New Image Restoration was hired for a fee of $1,000 plus tax to remediate a mold issue measuring 2'…read morex 1' x 2' x 1' located within the wooden structure above the bathroom ceiling (sheetrock). The contractor(s) from New Image Restoration removed and disposed of approx. 2' x 4' x 2' x 4' of the ceiling (sheetrock) that exhibited signs of mold, treated the exposed wood with a mold and mildew killer, identified the source of a leak, and recommended that I hire a plumber. I found the quality of the work to be satisfactory however, the identification of the leak was inaccurate, as no pipes were found to be leaking. The contractors were courteous and presented identification upon request before entering my home. Nevertheless, I consider the cost of the work particularly expensive for seniors given that it represents only (1) component of a (3) part job. Additionally, I was asked to sign a blank contract that stipulated a 50% charge, the cost was not explicitly detailed in the agreement. I had to inquire further to clarify this matter. Despite the fact that New Image Restoration was aware of my insurance company's $500 deductible, I was required to pay (2) both payments of $500 plus. Moreover, I began to receive multiple invoices totaling over $1,500 for services such as drywall repair, patchwork, priming, and painting, which were not performed by New Image Restoration or Super Steamer Carpet. It was also concerning to discover that New Image Restoration billed me through a subcontractor, Super Steamer Carpet, without prior notification regarding the involvement of subcontractors. Ultimately, I found it necessary to hire multiple contractors to complete the work on the ceiling mold issue. This experience has underscored the importance of inquiring about the entire scope of a project, including a comprehensive written description and a complete estimation of costs, accounting for any deductions.

Adding small tiled bathroom floor on another level was $60 extra but ended up costing me $350 beyond that when they knocked over tray of toiletries; they missed picking up my brand new night guard which was likely sucked up with their cleaning hose. I didn't notice til hours later -- too late to check their discharge bucket. Did nothing to cover their shoes, nor clean as they exited leaving wet footprints on waxed wood floors and just-cleaned tile floor. I had to damp-mop again after their cleaning. Did not clean carpeted stairs, which needed it even more after their soapy, wet shoes and hose left residue. I don't know if they are capable of being more careful and thorough if more advance scheduling is done. Still, they were very good to fit me in for emergency situation -- though rushed as they had other bookings. The carpet area dried well with my own blower on it for 24 hours. Cleaning that right away was my main concern.

I did not hear from him nor the company so decided to call him to confirm day and time. He stated that they were not able to come on the day agreed upon after I took off work and mad arrangements to be there. This was an ordeal for me since when I don't work, I do not get paid. I also asked him to send me the detail information via email that I never received from our initial meet up. Long story short, I never received the information nor a call to start the job after reaching out to him an additional time. What a disgrace! I'll preface this with stating that aside from the obvious fraudulent population, I'd find it hard…read moreto imagine there's anyone who finds the process of filing a Homeowner's Claim anything short of arduous and painstaking. Speaking as someone whose gone down that road not just once (but twice) I can assure you that the only thing more unsettling than the feeling of your home in instant disarray at 3am - is then figuring out how in admits of everything else going on in life you're somehow going to find time and juggle getting it everything back together. By virtue of having been through the Water Damage process twice fortunately become pretty well versed to what all a Homeowner's Policy actually entails (details you'll wish you knew in advance). With that said, I solely attribute the wealth of beneficial knowledge to the franchise personnel at ServPro Society Hill as a whole. The personnel at this ServPro did not stop at just performing the "dirty work" - but more importantly assisted me in managing each of my claims process from start to finish. My first experience needing to file a water damage claim was a wake up call (to say the least). As with many first time homeowners, I was naive to an extent by assuming the lengthy insurance policy I was sold included all the coverage I would ever need. That wake up call happened at 3am one morning - a time where the only "lifeline" awake for support is Google. It was probably an hour or so after getting off the phone with the gentleman that they had a crew at my doorstep. Although upon their evaluation of the damage they confronted me with reality of potentially having no coverage from my insurance - they began performing the necessary clean up and were comforting in a sense with how they assured me they would do their best to work directly with the insurance on my behalf to validate I received proper compensation. Aside from the quality work and supportive staff, their defining (and most convenient) feature was above all else the ability to oversee and complete any/all work required. When you get woken up at 3am to a house under water it's admittedly challenging to foresee their being anyone could make you feel "like it never even happened" as advertised. Ultimately, I must commend the staff and crew over at Society Hill for not only able to make it aesthetically appear as if it had never happened (not once but twice!) - but more importantly took everything off my hands and worked tirelessly on my behalf from beginning to end simply to assure I was able retain as much "at-home" feeling throughout the process as entirely possible. Thank you!!!!
