I luv this place. They are so quick for take out. The vibe is laid back and boasts a friendly atmosphere. The food is AMAZING. If not so spicy and more favorable than some Indian restaurants.

Tandoori Shrimp

A year ago I'd have given this restaurant 5 stars. Unfortunately, the quality has degraded considerably while the prices are $4-$5 higher than other Indian & Nepalese restaurants in the area. I'm not an authority on Nepalese and Indian food, but I've been to Nepal and South India a few times and have been ordering from Momo N Curry since it opened. Today's order had stale naan (which included garlic naan). They tasted like a day-old reheated. The Tandoori shrimp had several tiger prawns not cleaned properly (you can see giant disgusting streaks). The goat buthuwa was the only dish that was somewhat flavorful and decent. To make matters worse the portion sizes were smaller and the rice boxes were only about 3/4 filled. I understand commodity prices have gone up, but quality should never be sacrificed. I wouldn't mind paying for an excellent dish. Never going back and it pains me to ditch this business because I think it is family-owned and the staff is really nice.

Came here on a Friday evening for dinner and we were surprised how empty it was. However, as the evening went by there seemed to be people slowly trickling in. Also, alot of people getting takeout. The place is very spacious with interesting decor. Servers are very friendly and attentitive as well. We ordered the steamed veggie momo which came with some orange dipping sauce - pretty flavorful and not spicy. The momo dumplings were also a good size, enough to share between two people with another entree. We also ordered the paneer tikka masala - cottage cheese cubes in tikka masala sauce. This went well with the garlic naan. Their naan is also pretty good, a bit crunchy on the outside but still warm and chewy on the inside. Overall, pretty solid place to get some authentic nepalese food.

Been here twice and the food is always great! However we only do takeout but the flavor maintains and my favorite item is the aloo saag. We usually get garlic and regular naan and the pieces are HUGE. The chicken tikka masala is also very nice and saucy and doesn't have a watery consistency. Overall their service is great and the food is better, and I definitely recommend coming here! Their momo dumplings are also yummy :)

I used to love this place and ordered from here regularly. But during a recent order, the food arrived leaking and the containers were partially melted. While I understand that accidents can happen, what really disappointed me was the owner's response--rude and unprofessional, they blamed us instead of taking any responsibility. Completely unacceptable service. I won't be ordering from here again See picture of the melted box. Made me reevaluate if I was eating plastic letched in my food-given the box literally

Overall decent food and plenty of seating space to enjoy lunch/dinner. Really liked the fresh lemonade that they offered. Their chicken chowmein was my fav and momos were decent. The service was fast and we got our food in less than 10 mins after ordering.

The food is always amazing very consistently packed full of delicious flavors. They do a lot of togo orders but the dining room is comfortable and spacious. The bathrooms are nice and clean. The staff are very friendly and attentive. I would recommend giving them a try if you haven't already. My favorite is the butter chicken it's creamy and flavorful but the chicken curry and tikka masala are pretty great too.

A small bowl doesn't even get full!

I ordered food to go I came home and I can't believe I paid almost 100 dollars for the small amount of food they gave me, the to go containers are enough for one person, the rice boxes were filled half way, I'm shocked ! I could've gotten more food at any other places for that much! They are scammers and taking advantage of people I have eaten inside the restaurant and the amount of food is more than what I got to go! I am so pissed for what I paid I will be sure to contact the business bureau it's a scam!!

***3.5 Stars*** Tasty food and the lunch specials are great, but the service is definitely lacking. This spot has been on my radar for a bit. Tried them out for lunch and was really impressed with the flavors and spices. Walked in on a Monday afternoon and the place was virtually empty. There was nobody in the lobby when I entered, so I waited for a few minutes until a lady came out from the back. She motioned me to seat myself, so I did. She brought out some menus and I looked them over. I had looked at their website prior to coming in, and saw that they had lunch specials. Ironically, no lunch specials were listed on the menus that she brought me, and the lady didn't even know that the lunch special menu was listed on their website. I had to show her through my phone (make sure you ask about the lunch specials if you don't see them on the menu). I ordered a combo mix lunch with chicken tikka masala, shrimp curry, samosa, naan and rice. I also ordered a mango lassi. No water or utensils were brought to my table until I asked which was strange. Also, nobody checked on me until I was virtually done with my meal. The service was extremely flat. The good news is, the food was delicious. *Chicken tikka masala: Definitely the best item on the table! Super creamy tikka sauce that was well spiced. The chicken breast was tender. Really enjoyed this dish. *Shrimp curry: Very flavorful with a nice consistency. A thickish curry with plump shrimp. Could have been a bit spicier but that's just my personal preference. Otherwise, very tasty. *Samosa: Deep fried to perfection with a solid filling. The green dipping sauce was delicious. *Naan: Not a very thick piece of naan but it was still fluffy and come very buttery which I love. *Mango lassi - The perfect consistency and thickness. Would have liked it was cold since it tasted like it was room temperature, but it was still good. This lunch special was about $20 which isn't bad for two specialty entrees. You could go cheaper by getting just one entree lunch, but I wanted to try both and I'm glad that I did. Portions are adequate for the price. Not too much but also not too little. Aside from the service, I was actually quite impressed. Not sure if I'll dine in again anytime soon, but I would definitely considered them for takeout in the future.

