Nothing provided lasting relief, and we frequently had to put a cone on our dog just to stop him from tearing up his skin. Then we met Elizabeth, and everything changed. Elizabeth is incredibly honest, knowledgeable, and extremely result-oriented. Some people might find her direct approach a bit strict, but it's because she has years of experience and is absolutely sure of what works. She told us right away that we needed to follow her advice exactly, or it wouldn't work. She explained that the entire foundation of the treatment is structured around diet, and nothing else would help if we didn't fix the food first. What I appreciate most about Elizabeth is her integrity. She insisted on taking things one step at a time so we could actually see what was working. She wouldn't even allow us to add any topicals or supplements at first. We changed his food as instructed and saw immediate relief. Because she made us wait, we didn't even need to move on to the second step, which saved us a load of money. She could have easily sold us $100 worth of specialty shampoos and creams that day, but she didn't. She isn't interested in just selling products or slapping a bandaid on the problem; she goes straight to the root of the issue. We are so grateful to have a happy, comfortable dog again. She has strong convictions about pet nutrition and pets and isn't someone who filters every thought or sugarcoats her opinions. If you only meet her once, I can see how that could be off-putting. That said, my experience has been very different over the past 8 months. She's helped me many times, has always been generous with her knowledge, and it's clear her heart is in helping people feed their pets the best possible diet-- high quality raw foods, treats and supplements (that I find aren't commonly available in the East Bay). She isn't polished or sales-oriented; I'd say she's an educator first. Once you get to know her, she's actually a very kind person. As a POC myself, I've also never experienced anything resembling the discrimination described in a few reviews. Everyone has their own experience, but I wanted to share mine because I think her expertise and genuine commitment to animal health are well worth looking beyond maybe an occasional blunt communication style.

For the first appointment, I stayed and watched, and I was blown away by how gentle, patient, and attentive they were. They truly prioritize each dog's comfort and emotional well-being, not just getting the job done. After only two grooming sessions with them, our pup is wagging her tail and genuinely excited to see them. Before, she would often have ear issues after baths, and now she has none. The difference has been remarkable. It's obvious how much they love animals and take pride in their craft. They even compete in grooming shows and consistently do very well. Our dog looks absolutely beautiful every time, scheduling is easy and convenient online, and above all, they genuinely care. We feel incredibly lucky to have found them and wouldn't trust our dog with anyone else.

When we somewhat surprisingly became dog owners a little over a month ago, the first thing I did was email my pal Miyuki and ask for more information on the pet care business she works for. She got back to me quicksnap, and as soon as Sadie (our 10.5 month old mini dachshund) was fully immunized and spayed, we signed her up for group walks! We were a bit nervous--Sadie is tiny, weighing in at a ferocious 8 pounds--but Catherine and Miyuki tell us she has a good time scampering and bounding around with the bigger dogs. And she's always pooped when she gets home, so we know she's had a good day. It's a kind of big deal for us to feel comfortable enough with people to give them access to our house and our tiny beast when we aren't home, but Catherine came over one evening so we could all meet, and she did an excellent job allaying our fears (about anything) and explaining the precautions Floppy Ears takes with every house and every dog. We love them and Sadie loves them--what else matters?

We usually take him for a routine grooming session and also when he gets into some naughty business and wants to rub himself in the grass in who knows what but it leaves him smelling very stinky!! No worries tho cuz Claudia gets him smelling so clean and brand new. We usually book a bath, ears, teeth cleaning, nails, trim excessive paw hair. Beagles are prone to ear issues so we always include the ears!! cost is affordable but honestly, finding the perfect place is PRICELESS to us. Our dog seems comfortable being here, and maybe secretly enjoys it because he doesn't get nervous during drop offs anymore LOL We love our doggo so much and love that we found a dog groomer who is reliable, trustworthy, honest, and so friendly to us and Sage our dog. I'll admit that when my dog stayed with you, my family assumed nothing but the best because those pictures of him enjoying a walk are just so cute. I was disappointed to find out that your facility is frequently understaffed, that your employees don't receive proper animal handling training, and that you house a DOG AND PEOPLE aggressive shepherd in the same facility as your clients beloved pets. A dog that has a history of attacks and that recently mauled an employee's arm (reported to animal control if anyone would like to fact check), a situation in which the owner has yet to take accountability for. If you are a person that cares how your dog is treated behind closed doors, or better yet a person who believes in workers rights and protections, I would steer clear of this boarding service. The few negative reviews are evidence of the chaos slipping through the facade. Do not ignore them.
