I was coming in for a random stop but the staff was so awesome and helpful with my questions I happily ended up leaving with a great new tank light and the EXACT plants and rocks in the size I needed for my nano tank. I feel like almost all aquarium stores are a bit cluttered (I can barely keep the supplies for one tank organized), the people that knock this place for that reason alone are going to miss out on high quality customer service!!

Wanted to give this shop a shot despite some of the bad reviews we've seen…read more We came in and this place really is a mess. It's pretty dirty and there's stuff scattered everywhere. It's located in a warehouse in West Oakland, and if you look up at the ceiling, there is insulation hanging out everywhere. There were random buckets of water scattered throughout the ground, and this was honestly probably the dirtiest fish store we've walked into and we've now been to four or five in the Bay Area between El Cerrito and Hayward. We brought our young child with us and were really nervous to even let her walk around given all the water on the ground. But we gave the store the benefit of the doubt and wanted to support a small business so we picked out a few different things. A few days after bringing home two Kuhli loaches, one of them died. A few days later the other one also died. Called to express our concern and unfortunately the person working could not offer any solution, store credit, or refund and simply said once an animal is out the bag it's no longer their problem. Would not recommend, there a way better fish stores in the Bay Area that are clean, take care of their stock and provide much better customer service.

Was able to pop in and out just before closing and get exactly what I needed in no time. Lots of efficient help here. I think good prices too - and faster than waiting for shipping in an urgent case. Lots of parking and in a shopping center that is convenient if you do shopping elsewhere. There is this homeless skinny black cat and I had the suspicious feeling he has worms - he is so friendly I was able to put Advantage on him and so I thought after that was taken care of a dewormer would be worthwhile. I like to call him 'The Husband' - he takes care of his wife - a callie cat - and guards the stairs from intruders as she eats. He really isn't interested in eating - I think he might do that elsewhere - but he likes to hang around and sit next to me after his wife eats and runs. He is so skinny and the two of them look sort of pathetic. Globs in their fur, probably diseases and fleas - but I like them. Due to their upper respiratory disease I have to be carful with them and not introduce their problems to my cat - but I still help them out best I can. I give them wet food and dry and Lysine from here to help with allergies or the URI. Probably in the future i will TNR them as Mrs Meow looks worn out from having children with this guy. I like her a lot she reminds me of my Pig Pig.

I've been here a few times both using their vet service and bathing. It's also a very big store with big aisles. Best of all, it's located on a strip mall where there's grocery and restaurant all in one location, and plenty of parking. Cheers!

I would say the groom was about 80%. Her armpits were still incredibly long which sucks for matting, she trimmed my cats whiskers and there were other areas that were uneven but the overall job was done. I decided to try it a second time. They scheduled an appointment, and then two days before, they had to change the time the groomer couldn't be there so early. I said I couldn't change the time and then they said, I could keep the original time, but I was not willing to bring my cat in early to have her sit for 40 minutes waiting for the groomer, so I declined that appointment. I thought I'd try one more time. I called on Monday and asked to make an appointment for my cat to be groomed (you can schedule dog grooming online) They said they'd call me back. I waited over 48 hours and called again. When I called, the woman apologized for not calling me back, said she'd been really busy, then looked up my cat's file and insisted my cat had never been groomed there. I definitely had a groom done there and paid almost $200 for it. She had no idea how long to schedule my cat and didn't talk about pricing I just don't think grooming cats is their priority, even when they email me they email me about my dogs appointment. If I'm going to pay $200 for a service, I expect them to call me back promptly, keep accurate records, and not change appointments last minute. In good faith, I can't spend my money here anymore. I know there's a groomer out there who will appreciate my business.
