee. Kid told me furnace had rust. I had to call a reputable company and the Fire Dept. who both confirmed no CO. Real repair guy says there is no crack and showed me pictures of inside furnace with NO RUST. Thank God furnace is running properly. Not only did these guys make off with $141 of my money but had nerve to say once Fire Dept. comes out call them back, here is your call back!!!

The office reached out to me to schedule about a month after I accepted the bid, with a date/time advised by them. Installer came at chosen time, only to state he could not go on roof due to snow. He then rescheduled and returned however halfway into the job, he needed a longer drill bit so called for another installer to bring it. No 2 came and advised that there was no need to "cut the rafter" which was news to me and no need for a longer drill but that another piece of tunneling needed to be ordered. 1st installer returned about a week later with 3rd installer only to state "it might be too cold to get up on the roof today" His helper then stated no, we can do it and a couple of hours later job done. That night the night light in the tunnel was flickering so we gave it another night to charge only to have an overnight disco in our tunnel! NSS contacted and 2nd "no don't cut the rafter installer" returned to remove the nightlight to take it and "have a fiddle with it" to see if he could fix it-a new product should not need repairing! Last night it flickered again however I am not dealing with another visit from NSS- my husband can take a look at it. All in all, not a good experience and I wish I had gone with a different company due to the disorganization and mixed messaging from NSS installers.
