The hosts were very sweet and friendly, gave good recommendations and also interacted with us for a while. Small spot with few tables but clean and quiet, they get tonnes of delivery orders. We got the Gongura paneer biryani - gongura was so fresh and the dish was extremely flavorful and spicy! Loved it! Reminded me of home. They recommended the weekend special mirchi chicken pulao to my friend which was also spicy and really good. We started with their biryani - this blew my mind. The dish was packed with flavor, with generous portions of fried vegetables, rich paneer, and perfectly spiced rice. We ordered the regular portion to share and couldn't even finish it because it was so hearty. I'm also a huge mango lassi fan, and their version was so delicious. It's the smoothest, most mango-forward lassi I've ever tasted--just the right amount of sweetness and thickness. If you love mango lassi, this is an absolute must. For the curries, we tried the tikka masala, which was a little more like butter chicken (still delicious!) and the vindaloo, which was beautifully spiced with the right amount of heat. I am always on the lookout for good Indian food. It's one of the meals that I love so much, but have not quite mastered the authentic taste when cooking at home. Momi is legit one of the best Indian restaurants that I have been to. I went to Momi for the first time at the recommendation of a coworker. The four of us all got something different and shared a couple of bites (Just like Joey, I hate sharing food!). I got the Karaikudi Chicken Curry, and while I personally didn't find the extra spicy to be spicy at all I won't hold it against them because the flavor was out of this world. My coworkers got Chhole Puri, Butter Chicken, Andhra Chicken, Special 65 Chicken Biryani, and of course naan. Every single bite I had was amazing like legit 10/10 no negative feedback. Service was great. Our server was fast and really nice. The location is convenient with lots of parking. The interior is so nice and bright. Really chill vibes and didn't feel rushed at all. My husband and I have ordered dinner from here several times now. The food is always piping hot even after the drive back home, which is great. I have gotten the chicken tikka masala which is tasty. I got it medium heat which had just a bit of a kick to it. It also comes with basmati rice which is always nice and fluffy. It's a large portion so I rarely can finish it. We also always get garlic naan which is delicious. One order comes with two large pieces so it's good for sharing. We have only done takeout so I can't comment on what it's like to eat at the restaurant, but service has been friendly when picking up the food. read more

This is a fantastic spot for some delicious Indian food- especially their Biryani. My family and I came in on a Friday night and the restaurant was empty so we were seated right away. We ordered the Mango Lassi, Gobi Manchurian, Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan, and Special 65 Chicken Biryani. Mango Lassi was creamy and refreshing so you can never go wrong with ordering this drink. The cauliflower in the Gobi Manchurian was fried just right and covered in the flavorful/tangy sauce. And with the purple onion and cilantro on top, this tied everything in the dish perfectly together. As for the butter chicken, this is a classic Indian dish that's always a safe option when you're feeling unsure. The sauce was creamy/flavorful and paired well with the rice & garlic naan. Even though we were feeling pretty full from all the food that was just mentioned, we made sure to make room for the Special 65 Chicken Biryani. I don't know what they put in this Biryani but this is a must order! The chicken is tender, the rice is packed with spices and flavor, and the yogurt sauce that came with is just *chef's kiss* We took some leftovers home and the I was so excited to eat this the following day haha. Came here on a Friday evening with my family and got to sample delicious Andhra food. We got the baby corn 555 recommended as a speciality appetizer by the wonderful waitstaff and it was so delicious. It was crunchy with a mild flavor but very tasty. For mains we got the ulavacharu biryani which had potato, corn, and other vegetables in the biryani. This was spicy and tasty and I was happy we got to try Andhra vegetable biryani that wasn't just plain veggies. We also got the avakai chicken which was my favorite dish. It was so tangy and spicy since its cooked with raw mango. I loved this and would get it again. For another vegetable dish we got the bhindi masala which was very flavorful and tasted more tomatoey and creamy than the other curries so the change in flavor was welcome. They also had boba on the menu and we washed all the spicy food down with a honeydew melon boba. It was very sweet and refreshing after this flavorful meal. Will definitely be back! read more

