He is one of the world's respected thought leaders and I cannot overstate how much I love being his patient. His intellectual curiosity is boundless, meaning he is up-to-date on the latest studies and treatments. That intellectual curiosity also means he confirms ALL of you is okay, not just your specific disease process. My HAE flared, he checked multiple labs, and sure enough, I had hypothyroidism. I think most doctors would simply blow that symptom off as an essential symptom of my hereditary angioedema. Most rare disease patients have been dismissed or not believed by other physicians in the past.
