It's a chill irish bar in the area. My tequila soda was $12, fried calamari was $20.. normal price for manhattan, on the not too expensive side. Place is nice, pretty light decoration at the ceiling. When only half of our group got drinks we were told "you guys can't just sit around and not buy drinks" and then asked if it was our "first time outside?" Tiny, tiny Irish pub in Gramercy, but when you have a hankering for the food that you had earlier in the year, this will do the trick just fine, and I am more than happy with the service and the experience received from having a lunch here. The service is spot on. Some of the servers (cute Irish ladies by the way) were really smart in knowing the menu and really great and ensuring that the food was delivered hot and timely. I got the Shepherds Pie, because well, I had to considering I needed to have a taste of the Emerald Isle. To me it was between that and their Guinness Stew, or their Fish and Chips. It was the smart move. The mashed potatoes were cooked like I remember they were when I was in Ireland, the vegetables had good flavor, and the meat was minced just fine, but the flavors of it all worked beautifully. I should have used the sauce they provided to me as I remembered it from when I was in Ireland, but it is fine that I ate it without it. There is another Irish Pub, Mary O's, in the East Village, that I need to try as well. This one was great when it came to experience and service, but the tiny atmosphere made it hard to really be social. It still is worth going to for a lunch. read more

I don't know much about the history of Molly's, but it does seem like they have a story. You can tell the staff know the regulars, and the service was excellent. Their menu consisted of many Irish classics, like corned beef and cabbage, and pork sausage and mashed potato. We got the Irish Spice Bag - this is an absolute must order. Stepping inside this restaurant pub immediately brought a smile to my face! The Christmas lights were strung everywhere and twinkling just right! Unfortunately it was packed so we couldn't get a table inside but we were able to get one in the outside cozy space. I got a pint of Smithwick's as I do at every Irish pub! And opted for the For dinner I chose the Chicken Curry - Tender Organic Chicken Breast, Peas, Curry Sauce. Served with Fries or Rice or Half & Half. Why does a Irish Pub of all things have one of the best burger deals in the city? If both baffles me and also is so New York that it feels just right as well. Anyway, I've been here twice. The first time I was with a group and the other time I was here alone as I was in the mood for a burger again. They have a nice selection of your normal Irish brews (my personal preference is Smithwick's as well as a a mix of Smithwick's and Guinness. Another person had an old-fashioned which was very heavy-handed with the liquor (which I don't mind.) We decided to start with the Irish Spice Bag on my recommendation from another spot which is 15$ here which they list as "Ireland's Favourite Take-Away. Fried Chicken, Fries, Peppers, Onions, and Chili Peppers." It came with some curry sauce which was very tasty and the sauce also helped with the grease from all the fried foods in it. Nice big portion and very easy to share. I went with the beef burger (medium rare as usual) which is normally 18$ but I got it for 20$ with cheese (cheddar of course) and caramelized onions. It was either served with fries, onion ring, or if you're looking for something healthier a potato salad. The burger is massive and it was cooked properly both times I was here. I got the fries both time and the fries are tasty though I do prefer them a bit crispier. The onion rings another person ordered were tasty and quite large while the potato salad was fine. The coleslaw was fine as was the rest of the stuff served. It's not the best burger patty you'll ever have but it's hard to find a better deal. Most massive burgers in NYC outside of steakhouses are dry hockey pucks or so greasy that they aren't good and this is a definite delicious exception. Very friendly Irish staff and the bartender is also quite friendly. Not much really to complain about here. Mid 4 for the deal. Just don't go in expecting a fancy restaurant. read more

I walked in two minutes before their kitchen closed (unbeknownst to me) and asked if they were serving food. The bartender was so kind and told me if I ordered right away I could have anything on the menu. I gave him so many outs, but he insisted I could order anything from the menu. So I ordered the corned beef sandwich and fries; It was perfect. The beautiful woman who served the heaping helping asked me I wanted extra mustard, and the bartender stayed on top of service throughout my meal. This place is great. read more

Your beers will be $8 and drinks around $12, which isnt bad for NYC. The food, is a bit steep for what it is - although the food was GOOD, the fare is just simple. Onto the good shit... the mozz sticks come in a 4, and they are house made. they are so good! the sticks are big and thick, super cheesy, and come with a sauce. this sauce can be left alone. the sticks have a light bread outside and theyre lightly fried. the pesto on the chicken sandwhich was amazing. i think the thing that made this sandwhich stand out was the pesto. so much garlic and texture! fries were okay, nothing special. my friend grabbed the burger and she liked it, my other friend grabbed the fish and chips and she LOVED them. the service was good too. read more

Experience: We ordered medium and the meat came out to be extremely well done with a sour gamey flavor that's similar to meat that is almost expired. Additionally, the meat itself was almost grainy, which is an odd texture considering it's supposed to be....a beef patty. Pickles were cut so thickly that they don't even stay within the burger. The burger bun also was changed as well. No longer do you have the delightful sesame seeds sprinkled on top. Additionally, the burger bun being toasted to a not-so-subtle "charcoal" color appears to be a feature and not a bug given that the other patrons around me also had similar toasted buns. Salad was also mostly wilted and borderline molding. The fries are the only thing that stayed the same. I suspect that with rising food costs, they could not use the same vendors that they previously used but wow, what a significant decrease in quality. 0 out of 10, would not get this again. read more

Thank you thank youuu because it's cray. Molly's doesn't load the soup with the typical huge chunk of bread (carbs are the enemy), instead it's loaded with silky sweet onions, an herby broth with gooey cheese at the BOTTOM and then crispy cheese on top. Wtf. Genius. Also, sawdust on the floor. I dig it. Bartender named Jason was so gracious last night as I downed 4 glasses of Cabernet. Oh right people, forgot to mention- it seems like a whiskey/dive spot, but please come if you're on Yelp searching for a wine bar as well! I absolutely love Molly's! It's a super cute and cozy pub with amazing food and drinks. A perfect casual date night spot, especially in the winter. I love the colorful Christmas lights they hang year round that really give the place so much warmth. We recently came here on a Friday night at 7 and only had to wait about 5 minutes for a booth inside. They are sticking strictly to the 25% capacity indoors, but they also had an awesome outdoor dining section with heaters (and Christmas lights!) They used to have sawdust all over the floor which was really cool, but I believe they got rid of it due to covid. The tables were clean and the silverware all came in sterilized bags, we felt very safe eating here. As for the food (pictured) we ordered the following: -Reuben was spectacular, juicy corned beef with Russian dressing, along with some of the best fries I've ever had - steak cut and super crispy -Burger with American was perfect, onion rings were even better -Fish and chips are also great here Service was wonderful, our waiter / bartender was super friendly.