In long The competition for your Indian dining dollar was already fierce up here, and it seemed like nothing I knew about was missing. We could have a wide variety of Indian dishes any time we wanted and never get tired of any of them--there are so many good places. Momi has now become the instant favorite after one meal. Their prices for a couple things (not all) are a tiny bit on the high side, but not by much, and every bite is so dazzling that it's worth it as a treat. Curry leaf chicken Perfectly cooked tender bites, minimal sauce, huge flavors. Onion stuffed mirchi Man, these are so good. These are jalapeno poppers with an advanced degree in international relations. Coated with gram flour, stuffed with onions and other things, deep fried. Show up in a plastic tub labeled "Onion Stuff." Fantastic. Gone in seconds. Chili naan Not the spiciest thing I've ever had, but a nice tingle to it. That perfect chewy-but-tender quality that you get with great fresh flatbreads. Bagara baikan We try eggplant every which way everywhere we can and this is right at the top of the list of best we've had. Eggplant still showing some body to it, sauce with tons of savory and mildly warm notes. All these things showed up with incredible flavor, still steaming, no mushiness or stiffness creeping in, even after 15 minutes in some nice lady's car. I feel so lazy for not going in there in person. But, hey, it's Saturday, and their menu is even bigger on weekends. Very solid spot! We were in WA visiting our old neighborhood and a long-time buddy invited me out for Indian food. This space had been a lot of things over the years but I think this is the best thing that's been there in the 26 years since I first moved into the neighborhood. The service was very friendly. The restaurant was clean and the flavors were very good. My primary issue with Indian food is that I do not like dark meat chicken. I realize that is what is primarily used in Indian food and it's not always easy to find it with chicken breast rather than thigh. This was made with thigh but they prepared it so well that I really enjoyed it/ I always love the flavors of all Indian food but the dark meat detracts from it for me. I guess they just moved from somewhere up North to Green Lake, so don't be confused about that. Anyway, as a vegetarian who has eaten at a lot of Indian restaurants over the years, I thought I had the standard Indian menu dialed in. Normally there is one single "Vegetable Biryani" option. Here, the first thing I noticed is that they had a whole world of Biryanis (even just in the vegetarian section). I was intrigued so I picked one of those, rather than my go-to Saag Paneer. My dish, called Veg 65 Biryani, was a revelation! I had never really experienced Biryani as a kind of art form, with a palette of taste-colors blended to perfection. Now I want to systematically go through this menu section as I return to MOMI over the coming months! Maybe eventually I'll get around to trying their Saag Paneer too! As far as ambience is concerned it's definitely several steps up from the previous establishments that had occupied the space, and the service is friendly and personable. In spite of these improvements, it retains the Green Lake low-key casual in-and-out vibe, which is a good thing as far as I'm concerned. We wanted Indian food and saw our local burger joint is now an Indian restaurant and wanted to give the place a try. We placed an order for pick up and was told 15 minutes. When I arrived 15 minutes later they said they needed another 20 minutes so I just ran an errand at Fred Meyers across the street. If they needed more time to prep the food, just be more upfront if my only beef with it, but the guy was really friendly and it was not a big deal since I could just run a quick errand during the wait. Onto the food! 1) Vegetable korma - this was pretty good and always a favorite of mine. Creamy, nutty and full of vegetables. I'm used to having it with some cubes of (paneer) cheese, but they go with potatoes. 2) Chicken tikka masala - a classic and was pretty good. 3) Bagara Bhaigan - it is an eggplant curry and was pretty good. The curry has (3ea) whole eggplants cooked and simmered in the curry and was tender. I love how every indian joint has their own interpretation of this and this was pretty good. 4) Chicken tikka skewers - the chicken was tender and spicy, but i thought it needed a sauce. It was a medium heat so spicier for the kids. 5) plain naan. I think the naan here is the smallest portion of naan I have ever received. Overall the restaurant is friendly and food was pretty good. Not my top choice, but it is always good for a little variety. I will likely be back to try more of their extensive restaurant. If you are close by do check it out! read more

Hands down my favorite Indian restaurant. They have such an extensive menu here. We first ordered DoorDash from them a couple months ago, and just remembered how good the butter chicken masala was. This time we decided to sit down and spend our Valentine's Day at their restaurant. It was quite busy and it took 45 minutes to get our food, but it was very well worth it in the end. The husband and wife were so kind to offer everyone of their customers, a free sample of either mango lassi or dessert for the delay. The mango lassi was astonishing! The chicken korma and samosa (came with a mint and tamarind sauce) tasted very good, so was the chicken masala but number one dish for us is always the butter chicken. First time trying MOMI and it def calmed the craving for good Indian food. The lady who answered the phone and helped me with my order was very friendly and polite. I ordered a few items and everything was pretty good to good. Butter chicken was good, lamb tikka