I have a chronic illness and was quite upset that our landlord was going to paint over 2 water damaged ceilings (the roof leaked and damaged the ceiling, as well as the floor, and the ceiling below - 2 floors holding water). Joe patiently explained the process of removing our soaked ceilings, the cost, lab testing of any visible mold, and the equipment used to prevent release of mold to the rest of our house. The work was scheduled a few days later and completed within 1 day by 2 pleasant & efficient work men (Mike & ?). Joe arrived a few hours after the guys started working and attained the mold samples from the saturated beams and sent them FEDEX to the lab. I paid him and we talked about when to expect results, along with the problem of our landlord's reluctance to rectify the water damage. The MOLD REPORT (HIGH levels for one species of mold), along with photos of the soaked ceilings, arrived by email attachment within a week. My husband and I expected to pay much more for the clean up, testing, and mold remediation. Total cost was less than $2000 for 800 square feet. After inspection of the test results, photos, and affected ceilings by our landlord's insurance adjuster, we received full reimbursement. About 2 weeks after a flood in my kitchen, I discovered mold growing in one of my cabinets, so I called MSI (Mold Solutions and Inspections) right away. They did an AMAZING job... I had major flood damage from Hurricane Ida that completely submerged my basement and came up into my first floor. I called around to the big company Flood Remediators like ServPro and TLC but they wanted to charge me $150 for an estimate (ServPro) or didn't call me back (TLC). Neighbors that used ServPro had estimates from 30-40K. These big companies use you as a piggy bank assuming insurance will just cover everything. Well insurance penny pinches anywhere it can and for damage like this we need every penny. Joe the owner of MSI was the opposite of these big companies. He gave me a bunch of great advice before he even came out for his estimate. Was flexible, responsive and professional through the whole process. The guys he has employed were also great. Mike was knowledgeable and went the extra mile to help where he could. He's even recommended a contractor I ended up going with who's done a great job so far for a fair price. At the end MSI charged half of what ServPro would have and worked with me constantly to help with insurance. 9:30 at night I came home to find that a pipe burst on the second floor of my home and completely flooded out my living room, dining room and basement. After getting the water shut off, I called 3 companies who claim to have emergency service and none of them called me back. Then I called MSI, got a live person, was immediately patched through to the owner Joe, and he and his crew arrived at my home within 30 minutes. They worked until 4 in the morning without any complaint and seemed happy to do it as they were all extremely friendly. My house was cleaned better than before they arrived, equipment was set up and all the necessary photos and documents were given directly to my insurance company. The adjuster from Travelers was so impressed he asked for Joe's number. I couldn't be happier with Joe and MSI and can clearly tell you that they deserve every award they win. I cannot say enough about how amazing dealing with Joe and his guys were. They took the time for me to show them the areas that I was having issues with and explained to me what they were going to do that day to help with the problem. Joe continually kept me informed throughout the day of what was going on at my condo and what the workers were finding or not finding (based off of the preliminary inspection and possible problems that could have arose). The workers that were at my condo did such a great job of cleaning up after each day that you wouldn't have known that drywall had been cut as clean as it was. We had a persistent mold issue in our home and used another company with Tech at the end of their name to no avail. They charged us several thousand dollars, promised us the world with their so called, "5 year warranty," and we ended up still having mold. After having enough, we found MSI and reached out to them. I contacted this company through a recommendation of a friend to help with my mother's house. She had unfortunately been unable to keep up with the maintenance and was too proud to let the family know. Great company and great staff! I moved into my apartment about two weeks ago to find mold in my room. I contacted my landlord to inform him of the issue and got no response. After tropical storm Isaias came through the north east, our basement ended up with 4 inches. I called 6 companies to help dry out the basement and check for mold and no one got back to us.
