If you want to grocery shop then get authentic Korean food without having to drive somewhere else this the place to go. The service was fast and they have many good korean dishes to choose from. The staff was also super nice. If you eat here, they have a place you can sit as well as a place to put your shopping cart while you eat.

Stopped here recently for the first time, expecting a good, authentic bowl of beef bibim. Turns out they're only doing takeaways so it came in a flat foam box, but it came out quickly (no reason for bibim to take ages, though). Ultimately, I feel that Korean food in general doesn't translate terribly well as takeaway meals. But this was a respectable bibim although I almost choked on the chili sauce despite sprinkling barely any of it. Toppings were well seasoned and thank God for no fillers like lettuce or broccoli! I'm not sure if this meal was a great value and it left me wanting more, but I'm sure it would be better if it was possible to dine in instead. I hope they keep doing well.

If you've been shopping at Super G then you probably have seen Korean Restaurant at the back of the store. Today I decided to try out the food since I was there and I'm a big fan of Korean dishes. Firstly, the menu selection is decent and they have all the main Korean favorites that you'd find at a standalone restaurant. Something to consider is that they're dine in seating is closed so you have to take your order to go which was disappointing. I ordered the Bulgogi which is one of my favorites with a side of white rice and kimchi. The Bulgogi was decent, it had good flavor but the portion size was small considering the price of the food. I was expecting the food to be better and considering that it's in an Asian supermarket you'd think so but again it was decent. If you're new to Korean food and wanting a great experience then there are better options. If you happen to be in the area and really want Korean flavor then Korean Restaurant isn't a bad option.

Good Korean Food. The service was quick and easy. The only downside is the seating, it's located in an international store so the dining area is shared with other restaurants. It's sort of like a food court. Nonetheless, delicious.

The best Korea food we've had in Charlotte was at the Super G Mart! Definitely going back. My husband and I shared the Bibimbap since we weren't that hungry and it was great! Got the daikon radishes also and loved that it came in a hot pot. Will definitely be back.

Located inside Super G Supermarket on Independence Blvd. They serve some comforting Korean foods, not too many menu items though. The taste is really mediocre and lacks flavor. The kalbi is $22, comes with a small side shredded cabbage with thousand islands dressing and a bowl of rice. It's way over priced. It only has 3 strips of thin cut short ribs. The black bean noodles is almost flavorless. Service was friendly and quick. It's food court style.

I've been wanting to try Korean food again and decided to try the Bibimbap with the egg on top. Not so much into a runny egg but wanted to give it a go. The runny egg still isn't my favorite but I ate everything anyway. The bulgogi was delicious and the chili sauce wasn't hot which was nice). I love wontons and dumpling so I was interested jn a soup. They suggested Tteokguk (Dduk guk) soup which is a New Years tradition that brings longevity and prosperity. The soup was good with some extra salt added. I loved the rice cakes. Chewy fun texture. Friendly and knowledgable staff.

    No. 11 - Dolsot Bibimbap
    Birdie N.

I was worried moving from Northern Virginia that I'd struggle to find authentic korean dolsot bibimbap - was happy to find it today! It was a bit pricey at first but then realized how large the portioning was and didn't feel as bad about it. I liked how they added kimchi on the side as well - not as nice as larger korean restaurants back home where they give you a plethora of banchan however given that it was a food court-style shop it was appropriate. Would love to come here again - this order was No. 11. I didn't get a drink because it was all canned so just got tea from the next store shop and it worked out! The hot stone bowl was just hot enough to give me some crunchy rice which was awesome. Looking forward to my next visit :)

The first time I went to the food court the Korean Restaurant was closed, I think it was a Monday but I'm not definite so check before you go there. You wouldn't want to miss it. The hot meals are really good and amply portioned. The food is delicious. The "to go" sides were tempting. The only fault, and it's more my fault than theirs, is my unfamiliarity with the dishes left me somewhat baffled as to what to try and what dishes are good to reheat at home. I definitely plan on returning and experimenting with new dishes.

I could make a Korea out of reviewing Korean places. This is a cute little underestimated undiscovered Korean gem inside the international supermarket in Charlotte, known as G-Mart, not to be confused with H-Mart or GTFO Mart. You can get your delicious Korean soups and stable dishes - I mean staple dishes, unless you're a horse - here for very competitive prices, because they don't have to pay for an actual restaurant. Very much recommended.