The chicken tikka masala is the best I've ever had! Kids love the mango lassi and samosas too. Not a fan of the aloo gobi or saag though.

I ordered the butter chicken (which came with rice), goat curry (entrée only), spinach samosas, and two orders of garlic naan. Everything arrived well-packaged and still warm. The butter chicken was ordered medium spicy, but honestly it didn't taste spicy at all. That said, it was still very flavorful. The sauce was rich, creamy, and smooth with tender pieces of chicken throughout. Even without much heat, the flavor was on point and very satisfying over the rice. The goat curry was excellent. Deep, savory flavor with a nice thickness to the sauce. The only thing to note is that there are quite a few bones, which is typical for goat but something to be aware of if you're not used to it. If you don't mind working around bones, it's absolutely worth it. The garlic naan was really good, and they were generous with the portions. Soft, slightly chewy, and perfect for scooping up both curries. Two orders ended up being more than enough. The spinach samosas came as two large pieces. Even though it's only two, they're big and filling. Crispy outside with a flavorful spinach filling inside. Overall, I ordered all of this just for myself and ended up getting four full meals out of it. Great value for the price and everything tasted fresh and well-made. I would absolutely order from here again and look forward to trying more of their menu.

I'm not an authority on Afghan food so this is rated as an outsider…read more Overall the food can be summarized as: lightly seasoned, enjoy the simple flavors of each component, and Must use the sauces to complete the dish. I personally think everything needed some salt, but maybe it's meant to be this way. Highlight is most definitely the green sauce (yogurt and chili, not spicy), baklava (sweet sticky on the bottom and flaky crisp on top, not overly sweet), yogurt mint drink (dough). Shami beef and chicken kebab were juicy and not dry. Through a bit of miscommunication.. I was given the yogurt drink instead of the normal side of yogurt cucumber sauce for the meat, and was warned by Ali that some people don't like it since it's a yogurt drink with salt, but honestly it was great and was essentially a yogurt mint sauce I expect from other Mediterranean/Middle Eastern type places but more watery. So admittedly I just took sips of this while taking bites of the kebab and rice and it was pretty much the flavors I was looking for, but an extra step. Beef Mantu was another source of confusion since there are regular and homemade versions (I didn't realize). They made me the homemade version without confirming with me on the phone; no problem. It was filled with lightly seasoned beef and topped with interesting spices. Overall not bad not great, definitely needs sauce / salt. Too light in my opinion. And for $25 I wouldn't get again not worth it. The customer service from Ali was great. Knowing this was my first time he explained everything, offered to charge me less due to the miscommunications (I declined), and gave complimentary side of sauce and baklava as a nice gesture. Good food. I know how to order next time. Extra green sauce or yogurt drink all over.

Service was pleasant, and we received enough attention throughout the meal course. Great, open seating with the view on the Monument Boulevard, that was bright and comfortable. The outstanding Afghani food, and even better the desserts with saffron tea made this experience complete throughout. Would highly recommend Narunj Palow with thinly sliced dates. Turned out to be a little bit pricier than I thought it would be for a lunch, however, it really did worth it.

I've eaten @ naan and curry, all of the buffet, really good one in Oakland, the Himalayan restaurant near park and shop, curry bowl etc. But unfortunately while the staff and service of the food with the price of $60 for food, I'm not really impressed. You definitely get a lot to last 4 meals, and they were flavorful, but not the best Indian I would come back often. The curries might of been burnt a little as they both had the weird Smokey flavor. Maybe some will like it, but it's not winning me over. The restaurant does not look open ready. The front entrance where the pond was, is ripped out and is very empty.
