This is a little hidden gym. It's in a strip mall and yes, it is little but wow if you like Japanese food, this is it. They even have my son's favorite spicy chicken wings and I could go there just for that they're delicious but we also like the yakisoba and many other dishes. We haven't been disappointed yet. read more

Service 1. Takes forever to get food 2. Portion size 3. The only good thing is the view of the Superstition Mountains other than that the parking lot 4. Sushi was fresh but expensive for the portion. read more

It's been several years since we've swung by here but it's really worth the stop. It's just a great place to come if you're missing simple Japanese food delivered by the nicest people you would hope to encounter. The interior of the restaurant is very basic but I didn't mind once I had my teriyaki chicken donburi. It's just chicken glazed with teriyaki on a bed with rice but it hits just right. The only thing that would improve it would be the option to add some steamed vegetables. I even got to relive my memories of drinking melon soda in Japan by ordering their melon cream soda. It wasn't quite the same, but still good. More than anything, the two considerate servers made our visit very pleasant. read more

I hadn't been back here for a while, but my previous experiences were always positive. I don't eat a lot of sushi, so I can't really speak to that aspect of their menu. Typically, I come for rice bowls and I had the gyudon this time. The rice was sticky yet fluffy and the beef was thinly-sliced, very tender and lightly seasoned with a little pickled ginger on top. My bowl was enjoyable and the staff were so friendly and helpful -- my wife used the word "kind" to describe them. It is more expensive than getting a bowl at one of those places in the food court where they scoop the prepared rice and meat from a bin, but it is also a lot better. Note that the place does not look like much and it is quite tiny. There were a lot of take-out orders serviced while we were there and it appears that some people come for their large sake selection. I'll be back soon. read more

I would say Momo no Hana is one of the better Japanese restaurants in the Phoenix Metro area. It's a small quaint restaurant, the outskirts of Phoenix. They offer a wide selection of Japanese dishes and have a wonderful staff. I opted to order many side dishes and Nigiri for one person: Soft Shell Crab: pretty good, lightly fried and juicy crab **Daikon Salad: a must-have, this dish brings a fresh, light flavor to the table Unagi: regular unagi Karaage: an incredible disappointment...it's just balls of chicken that look like they came from a frozen package If you're in the area, I recommend checking it out. read more

Very happy with the daikon salad (very fresh) and miso soup. The mixed tempura was delicious, crispy but not greasy. The authentic Japanese music helps with the atmosphere. The service was friendly. This restaurant is tucked in the back corner could be overlooked or missed. Don't let that happen. The food is worth it. read more

I ordered agekake, a fried tofu. I've tried making it at home but this was the authentic experience. Small portions but so filling. Miso soup was also great. I've been to Japan before and this was the closest flavor to the food I tasted there. They deserve a bigger restaurant because they're so busy and so good. It was a quaint and cute little restaurant. read more

This is a small, quiescent spot in an unassuming strip mall. They don't take reservations which I assume is because the place has such limited seating to begin with. They have lunch specials which really isn't that big of a discount considering it's still a $16 bento box. The nice thing about this "special" is that it gives you a wide variety of items to choose from to go with your rice and salad. It doesn't even come with miso soup like other places; it costs an extra $2 for that. I tried out their chicken cutlet and tuna roll. The tuna roll wasn't that great and although the chicken cutlet was good, the sauce they poured all over it wasn't of good quality. The bento box comes with a lot of rice. The salad was tasty. I'd avoid appetizers as they give you so little for its price. Service was attentive and amiable. read more

Service was great only one other person in there, the miso soup was super yummy. Tried the famous Momo roll and honestly not a fan, something tasted off about it. Not sure I'd come back but worth trying! read more

Well it has been a few months since I have had an opportunity to visit this authentic Japanese restaurant. They surprised me this week with a unique dish call Torikawa Gyoza!!!! Basically instead of dumpling dough the chef uses chicken skin to wrap the dumplings and deep fry it. New this week and if you get the chance you have to get it!!! read more

When I went I had ordered a tempura shrimp roll, which was pretty pricey at $10 considering it was only a 6pc roll for something that wasn't so spectacular. Also, I ordered a teriyaki chicken donburi rice bowl which was $13. Which also wasn't so spectacular. To top everything off as I received my order I asked if I could have an extra side of teriyaki for my rice bowl. They expressed to me that they could add it on top of my bowl for me instead of just on the side. I said no thank you and the cashier went back to the kitchen and I could hear multiple employees laughing at me. She said she was asking the owner which means they were also laughing so I will not be coming back here. Do not recommend this place. read more

Everyone I take here has no complaints! Great restaurant and good view of the superstitions.

If I could put less than one star I would, however, it won't let you leave a review without putting at least one star. Definitely not impressed with this place. The portions were very small, and the sushi fish was not the freshest. I asked for ginger without wasabi on the same dish as I don't like wasabi. They charged me extra for that ginger. I told that I would not be coming back. They didn't seem to be impressed or care one way or the other. read more

The food was fresh and delicious. The service was fast. The restaurant is small but very clean and bright.

Great hidden gem. Wonderful Japanese food. Very few tables and very small.. but great food!