We came in on a weeknight at dinner time with no reservation, so we had to sit at the bar (which was just fine). The space is very upscale but comfortable. Service was impeccable. The bartender (Kevin?) was engaging and attentive, as were others working behind the bar. They make you kind of feel like regulars, and that vibe led to good conversations with other patrons. The drink menu is impressive, with the usual classics but also many variants on them; all of which sounded really good. My business partner had the Ube Sour. The flavors, including Sweet Potato powder, where unique and really good. I had a Vesper that was prepared perfectly. Pricing on the wines by the glass were very good and the selection was excellent. My business partner had the Seafood Pasta with squid ink spaghetti. He loved it and the spicy tomato sauce. There was plenty of perfectly cooked seafood. I had the roasted Sea Bass with Broccolini. So good! But what really got me was an add-on side of Seafood Mashed Potatoes. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was wonderful enough to be an entree by itself. Shrimp and Langostinos in an incredible cream sauce over buttery mashed potatoes (see pic). Desserts were also excellent. My business partner had what I think was a coconut crema, which he loved. I had two scoops of house made ice cream (vanilla and pistachio) with berries; also very, very good. I mentioned attention to details at the start. An example of this watching staff behind the bar polishing glasses. Polishing, not just washing. I watched one person spend almost 5 minutes polishing a single champagne class; constantly checking it for spots before putting in on the shelf. That's attention to detail!

There were a few worthy entrants, but after reading reviews and looking at photos, I decided Red Sea would be the place I go to experience these new flavors. Located along Monroe Rd in a stand-alone building painted green and blue, the restaurant definitely appears a bit dated but to me that adds to the charm. I don't think any everything to be shiny and new, I'll go for tried and true when it comes to local restaurants. I went in on a weekday between lunch and dinner, so it was pretty quiet, but I noticed in addition to a fine looking bar, they have a small stage which suggests they sometimes host musical acts. I'd love to come back during one of their busy periods so I can get a better sense of the vibe, but on this particular day I was there solely for the food. The only thing I knew going into this experience is that Ethiopian food is typically served on a large piece of bread which I've come to learn is called injerna. The bread is a sourdough and has a spongy texture. Now I wanted to try different things so I got a combo platter that came with chicken, lamb, veggies, and a hard boiled egg as well. When they serve it, it comes with another piece of injerna and the idea is that you use the second one to tear away pieces and pick up your food with it. I confess that I tried my best to eat it the authentic way, but eventually I found myself getting frustrated and asked for a fork. Like chopsticks I'm sure it takes practice. The platter is a was massive, an absolute feast that could easily feed two people. I loved it, but eventually had to get a to go box. It was ambitious to take that on by myself. Overall my first experience has me hooked and I want to try more. I can't speak to the authenticity, but people in the city seem to rate this place very highly so I think that speaks for itself.

Red Sea provided exactly the type of experience I wanted, including decor, atmosphere, friendliness, and of course the food. In the background, behind a door on the side of the restaurant, there was a second area where you could hear people playing snooker. At one point in the evening, the woman who seated and served us also roasted coffee beans at a little station in the corner, then she walked around so that the smell penetrated the entire restaurant like incense. What a cool thing, and something I've never experienced at any other Ethiopian restaurant previously. It's such a simple thing, you'd think it would be more common. The food was, of course, delicious. You could order individual foods or combo platters, and the combo platters were very well explained. This was one of the few Ethiopian restaurants I've visited which included beets on the menu both in the vegetable platter and as a side. Each person gets one gigantic piece of injera, so little worry of running out (there is a charge for extra). Tej is available by the bottle and glass, and several brands of beer are available. I would classify Red Sea as a hidden gem and definitely a place to dine.

