Gerry was amazing - we started to notice our wood floors turning black from underneath, so we assumed we had water coming in from somewhere and didn't want to start pulling up the flooring to find out where before we understood if the black rot/mold was hazardous. Mold Inspection Sciences promptly scheduled a visit, arrived exactly on time, and Gerry was very professional and friendly. As a fairly new homeowner, I like to understand and learn what's happening, and Gerry was really gracious about letting me follow him around and explaining everything he was doing. He even responded to my hypotheses around where the water was coming from with whether that was consistent with the rot/mold he was seeing, which really helped us narrow down what was causing the damage. It was not his job to find where the water was coming from (and he was really good about not offering advice or making suggestions about areas or that aren't his expertise), but it was extremely helpful to hear his point of view, as a mold expert, on whether my various theories were likely to have caused this type of discoloring. He was also really great with our cat, who can be pain and likes to hover when strangers are in the house. Overall, Gerry was super thorough, answered all my questions, was nice to my cat, and helped me understand what areas I should be concerned about. Waist of money!!! I learned more about the mold in my house from google they charge 350 for them to come walk through your house and look for mold I did a better job myself they don't look in the crawl Space or attic like they said they would and each sample they take take is an additional 100 dollars it's a joke I had them take one sample to which they told me it was mold brown mold! Ummmmm yeah I can see that I learned nothing from them coming and it was a waist of money I wish I never hired them!!! read more

I am very pleased with the service I received from Mold Inspection Sciences. I got an appointment right away and the technician Gerry was extremely thorough. He found problems we had no clue about and will hopefully save the property owners a lot of money in the long run. He found 3 leaks that the maintenance person missed and even some corrosion on the water heater. He didn't try to push for testing that wasn't necessary and performed additional tests that I requested. He has building experience and understands how things should be built and why mold would be growing as a result of building mistakes or from leaks, etc. The air and surface samples took 3 days and Brandon patiently explained the results over the phone. The reports are very thorough. For us, dealing with mold issues has been an unpleasant, draining experience. We just wanted someone to come and assess the problem and feel confident that we'd have all the information necessary to deal with it. And that is what we got with Mold Inspection Sciences. Everyone in this company was perfectly nice and responsive. The inspector who came out to look at our house seemed knowledgeable and thorough. However, the problem is that the product they delivered us (the mold inspection report) was not helpful at all. First of all, the report is really scary to get and the company doesn't talk you through it or help you to understand what the report is actually saying. Second, most of the reputable mold remediation companies around require their own report (they won't take another company's report) which means you end up having to pay for another report anyway. Lastly, this company requested way more air samples (which cost $100 each!) than any other company and they requested air samples other companies said were useless and unimportant. All in all, this process was not helpful and it was super expensive. If you've found mold in your home, I'd recommend going with Environix as they have been excellent at helping us to address our situation every step of the way. read more

Gerry wsa very helpful and did an excellent job informing us of all the issues involved with the problem areas in the home. Although we chose not to go with the extra cost of sampling, we feel much more educated and understand the steps we need to do moving forward and what to monitor. Gerry addressed all of our concerns.
