Ordered something else on Snackpass but they only realized they were out of it after about 10 mins or so. Lady at the counter was very apologetic and promised to make me the best chicken curry ever. I'm glad I got to try their chicken curry because it really reminds me of home (Singapore). I'm guessing the Nepalese way of cooking it is closer to the way Southeast Asians cook their food. The chicken was very tender and it came with potatoes and cucumber (maybe zucchini?). Serving of meat and rice was very generous, I only wish they gave more of the actual curry sauce. I've only been here once and I already love it. I have never encountered a more friendly and outgoing hostess in my life. She thanked me for reminding her that I was purchasing a drink in addition to my meal order and told me that sometimes it's easy for her to forget. After getting our food, she moved us to a larger table because she said that the one my friend and I were sitting at was too small. After making sure everything was great, she also talked to us about the students that come to the restaurant, and when we got up to return our plates she told us to leave them and that she would take care of it. We both ordered the chicken tikka masala and the curry was the best I've ever tasted. It was sweeter than others I've had, which I loved. The meal came with rice as well as several pieces of naan. I was surprised that it was a basket of naan rather than one piece, which is what I'm used to. Neither of us were able to finish everything we ordered so we took our leftovers home, which were just as good hours later. read more

Food was spicy, good, spicy, and did I mention good? Giant momos (dumplings) with lamb and a boiled egg inside is on point... especially with the side salsas that they provide. In a battle between exotic food and a personal favourite, exotic won. I wanted to order the chicken makhan and use it to judge the quality of the restaurant's food, but I ended up ordering Kongpo Shaptak instead after reading the description. Plus, I've never had Tibetan food, so I'm probably not the best yardstick for the honorary job of judging Tibetan food. Excellent choice, even though I still donno how this restaurant compares to Indian flavour express on Southside. The dish was beef sauteed with bell peppers with a little blue cheese. Not a fan of blue cheese while eaten alone, but here it gave a richness to the dish without overpowering anything. The beef was a chewable tough which I like a lot and haven't experienced in a long time. If you don't like it, then you are lazy or toothless. The meal came with jasmine rice, which is perfect because I don't like basmati. It was cooked perfectly and had a springy texture and good clumping character - things you don't get with basmati. There wasn't a lot of rice, so I got a garlic naan as well. The naan was on the thin and dry, crispier side, which while others here like, I wasn't a big fan of - but hey, got rice. The chai was complimentary, and wasn't overly spiced which is how I like it. The friendly staff made sure things were good, but their English was really limited. Next up, makhan and tingmo, unless the momo or gyathuk acts up. read more

First the con: -If you get a dish with naan, it'll could be pricier than other places around the area, but don't let that stop you from trying it at least once. Pros: - Food will seem simple, but taste great. I had one of the cream based chicken dishes with onion naan bread. Combining the three was fantastic. - The place feels much cleaner than most other places. - the service was great. They're courteous and patient. - The walls are decorated to make eating there feel like a cultural experience, which it might be for some people, and they're painted a perfect shade of orange- not too bright, but enough to make the atmosphere feel lively in contrast to the dullness that often accompanies other places. - There's also unsweetened hot milk tea that you can get after ordering your food. For anyone looking for a relatively simple, but heart-warming meal, I'd say this is a great spot. Definitely one of my favorite places on Northside so far. read more

I end up craving Momo Masalas and stopping by without fail every other week or so. I order the paneer chili every single time and it's amazing--huge blocks of paneer deep fried with bell peppers, onion, and chili. Just the right amount of savory and spicy, and the paneer is crisp on the outside and perfectly chewy and moist on the inside. TL;DR: decent/small portions, good curry flavor, friendly service I haven't really started looking into Northside food court and this is a location that stuck out to me on Yelp. Momo provides a really quick lunch with really nice service. If you're coming out of Soda or Cory, I think this is a great place to grab a quick bite. Oh where do I even begin! Khendu and Gopal are the loveliest restaurant owners you will ever meet. My friends and I love their chicken momos so much that we cater frozen momos for our social gatherings as well. Their curry spice blend is unique compared to other Indo-Nepalese restaurants as they make great use of Himalayan spices as well. All in all, I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone as their menu accommodates all kinds of picky eaters, ranging from vegan options to allergen-free options. My beloved Momo Masala is reborn from the ashes under new management as Momo Ethnic Eats! Currently the menu is very limited - just momo and curry - so I hope they add more items soon. I tried the lamb curry ($8.95) and my friends had the chicken curry ($7.95) and the veggie momo ($6). The curries come with rice and lentils, and the momo comes with a cabbage slaw and hot sauce. My curry was tasty and the lamb was tender. Overall satisfying and filling. I stole some hot sauce to try on my lamb and it was actually spicy - major props.