Food was great!!!! Pleasant staff. Normal prices for excellent Japanese cuisine. Small place with limited seating and it filled up soon after we arrived. I will be back!! read more

Came here for my wife's and my 35 wedding anniversary. Been here before and enjoyed it. But this time. It took 40 minutes to get service. The floors looked like they haven't been mopped in weeks. Staff as not very friendly. I don't know what happened. But I won't be coming back read more

The sushi was not that good. A 8 piece roll was cut from a Role that was about 4 1/2 in. We had an 6 piece that was the same length. The tempura calamari was not crisp. The soft shell crab was very small and also not crispy. That was 50$ that was not well spent. I will never go back. Just thought we would try someplace new. read more

With fair pricing, diverse menu, and authentic interior, this corner of the parking lot feels like a corner of Japan in the heart of Apache Junction. I can confidently reccomend this place for any item outside of their sushi (it was ok but- not anything to drive here for.) Push your pallet without pushing your wallet, this authentic Japanese comfort/bar food beat out others I've tasted in Mesa/Chandler/Tempe easily. Remember to tip your wait staff well, they're hard working and have genuinely amazing advice for what to try next! read more

This place is fantastic! The chicken katsu curry was amazing! By far one of the best curries I've ever had. Also, the gyu don was delicious. The sweet, thinly sliced beef was perfectly paired with rice and pickled ginger. Definitely coming back! read more

One of the best Japanese restaurants in Arizona! The place is unassuming and run by a very nice Japanese family. You walk in and seat yourself. The food was excellent. I had to get okonomiyaki because this is the only place in Phoenix that serves it (many places here stopped offering it). The curry rice with karaage chicken was on point. They probably make the best katsudon in the valley. Some items people mentioned on Yelp are no longer on the menu, like the ebi fry curry rice. You can find the current complete menu attached to my review. read more

This place is amazing. Best age goyza I've ever had. The waiter was so sweet. We drive 45 min to eat here so definitely worth it.

This place has never disappointed since it opened and is a little hidden gem in the corner of the plaza with minimal signage. Though you'd think a restaurant with minimal signal and in the corner would be a ghost town, it was far from it on a Wednesday evening! I initially was the only patron at 5:15pm, but within the hour I was there the whole dining room filled up. With great food that is freshly prepared at these prices, I can see why! Only $33 for two rolls, a teriyaki veggie bowl, a oolong tea, a dr. Pepper, and a Swiss roll for dessert!!! I try to eat more meatless meals if I'm able, and the service was great to review the menu and advise dishes that didn't have hidden fish paste, bone broths, etc. My selection of items was full of flavor and just amazing overall. Definitely somewhere that I can see myself frequenting and need to remember it's tucked away as it's often out of sight out of mind! If you are in the Apache Junction area, this is a must visit!!! read more

Sushi was delicious! Be warned, there's hidden fresh wasabi under the fish on their rolls and nigiri Was a surprise for us! Service was really slow and took a long time to get our food, water refills and the bill. Otherwise, it was a surprising tasty sushi spot in an unassuming location. read more

Food was decent but not as flavorful as I expected from online reviews or as large as of a portion as I would have expected for what I paid.

Was good food and good service. Very busy place and although packed wasn't too noisy, and was able to hear my comrades speak.

We have not been to Momo no Hana in a while. Ate there this evening. My husband & I ended up w/ a $50. bill, for two quite small portions of salmon, steamed veggies, an appetizer of edommomie, & two ice teas. Either we have to learn how to order, or they cut back on their portion sizes, which were very disappointing! :+( Also, my husband's salmon was rather dry. read more

When this restaurant opened I became a fan of their take on Japanese food. It's gone through some changes over the years but they still offer my favorite dishes. I know little about what authentic Japanese should be but I'm always happy. I even took a Japanese friend once and she was delighted with the selection available. Food is good good flavors and good cold beer Sapporo, eel roll, shrimp tempura roll and spicy salmon roll.

After seeing the high reviews, my husband and I checked this place out. The moment we walked in, the restaurant smelled odd- like a public restroom. Still, we stayed and I ordered sushi, and my husband ordered the yaki soba. It took almost a full hour for us to receive our food, and my meal came almost 15 minutes before my husband's. My sushi was edible but flavorless- and my husband's meal was funky tasting. The reason it gets 2 stars instead of 1 is because the staff was friendly. We will not be returning. read more

Old sewage smell as soon as you walk in. Hard to commit to ordering, but we were hungry. There's only 4 tables to sit at and a bartop counter. with roughly 6-8 seats. They were fairly busy, so the food took a while. We started with the fried gyoza. These were not bad, but nothing special. I got the chicken katsu don rice bowl, which was pretty good. My wife got the beef yakisoba, which she didn't enjoy (tasted like juniper? Something odd). These 3 menu items totaled over $40. They were nice, but the food was overpriced. read more

As described....back corner of the strip mall. No signs. 2 2 tops, 2 4 tops and 8 seats at the bar. We arrived at 4:45 and there was 1 table seated. Within 30 minutes all seats filled and a line forming! The owner was vibrant, grateful we were there and efficient. The food was fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. We opted for gyoza which was fried to perfection with a spicy dipping sauce, calamari fingers (not rings) and a selection of sushi rolls. Definitely delicious and a fun clandestine experience! We felt like we were in the know for an Apace Junction super secret! read more