masala was good, goat curry was good, garlic naan was good, and the chicken dum biryani was ok--it was a little bland and was a little cold. One teensy gripe would be, not enough of the yogurt stuff with all those dishes. Overall I'd say this place is a solid 3.75 and I will come back to try more of the menu. I'm pretty new to Indian food, but the food we had from here was tasty. The menu is pretty overwhelming, but we managed to narrow down some things to try for takeout, and all of it was good! I'm glad they moved on from being a burger/cheesesteaks place, I think their Indian food is much better. They did, however, forget my mango yogurt drink. The taste was great, the portion size was solid, the spices were good, our food came out hot and fast, and the customer service was very friendly. The only complaint is that the heat was lacking. I got a 3/5 for spiciness on my biryani and his wife the same for her butter chicken but we didn't notice any heat. My friend got a 5/5 and his was more of a medium heat. If heat isn't your thing or doesn't matter to you then no issue, if you want any heat make sure to ask for a 5/5. Writing another review since I have been two more times back to back in the same weekend. Yes the food was that good ! I tried their Karaikudi chicken curry, Vijaywada biryani and their newest item Natukodi Chicken Palav (or pulao). I must say, each item impresses me more and more and I wish they opened a chain in Bellevue or Redmond. The Natukodi palav is not as curried/creamy as their Biryani and also had bone-in chicken which some people may not be a fan of but it reminded me of Ambur Chicken Biryani I used to have at a local restaurant that closed down in Bellevue. The flavor is impeccable. Each grain of rice is well seasoned and the taste is elevated with each bite ! Can't wait to try some of their other Palavs. They have this offer going on weekends where if you buy two kinds of pulavs, you get a free appetizer ! Although I am not sure how long this offer will last. The only thing I can think of is that while ordering for kids, you may need to tell them to make it extra mild since the flavors are really rich in spice, in a way that is awesome for adults but *may be* a tad bit spicier especially for young kiddos. read more

The food here is delicious and spicy. Even the mild options is spicy for us native WA folks. You can share meals as a group here which is nice. Like order one dish and split it between two adults. This is not clearly communicated on their menu though. The interior design is cute and bright. We like the setting. We have only be served by one woman. She loves our toddler and respects us. Ok so I last reviewed this place when it had just opened. I've been back a few times but not for a while so my spice buds were tingling and time for a return. Well 7 months on and what a change. The owners have remodeled the dining area but best of all it was 5.20pm twenty minutes after opening the place was full every table. This is so good to see, you know it's down to great food. We went for a change this time with the Andhra Chicken. People you need to try this dish it's a flavour bomb and delicious from first fork to last. Accompanied with garlic and chilli Naan. I think we found our new favorite restaurant in our area! Kept driving by this nondescript place on our way home, today we decided to give it a shot. We are so happy we did! Don't let the pictures of the interior and the simple decor on the inside throw you off, this place has flavor for days. We ordered a few dishes that the host recommended, she asked us a few different questions and gave of some options all of which were amazing. Every dish was loaded of flavors from home and are not something you can find in other Indian restaurants around the region. They have all the standards you can expect to find with some street food that you can't find anywhere else in Seattle. The portions were solid and we have leftovers for lunch later. The only consideration to be mindful of is the heat level, even medium was a little spicy; not a big deal just something to consider. This place is pretty amazing, you've got a combination of amazing food prepared by people who use high quality ingredients paired with the passion for making wholesome food from their home. This little strip mall Indian restaurant may not catch your eye from the outside, and its humble appearance inside might lead you to believe it's maybe not so special... but you'd be very wrong. Once you've tasted their authentic and delicious offerings, you'll realize it's something quite special. This was our first visit to MOMI, but it won't be our last. And this place offers something refreshing. This one has replaced a Boba place there earlier. But the owners remain the same. Ordered from here a few times already. I must say the quality of food is amazing. Their Biriyanis are really good, so as the curries. They are flavorful. Watch out, the food could be really spicy for you! You have an option to customize the spice level. It's a small restaurant, but they have managed to set up around 10 tables in that place. Ambience is casual. I have had an opportunity to talk to the owner when I visited there first time - that was a week after they opened. He was cool and spoke about how they started this place. The service was great.
