Small spot, big flavor. Big juicy momos. Seriously. These momos beat any xlb's (xiao long baos) I've ever had. You know how you have to be careful with xlbs so the juice doesn't come out? Not something you have to worry about here with their steamed chicken/beef momos. Juice still drips out but it's still really juicy and flavor packed. Please give this spot a try. The chicken fried momo was tasty, the filling full of meat, seasoned well. The skin not too thick. It came with the dip sauce. The C momo was cooked with the sweet and sour sauce, not the same as sweet and sour chinese style tho. We can choose the spicy level for the sauce. read more

I'm sure Berkeley students are appreciative at the idea of Himalayan food right on campus, but while it has the decor of a Pakistani hole-in-the-wall in NYC that serves taxi drivers late at night, the food is the blandest food from the region I've ever had. Butter chicken was passable, but lamb palak was watery, bland, and had scant portions of meat. Bring a coat if you're eating there in the winter. read more

We stopped by here while walking through Berkeley. I've never had Himalayan Nepalese cuisine and this was fantastic. We were only looking for a snack, so went for the steamed beef momo. It was delicious! Served hot with a unique sauce. She asked if we wanted the hot sauce on the side and of course said yes. It was delicious and really out the dumplings over the top. I will stop be here again for a full meal if ever back in Berkeley. read more

Love the food here. I usually go for the veg momos (medium spicy because full spice costs $1 extra) and have had them both steamed and fried. Unlike fried dumplings which are usually pan fried, the fried momos are deep fried. They can be a bit doughy which not everyone likes but I enjoy it personally. It's really flavorful and filling -- can get you two meals if you're not too hungry. The lassi is also really good. It has both the tang and sweetness needed for a proper lassi That said, I would pass on the Indo-chinese food. I've tried the chilli paneer which was pretty watery and bland. Have also tried the chowmein and found it to be similarly underwhelming The service also tends to vary. I've had some experiences where I got chicken instead of veg momos as well as steamed instead of fried ones. It's not ideal but the momos are worth it. Stopped in for a quick meal and ordered the steamed chicken momos, chicken tikka masala, and a mango lassi drink. Ordering was quick and the food was ready in about 10 minutes. The momo's were great and had a tasty savory filling and a tender dumpling skin that wasn't too thick. Chicken tikka masala was tomato forward and nicely spiced. I usually prefer mine with a bit more cream, but still very tasty over the fluffy basmati rice. Mango lassi was fresh and tangy and not too sweet. Before the food came out, my partner was waiting outside with our puppy and a motorcycle gang came through and blocked traffic, making a huge raucus by revving their engines and doing wheelies up and down the street. Our puppy got really scared and started barking, which made them make even more noise. I had briefly gone up the street and came back to find out the owner had let them wait in the back briefly until things calmed down outside, which was incredibly kind. Along with friendly service, they went above and beyond to show us true hospitality. An overall delicious and affordable meal! We'll be back to try the fried momos and jhol momo, which looks like dumplings in a creamy soup base. read more

Only go if you want authentic handmade Himalayan/Nepalese food! Food is in the pricier side but portions are for 2 and this is high quality. Order on snack pass for discounts! The inside isn't made for dining but it's great for a lunch and grab and go. I waited 10-15 minutes for my food, and watched them cook and prepare everything over the hot fire. It came out piping hot, I couldn't even hold the bag. The smell of the spices were so strong I had to stop and eat immediately. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and Beef Chili Dumplings with rice(free). The employee even put all the sauces on the side just in case it was too spicy. But I ended up mixing it all!!! Finally tried them using Snackpass App. Got the Butter Chicken (spicy) and Garlic Naan bread. The Butter chicken was cuttable with a spoon, spicy and slightly sweet. I love spice and it was wipe my face with a napkin spicy. Awesome. The Garlic Naan was fluffy and no insane amounts of char on the bottom as some other places and it's a full circle of Naan, not a half. Definitely gonna try more and give them a chance. Perfect comfort food! So glad I discovered this place. Was feeling like eating some comfort food but wanted something light. Ordered the veg momos and aloo paratha. The momos were cooked to perfection. Lots of veggies inside, not over cooked, firm but not too firm. The sauce that came with it was very tasty too. The aloo paratha was great and I enjoyed eating it with the yogurt it came with and some pickled lemons. Very well made food and packed so well too. There is no restroom for customers. I need to take down my tooth aligner and wash my hands before dining. My friend needs to pee in urgent. Because the staff refused to provide the restroom, we had to take the food to go. We pre-tipped 15%, but the staff refused to return the tip after the situation. I've not had that happen to me before, but after getting home from the hospital, I called to ask about the ingredients/ see if they could offer me a refund (around $28). This review is for their aloo gobi because I wasn't in the mood for momos when I went. Service was odd. There was no one else in the restaurant the whole time I was there. The guy who took my order seemed to be smirking at me, though I couldn't be sure because he was masked. The other guy behind the counter was not even pretending to be masked. They prepare the curry after you order, so I had some hope! Unfortunately, my aloo gobi was exceedingly greasy. Even the cilantro leaves they sprinkled on top were absolutely saturated. I had asked for medium spicy, but the sole flavoring was oil. The curry was so oily that the eventual method I devised for eating it was to transfer a piece of cauliflower or potato to the rice, roll it around so the rice could soak up the grease, flick off the rice, and eat the vegetable. Mango lassi was really really delicious. We ordered C. Chicken Momo and veg. chowmein. Both of them had many vegetables in it. C. Momo is fried in sweet sauce with bell peppers and onions. The texture and taste was very good. What i like about the veg chomein is its not oily n lots of vegetables. Price was reasonable n would Would recommend this restaurant and will certainly come back again to try other dishes. Customer service was excellent. read more

Went there to grab some lunch for me and my sister. It was their grand opening day. They were distributing some chicken momo and mango lassi for free to all their patrons. Momo was really juicy. So we ended up getting an order to go. I also wanted to try their chicken wings. Wings were ok. We also got some chicken chowmein.. It was really really delicious and flavorful. I live a block away from there. So the food was piping hot. We also asked for some extra sauces for momo, they happIly gave some. Overall the service was good, cordial people, and amazing food. I highly recommend this place. I will definitely be back to try their fried momo and Swiss roll. read more
