With errands and grocery shopping ahead of me, I decided to stop in for lunch. Unfortunately, this wasn't quite the Thai dining experience I had anticipated. My first surprise? I walked into what appeared to be two restaurants operating under one roof: DJ Thai and Bella Fusion. Instead of a focused Thai menu, I found myself surrounded by what felt like half a dozen menus. Thai, sushi, Latin-inspired dishes, breakfast, brunch, cocktails. You name it, they seemed to have it. It reminded me of The Cheesecake Factory. And while variety can be wonderful, I've always believed that doing a few things exceptionally well beats trying to do everything. What caught my attention, however, wasn't just the number of menus. It was the inconsistent pricing. As I compared them, I noticed similar dishes listed at different prices, along with Thai offerings on the Bella Fusion menu that weren't on the DJ Thai menu. That's confusing for a guest and doesn't inspire confidence. I ordered the green curry with tofu and vegetables, accompanied by jasmine rice. I typically prefer pork in my green curry, but that wasn't an option. The curry was fine. It had the spicy kick I enjoy, and the flavor was pleasant, but the vegetables were a little mushy and the sauce wasn't quite the color or consistency I associate with a great Thai green curry. Nothing terrible, but nothing memorable either. The restaurant itself has some lovely design elements. The marble-look tables, attractive lighting, and fresh pink flowers were nice touches. I appreciated those details. Unfortunately, the overall atmosphere didn't match the setting. There were boxes and items visible that looked as though they belonged in a storeroom. The dining area felt somewhat disorganized, and a group who appeared to be associated with the restaurant was eating outside pizza at one of the tables. I can't know their circumstances, but as a guest, it contributed to an atmosphere that felt more like a casual gathering space than a professionally managed dining room. My server was pleasant and handled both hosting and serving duties. No complaints about her personally. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy during my visit, and there was outdoor seating available. Ultimately, the experience came down to focus, consistency, and value. I didn't feel the food or atmosphere justified the price, and the conflicting menus left me questioning what this restaurant really wants to be. I may give another DJ Thai location a try, preferably one dedicated to Thai cuisine. But I wouldn't return to this particular location. Life is too short not to eat well. Get out there, explore, and find your next memorable meal. Unfortunately, this wasn't mine.

This is a ubiquitous Indian dish, and of course okra is common throughout the tropics globally, but I'd never seen this offered at a Chinese restaurant before. And the rapid cooking technique typical of the cuisine produced a delightfully crisp vegetable, which went great with a black bean sauce and some very hot dried chilis. On the other hand, their interpretation of ma po tofu had some fermented broad beans but minimal vegetables (sometimes you get mushrooms or peas or at least some leeks or something) and no numbing sensation.