That's exactly what drew me to The Southern Pecan in SouthPark. Here in the South, they call it country fried steak, and I'm happy to report this one did not disappoint. I met a colleague there for lunch, and everything about the experience felt easy from the start. The restaurant is located in Phillips Place, a lovely little shopping area that feels a bit polished and upscale--with shops like Orvis, Tory Burch, and even a Restoration Hardware restaurant nearby. They do offer valet parking, which is a nice touch, though honestly parking is easy enough on your own. We had reservations through OpenTable and were seated on the patio, which was absolutely delightful for this time of year in Charlotte. The weather was perfect, the setting was relaxed, and the service started off warm and welcoming right away. Now, the food. The country fried steak was beautifully cooked--crispy on the outside, tender inside, and served with creamy mashed potatoes and gravy that hit all the nostalgic notes from my Texas upbringing. I paired it with a vegetable side (I believe it was broccoli or corn), and it was a classic Southern plate done right. We also enjoyed a couple of cocktails, and to finish, we split a praline bread pudding, which felt like the perfect Southern ending to the meal--sweet, comforting, and indulgent without being overwhelming. The staff was friendly and attentive, and one of the things I continue to appreciate about Charlotte is how easy it is to connect with people. We even chatted with diners at nearby tables, which added to that welcoming, community feel that makes dining out here so enjoyable--especially for someone coming from the Bay Area. Prices felt fair for the quality, the setting, and the portion sizes, and overall the experience left a great impression. Bottom line: If you're craving a solid Southern classic like country fried steak--or just want a relaxed patio lunch in a charming part of SouthPark--The Southern Pecan is definitely worth a visit. And as someone happily eating my way through Charlotte and the Southeast, this stop was another reminder that the journey has been a delicious one.

It was already quite busy when we arrived and it's not clear where your parking options are. People are pulling up to the entrance and dropping people off so it gets jammed up and chaotic, of course people are running late so those BIG Yukons and Suburbans are making it a challenge to navigate a small entrance area. You would THINK they would at least have a Valet option of Sat/Sun during Brunch. To park, go BEHIND the restaurant on the street to the left and you'll see some free parking options that are close and walkable. We asked for a table on the patio and were immediately seated. The bar was already buzzing with solo diners enjoying their Mimosas. The patio is NOT that big, a little over crowded and table are very close with not much space in between. There was a LARGE group of 'FUN' ladies right beside us enjoying their MIMOSAS, dropping the 'F' bomb from time to time and making a LOT of noise. What can you do? Nothing but try to make the best of it and just start talking LOUDER like everyone else. The OVERHEAD heaters were way too intense so the Staff was very responsive at our request to turn down the heat. We shared the BBQ Shrimp Starter which was SO good, I highly recommend. I had the Gumbo and Michelle had the beet and goat cheese salad. We both had the Red Fish which comes with smashed potatoes and broccoli. The potatoes were so BLAND, the broccoli had NO seasoning. The Red Fish wasn't that great of a flavor and not very tender, not easy to cut, had to use my knife at times to get a bite. Kinda disappointed, I lived in N Orleans for a couple of years and it was always so good there. The biggest disappointment was the Gumbo. It had all the right ingredients but the ROUX was to strong, dark and heavy. It actually gave me indigestion afterwards. The service was OUTSTANDING. Our Server was Daylean, she was so nice and helpful with the menu and kept our refills coming.

After driving around trying to find a Mexican Restaurant for Cinco de Mayo and seeing lines after…read morelines, we decided to just go to Bonefish as there's always options for everyone. So glad we did! Our server was very friendly and accommodating. She even got the kitchen to agree to make me bang bang chicken tacos instead of shrimp as I don't eat a lot of seafood. Their portion sizes are definitely worth the price. They have a great wine pour as well! Definitely will be back.

Huge kudos to my amazing husband for wrangling six whole couples for dinner at Bonefish Grill…read more While our large group had a slight delay getting seated, I can honestly say: The food, nice ambiance and drinks made the wait completely worth it! You won't find cocktail photos because our Pineapple Martini and the Rosé Martini barely lasted a minute. I requested my trout be topped with the Crab Imperial (which includes shrimp!) This was paired with a side of mashed potatoes--a must-try combination. Our table's biggest hits were the Parmesan Crusted Cod and the melt-in-your-mouth Sea Bass. Even the Bang Bang Shrimp (we requested a light toss!) lived up to its legendary status, and those new Chicken Egg Rolls are a delicious starter. One friend said the Shrimp Scampi was just "OK," but everything else was a resounding success! Highly recommend Bonefish Grill for a fun, delicious night out. By the way the team was great they worked together to ensure our night out was a success. Thank you!
